Current album obsession?

From time to time, I go through obsessions with a singular album. Whether it be the novelty of it, or the interesting sounds, I just can't get enough of it. I listen to it over and over again, from start to finish, until I find something to replace it, and it's very very hard for me to get tired of it. What is your current album obsession?

My current obsession is with Five Finger Death Punch's new American Capitalist album! I think it is an amazing album from an already amazing metal band and it does its job of sounding great and highlighting the desire of fame and fortune in the American Dream

The Legend of Zelda 25th Anniversary Symphony. I love it! Give it a listen sometime. Whether you're a fan of The Legend of Zelda or just like orchestral music, you'll love the album. :D

Both Yellow House and Veckatimest by Grizzly Bear are getting high rotation at the moment, although neither album has seemed to sink in properly yet. I love listening to them but it still feels like a new album - in many cases I wouldn't know the name of the song playing unless I looked (although now I'm starting to pick up on tracks like Colorado; On A Neck, On a Spit; and Ready, Able among others).

Great albums though, they've been in my music library for almost two years but until recently I haven't sat down and properly listened to them (ie. play them more than once in a month).

Definitely wanna check that out now. :)

Lil' Wayne Tha Carter IV this album has been on repeat since it came out.

Don't care much for Lil' Wayne tbh, but I still really wanna check out this album.

    Deftones - Saturday Night Wrist

Over and over playing on my Galaxy Ace.

My current album obsession...I guess I have two for now. Radiohead's OK Computer and Ellie Goulding's Lights. I think those are the only things I've been playing on my iTunes lately, judging by my last.fm page haha. Radiohead is just so...I don't know the right word, really. Their sound is just something different. And I can say the same for Ellie Goulding. It's pop, but...it's not just the catchy radio pop you're used to. There's so much more substance to it and the beats are great. I mean, that's not to say her songs aren't catchy, but they're not annoyingly catchy like most pop songs haha.

My long-term album obsession is and probably will always be Kings of Leon's Come Around Sundown. It came out in October 2010 and for me, it...defined the time so well. Each song reminds me of something from last year and I think that now it's safe to say that after a year of loving this album, it's replaced Because of the Times as my favorite. If you haven't listened or have only heard Radioactive from it, go listen to the rest, namely Pyro, Pickup Truck, and The Immortals. They're amazing, to say the least.

The two albums that I constantly play on my ipod are: "Payable On Death" by P.O.D. and "Neighborhoods" by Blink 182. Both of these bands are from the San Diego area in Southern California. P.O.D is a Christian Hard Rock/ Nu Metal band and Blink 182 is a Pop-Punk band.

Heh, I'm often like that but more often I'm stuck on a single song, not the album in full (although it does happen).

Nothing atm, but the last one for me was some good old Led Zepplin.

Both of these albums are at the top of my list at the moment. :D Learning songs from both, as well.

I usually get an obsession with an album only when it's the newest one on my iPod, but since I haven't gotten a new album since spring, I've just been going through the old classics. Right now it's Fallen by Evanesence (hope I spelled that right).

Depends on what type of mood i'm in. The albums i do listen to over and over are

    "Flying Colours"- Bliss N Eso
    "Greatest Hits"- Blink 182
"Horizons" and "Killing with a Smile"- Parkway Drive
    "Nevermind" Nirvana

Usually It's Greatest Hits, because well.. It's Blink 182.

Normally I listen to everything on my iPhone on shuffle, but towards the end of each year I have a tendency to go on music binges. Essentially, this means looking at lots of 'Best of' lists of music, sampling stuff from the consistent high-placers, and listening to the whole albums of bands/artists I like. This year, the 'obsessions' have become w h o k i l l by tUnE-yArDs, Burst Apart by Antlers and Zonoscope by Cut Copy. They're all completely different, but have a shared goal in making thoroughly inventive and wholly listenable music. I highly recommend all three.

    Even though I've been listening to Mariah for years, I've been listening to her Daydream album on non-stop for the last three days. She's just so good ;-;

I usually get stuck on the same albums over and over. I suppose I somehow 'rediscover' them.

Usually albums by Hammock, Lights Out Asia, M83 and EF.

It seems like they just have entire discographies that I can enjoy fully, unlike some of my other favorite bands/artists.

    Current album obsession?

Florence + the Machine - Ceremonials

    THIS ALBUM.

I am so obsessed with it, it's ridiculous. This is definitely my favourite album of 2011. It's, in my opinion, a lot better than her debut album Lungs (and Lungs was pretty freaking fantastic itself). Her vocals are just stunning. One of my favourite voices of this decade. Love love love loooove this album.

I adored her first album, and although I have nothing against Ceremonials, I just can't seem to play it repeatedly like Lungs. :( Seven Devils is an amazing track though. <3
