I try to curb myself online, but in real life I swear all the ****ing time. I don't do it excessively to the point of being vulgar, but it definitely helps to bring points across when required. Also because my accent sort of sounds more upper class than I actually am (at least when compared to other Australians), swearing comes out like a wonderfully classy part of the conversation.
In the end, they're just words and they only have as much power as we give them. If you want to swear around kids, that's fine by me. There are a lot worse things kids could be doing and it's not as if swearing is some kind of gateway drug to harder stuff.
