What's your opinion on cursing and curse words? Do you use them often? Do you like them or dislike them? Do you not see the point in people getting their panties in a bunch over words?!!

I don't particularly mind if people swear/curse (I guess people do it when they feel strongly about something). I don't swear out loud, but I mutter it to myself if I feel strongly about something.

Here in Spain, curses are so mainstream they have really lost most of their bad meaning. I use them somewhat often, as everybody else.

When I'm speaking English though, I don't really use them unless I'm really, really annoyed at something XD

I don't use them a ton but I have no issue with them. I won't swear at other people unless I'm pissed or dislike them because that's just kind of disrespectful but I see no problem with them.

I don't like Profanity at all. It's so stupid how people like to put the word Ffff or Ffffing in every sentence, it's just stupid and shows a lack of vocabulary.

Curse words are the forbidden fruit... for little children. We teach them those words are bad and being human they promptly attempt to see how many of them they can fit in a sentence to see what happens. My Little Rebellion. >A> We were apparently too stupid when we first invented the concept, since we now know that humans /love/ rebellion.

Now that I am not in elementary school the persistence of curse words is mildly annoying at best. It's immature to exploit that part of our culture and it couldn't be more done to death. It's no longer shocking nor offensive /nor/ worth our time fighting to stop it at this point.

    I curse a lot
    like, a real lot

I don't see what's the problem with them, really, but maybe it's just a cultural thing since here in brazil everyone curses and even our slang language from decades ago is full of cursing
and yeah the most irritating thing here on PC is the censoring ): I have an ~*authority to complain*~ seeing as I've been banned over it lol

I curse a lot, just not on here or when in the company of my church-going pals from college. So I really don't have a problem when others curse. Even my parents have accepted the fact that if they want to start a shouting match with me, the F-bombs will follow in short order.

I swear sometimes around my friends, I don't make a habit of it but there are some things that need swearing to be said tbh. Saying someone is a witch does not have the same connotation at all, and no other word really does other than the obvious swear. I try not to use them much though, because I use them mostly as a venting tool and they wouldn't work very well as a venting tool if I used them so much that it didn't feel different to use them, haha.

I don't curse very often at all. If I do, it means I am feeling EXTREMELY strongly about something. xD

What is funny, is that people offline know I don't curse often, and for some reason they assume that it means I don't like when others curse. I really couldn't care less at all. xD

I think I do an average amount.. if there is some worldwide average. I like them personally hence why I use them and they don't bother me at all. LOL once me and this other kid bumped into each other and all he said was, "whoa *****." which I thought was hilarious... ahahaha

I try to curb myself online, but in real life I swear all the ****ing time. I don't do it excessively to the point of being vulgar, but it definitely helps to bring points across when required. Also because my accent sort of sounds more upper class than I actually am (at least when compared to other Australians), swearing comes out like a wonderfully classy part of the conversation.

In the end, they're just words and they only have as much power as we give them. If you want to swear around kids, that's fine by me. There are a lot worse things kids could be doing and it's not as if swearing is some kind of gateway drug to harder stuff.

They used to really annoy me, but I hear them so much I'm kind of indifferent now. I still haven't cursed in many years myself though.

I think my opinion on curses is already apparent lol.

As for the lack of vocabulary thing; I probably have a wider vocabulary than you.

I swear like a sailor offline, especially around my closest friends. Oh god. When we're together we could definitely make pirates blush. When I'm online I do swear often (outside of PC of course cause ya know) but not as often as I would offline. Because of all this profanity, I think it goes without saying that I have no problem with swearing in general. People need to stop being so uptight over a few bad words. I really don't see it as that big a deal.

I don't mind them. Mostly because pretty much any word that comes out of my mouth is a curse word. I'm trying not to curse as much as I normally do, but it's been a pretty bad habit since freshmen year, so it's pretty hard not to curse. Swearing pretty much caused my lack of a wide vocabulary. :I

I try not to curse, but most of the time a word or two happens to slip out. Especially in a classroom setting. When I'm with my friends, I have the potty mouth of a sailor. In general, curse words don't bother me especially since I've been hearing them for the longest it just doesn't effect me any longer.

Yeah, I curse pretty frequently. Sometimes there just isn't a word that's cathartic enough and cursing is just what you need to do. That said, I do try to keep it only for those times when it's warranted which, to be fair, is quite often for me.
