I only live with my mother, so me and her constantly argue, though it's been a rare occurrence nowadays. Usually whenever we argue it's about academic things and school and stuff that shouldn't really be argued about. .__.;

I actually think that since Education is important.. it probably would be something that's commonly argued about .__. At least the disputes have died down for you

Depends whether she's trying to tell him what to do after school is over, or not, though.

That sounds so stereotypical. o:

Well... it's pretty much true? XD;

I'm a female and I don't argue with people much. It's rare nowadays for me to argue with someone. D: And whenever I do, it does get really bad, but then again, it's rare. ^^;

Well, I definitely agree that Education is definitely important, but c'mon, does it really merit an argument every single time an argument actually happens? I don't want to argue with my mother about something that happened Sophomore or Junior year that she just won't forget about for some really odd reason instead of focusing on the more current things like SATs and ACTs and college applications and stuff like that. She chooses to focus more on how much of a procrastinator I am, etc.

I guess she's just bringing up her concern about how she doesn't want you to continue that behavior now since now's the time it's super important.

Does she have to do the same every single year, though? I'm not five years old, I think I would know not to continue the procrastinating habit, especially considering that I'm taking classes that are harder than your average community college and even their honors program. >> So I think I'm perfectly capable of trying to get rid of my procrastination. I don't need my mother to nag me every flipping time about it because its just gets more and more annoying and it really doesn't help.

Yeah, maybe she does. If you still have your procrastination problem (which it seems like you do, since you just said "trying to get rid of my procrastination) then she has every right to remind you. Sure maybe it doesn't help, but what else can she do? She can't do your work FOR you, so at least TELLING or even "nagging" you about it puts HER a bit at ease about it (because by reminding you, she believes that you'll think about it and try to tackle it,) even if it might annoy you.

You say you're not five years old, but you can't even see that she does it for such simple reasons! Don't be so condescending towards your own mother who just wants you to do good in the world- be grateful that she even cares.

Parents tend to always want to know what you're doing. Mines are the same way, wondering if I'm procrastinating or doing whatever homework/studying/chore I'm suppose to do and it does get really annoying.

Also, my mom tends to contradict herself too. For instance, she would nag how one of my flaws is I take time getting ready to pack up and such before leaving the house. However, she takes an even more time getting everything ready. :/

I hate it when my parentals contradict themselves, just makes me want to shout "OBJECTION!" and say how they contradicted themselves. But I wouldn't because it's rude.

My dad has never really cared all that much... and my mom started giving me an insane amount of privacy in the last couple years, which I have taken full advantage of. lol

She must be scared to come in or something... she just knocks at the door endlessly, until I tell her to come in, like Sheldon... except she doesn't say Penny over and over as she does it.

With me, Nan just... opens the door and comes in, with me yelling etc. Though tbh, I do take an hour with the door shut, but I like privacy. ;____;

I can somehow relate to this, my Dad could care less about me these days, he may try and give stuff, but it doesn't work when I need him most, he always turns to his family first, and forget about me and my sister, luckily he doesn't live here. Also, Mom has actually gave me more privacy myself, she usually knocks these days after recent fights a few months back 'cause she never knocked at all, as for my sister on the other hand it's a different story, she thinks she can barge in whenever she wants and it's quite annoying I must say.

My dad and mum dont really care about what im viewing or not. For instance, I watch [you know], my mum and dad go "eh, dont worry, ur becoming a man now". XD I get a lot of privacy as well. :)

I love how Pokemon Black works on my TTDS now.

It's an awesome game, although the level curve is really steep. The fact that the grinding is really dodgy because of the new EXP-gain system sucks too.
