Daily Chit-Chat -- Autumn and/or Spring Edition

Mine wants us to find a song that goes with the theme our Powerpoint's about (and it has to be an "-ism" like racism, sexism, etc.). And the Powerpoint itself has to be mostly pictures, but still. She probably wants creativity in them.

It's been four years since I had to do one.

I don't hate PowerPoint slide shows, but they're not my favorite thing to make (especially when you're *required* to include all the fancy sounds and transitions and such) and they're not the best way to teach any class that requires a lot of math, IMO.

I was never a huge fan of powerpoints. Usually when it comes to powerpoints it means presentation which I hate doing and also they are pretty boring as well. As much as you try to make them look interesting, they always seem boring to me.

I can't use photoshop anymore because it won't work... I need to find a torrent or something and re - download it...

Until then I am stuck with Gimp.

I use GIMP for now. My only problem is one of the layer modes that is commonly used in Photoshop isn't in GIMP D:

GIMP works fine for me for the graphics projects I do... except that it can't properly handle transparencies for animated GIFs...

A lot of torrents are reliable. I just don't use them often. I also use BitComet, because it really does make my downloads faster xD.

I think you are quite strictly mistaken my good sir. However, the areas or grey. But given what is commonly seen on this forum and by what I assume you are referring to in graphic design, you are oh so very incorrect. Photoshop is vastly superior even to the expert when it comes to GIMP. I'm an advanced GIMP user, however I'm an intermediate Photoshop user, yet I still can do so much more with PS. Nor did I have hassle with torrents or even find an un-safe one. Obviously I didn't spend my money on it either. At any rate, Adobe don't have issues with non-commercial graphic designers using their products illegally. It's when someone makes money from their product is when they get annoyed.

At any rate, don't diss something until you've got the experience in both fields.

Heck, if I knew I could obtain Photoshop for free I probably would have gotten it instead...

But now that I'm used to how GIMP works, I probably won't switch to PS unless I ever have the need to do something really advanced... which I don't see happening anytime in the near future.

I downloaded Photoshop, but unfortunately trying to find a serial number on the internet to unlock it didn't work. D: Maybe I'll ask for CS3 or CS4 for my birthday or Christmas.

We got the entire CS4 AND CS5 Adobe packs from school as part of our tuition :3

My school has Photoshop cs4 but I like using Photoshop instead of using GIMP. It was much easier for me to use then GIMP for some reason. Its probably because I'm so use to using it.
