If marriage is a Christian thing.. why then do Buddhists and other religious believers in Eastern asian countries get married?

A lot of gay people have even stated that they'd want their version of marriage to be called something else, if I can find the article i was reading with comments from gay people I will post it.
I'm not religious but I do know *some* religious people kick up a fuss about the gay marriage thing and I know gay people want to keep peace, they just want what they deserve.
I think it would make things less complicated if they got their own thing.

well, marriage is recognized by civil laws as a social/political matter...it's only seen as a spiritual ceremony by Christians. which is fine, just...the way i see, Christians can give marriage any meaning they want but it's not their business to impose their interpretation of it onto anyone else. no matter what, there's going to be controversy over the issue of gay marriage. say a term is created to specify gay marriage- many gay people will be offended by the fact that they're being treated as a separate people. the fuss over gays getting married is the new fuss over interracial couples getting married...in time i think we'll look back at all this controversy over a silly term and feel pretty foolish. but i do see where you're coming from, and i can agree to disagree :o

Not that I go for Jack's side or something.. but.. Kura.. take this place a little less seriously, okay? Pretty sure that was a joke, or at least I could take that as a joke.. I'm quite sure it was sarcasm, and even if it wasn't you shouldn't get angry or something over it. (Still... lesbian orgies RAWR)

Well in that case we shouldn't even label gay people as gay, homosexuals or anything other than people. Because it's all the same. Anyway I was just repeating what I saw in an article, obv the article said it a lot better than I did ;3;

there's nothing wrong with acknowledging individual differences, diversity ought to be embraced. things just get nasty when people detach themselves from others or treat others as inferior over a natural quality.
 
well I dont think anyone meant they shouldn't call it marriage because they're inferrior. But anywho doesn't matter

No school today! We were supposed to have an extra long Thanksgiving weekend a week ago, but we missed too much school during hurricane Igor so it got postponed until today.

Also, going to see Jackass 3D today. Has anyone seen it yet?
 
I hate Wednesdays (...technically today) because of being at uni all day, but Glee at night :DD

At least uni timetable will change next year~
