Well, LiveWire, if social-networking sites weren't so addicting to people with certain personalities it isn't necessarily a tool. A tool is something you use. However, in the case of being addicting to them, then YOU ARE THE TOOL.

It doesn't help that most people don't understand that people with mental illnesses or just have addictive personalities almost always blame the person, rather than themselves and the site.

Maybe we should blame the people stupid enough to become slaves to it like that in the first place. Social networking sites are only a tool.

I never got addicted to social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter etc I'd be scared of myself if I did.

I don't have a need for social networks I just talk to my friends in real life.

you say that now but what about when you all seperate for college? I have friends who live in other states now so I can't up and talk to them everyday when I want to and with class schedules and activities, it can be hard to find time to skype/msn, so the quickest way is to drop a comment on facebook.

idk, I'm not ~addicted~ to the sites. they're a fun way of keeping in contact and killing time (for me at least).

You still make the conscious decision to use them. Facebook didn't hypnotize you and force you to play Farmville all day. Plus, you use social networking sites to play games, stay connected etc. Something you use = a tool.

^ This.

Social networking sites are such a great way for me to keep in touch with people I wouldn't be able to keep in touch with otherwise. If they live far away, I can't go and see them, talking on the phone is long distance, and even texting them could be costly. The easiest way is to drop a line on Facebook or set up a time to Skype. I wouldn't say I'm addicted to these sites no matter how frequently I tweet.

I use twitter because nobody I know irl has one. I avoid Facebook for the opposite reason. I rarely, if ever, talk to people I know. I like to keep my Internet life and real life separate.

If I had a Facebook account (which I don't), I would never tell anyone my personal information. Why would anyone care what you're doing right now? It's not that important to them.

I have a facebook but I don't tell people what I'm doing for this reason. For me it's a way to stay connected with family friends, highschool friends, acquaintances, and people I don't see often/ don't have their email.

I feel like this was the main reason it was created, but it has turned into something completely different. I don't understand the appeal of it when it's being used for stuff other than this, really.

It's not appealing. It's just a way for people to exploit themselves for attention. People do it here, too.

Also.. @_@ argh.. I got like 1 and a half hours of sleep last night.. and I'll be turning today into an elective-driven day again I guess.. I'm feeling so unproductive and I can't concentrate. I can't nap once I've woken either.. it's horrible.. @_@ Oh well.. I'll just take an extra day out of my march break to work and use this day as a bit of a break day..

I don't have any personal information on Facebook really.

OMG YES! Handed in a HUGE module today at University. Only 2 more to go! ^_^

Sweet! That's great, Fabio! Glad you're making progress on your assignments!

Thank you my dearrrrrrrr.
Also, got one of my essays back and got 82%, so happy with that. Shame it only counts 25% towards the final mark of the module, but it is enough.

How is your work going?

That's awesome, congrats!

Work's going okay, I was up 'till.. erm.. I would say 5:00ish last night (I had to wake up for 7:30AM today for class) so I'm feeling really derpy today.. So I'm using the day to read "Turn of the Screw" because I was told today that I'm apparently presenting on the week back and I don't plan on reading it during the break because my break won't really be a "break"..

Went to see the screening of our WIP films yesterday and there are some really great ones! There were a lot of really funny ones- like Johnny's is about this.. all-american hero who kicks a hitler-robot's butt.. (While saying "You should've had that made.. in america!") and saves the girl only to have to tell her that he's "gay...... .... .... for uncle sam!" (cue snazzy music and explosions in the background & fin)

It was good to see how all of them are heading : D There are some extra-beautiful ones this year. I have a lot of work ahead of me, though!
