The Pendragon Series by D.J. MacHale is good as well as the Power Five and Alex Rider series by Anthony Horowitz.

The Power of Five series has movie written all over it though. All good books. Power of Five is quality right from the get go. The other two are still quite good at the beginning but definately take a step forward. The latests are all amazing imo.

I have read all the Alex Rider books. They are good. Shame the film let it down though.

I have read all of the Harry Potter books and some of the Alex Rider. Although I got the last Harry Potter book, I never got the chance to read it completely. xD

Try reading 'The Historian'...

It's a hard book to get through, but so awesome.

I'm not really much of a book reader, I spend most of my time reading manga. XD

Has anyone here read Book of the Dead by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child?

Um, nah..I haven't. I usually avoid books unless they have something to do with school xD

Right now I'm currently reading "A thousand splendid sons" for english class. It was by that dude who wrote "the kite runner..." whatever the hell his name is >_>

It's actually really interesting, and even had me in tears at certain points >_>

Some how you don't seem like the kind of person that would tear up very often, but then again I don't know you very well. :\

I just read Things Fall Apart for English. It wasn't bad but it wasn't good by any means.

I'm just um, gonna quote something from back a page. ;D

There's something about that book which is really throwing me off now. The first book was reasonably good and the second as well. But the latest third book (Night rise?) seems to be kinda more weird. I can make a full judgement since I haven't actually finished reading it yet but from what I have read it's weird and it's not hooking me into it.

If it were made into a movie, I'd hope it doesn't turn out a mess like Stormbreaker became... that just was um... yeah, I prefer the books by far.

This place seems to be dead today.

What is The Power of Five series about? I might take a look at it. I want to know what it is about first though.

Yes... it is.

It's hmm... hard to explain. It'll be easier if I link to something, rather than try to explain it. I'll probably confuse myself. ;D

Wiki has a nice, short summary.

Just read about the books. They sound interesting. I will take a look at school for them.

I don't like the idea of a film. I haven't seen a film that is anywere near as good as the book.

It depends which comes first, the book or the movie. If it was the book first, the movie usually doesn't reach up to the standard that you think it could be capable of. The only movie that I think has down quite well would be the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

The Lord of the Rings trilogy is one of the best series of movies ever made. I haven't read the books though.

If they do a film first then a book the book is never any good as less effort has to go into it. So the writter isn't always bothered as some people buy it because of the name.

The books are pretty good too. I read those before seeing the film.

Yeah... I don't really like how that's done. The books are nicce as you get to "feel" and imagine what's happening yourself rather than being told.

If J.R.R. Tolkien knew what slash fangirls are doing to his characters, he'd be doing way more than just spinning in his grave.

Um. Well since that slash fangirl thing was brought up, I must ask you... what does that mean???

I never liked the LotR trilogy...I watched once and I was completely lost even when I watched the first movie. :|
