When J.R.R. Tolkien first wrote the novels, there was absolutely nothing at all in his writings to even suggest that any of his characters were gay. It was only when Peter Jackson made the films that the delusions started.

As for the phenomenon of slash in general, Wikipedia has something for what ails you. It would benefit you to read the references and external links as well.

Yeah... but it makes that have more meaning to me. O.o
I know what you mean though, the "anybody can edit" part really isn't so good.

Since I'm not in the Northern Hemisphere... I've been at school since um, 8 weeks ago. D:

I've been back in school for 2 weeks now and it's sooo stressful. This weekend I have 15 different pieces of homework.

=3= I've been at school 4 days and it's already been stressful. I have 3 assignments and about 300 pages to read >/

Well not really. xD I also get back before then next year~

O.o That is quite a lot... kinda like what I had last week.
 
Concerning Wikipedia, do people even BOTHER reading the references and external links? I do, and what I see on Wiki matches what's given in the citations for the most part.

Well not always... I don't really think people do unless it's for like assignments or work. Generally people just take whatever there is on the page and there's a general air of suspicion of accuracy, regardless of references.

I do at times, but mostly I just find the information on alternate, more trustworthy sites.

Actaully, I dont pay attention to the refferences. XD I just read the stuff I want to know and that's it. :x

Don't cite the Wiki article directly, then. Cite the external links and the references.
 
But then there's the times when the reference links back to Wikipedia. My friend and I found that out the other day...

There was an article a while back regarding a script that keeps track of who edits the pages on Wikipedia. It was brought up because of some edits by the CIA and other businesses. I could dig it up if you're interested...

The actual schooling wasn't bad, but going from an average of 12-13 hours of sleep a night to six-seven takes a bit of a toll on one's body.

I'm interested in this "hobo bum" you speak of...

I just remembered something out of 6th grade: Some chick claimed to be Harry Potter's wife and had us refer to her as "(first name) Potter." I remember I hit her in the nose with a soccer ball once. 'Twas an accident, of course.

Really, it was.

Just remembered that for some reason...

=_= I'm in a University program, though.. so I'm getting a Degree, not a diploma.

.O. And.. I've only had 4 days of class!
=_= On Tuesday I have to wak up at 5:30 AM and I get back home at 7:30PM..

Some people tend to work well under pressure. I know people who finish up projects while driving to school and still pull a decent grade. Are you one of those people?
