Deacon Masterson

Deacon senses the incoming gas before it is released thanks to his pressure ability. Immediately he ducks for cover, and then hears Lydia's voice enter his head telling him to go to the portal. "Guys, I'm getting you out of here!" Deacon shouts to Rex and Brian. Brian is able to make it through the portal shrouded in mist on his own now though. The field quickly turns Pink as Misty Terrain was used and Deacon feels hurt a little, but then Shadow appears and launches a giant Blue Flare at the police, probably injuring some of them. "Dang Shadow, I didn't know you could do that. It doesn't matter though, we were able to handle ourselves! You shouldn't have came in here..." Deacon said to Shadow. "It's now or never!" Deacon shouted as he dodged the gas.

Thinking on the fly Deacon recalled his Dragalge and sent out his Garchomp and Hydreigon. "Garchomp, Hydreigon. Help Shadow and Rex out of here please." Deacon said to them, and they obliged. Garchomp grabbed hold of the giant Rex and drug him through the portal till they were through, making sure not to squash Brian on the other side. After that, Hydreigon bumped into Shadow so that Shadow fell onto its lap and then it used Fly to go through the portal and set Shadow down on the other side. Now only Deacon had to make it through. Deacon jumped into the air, and then landed in front of the portal. He dived through it and the portal to the other side closed sealing anyone or anything else from coming through. Deacon slowly got up and dusted himself off in The Haven. "Good job, Garchomp and Hydreigon. Return." Deacon said as he returned each of them to their pokeballs and put the three back on his belt with the other three. "Well, that was close. I wonder why the police wanted to arrest us after having withdrawn earlier and not arresting us. Strange..." Deacon thought aloud. The cool, mysterious vibe of The Haven filled Deacon's lungs and helped him breath better as he sat down to recover some energy.

Pokemon
Spoiler:

Brian was sleeping. His head hurt and his lungs were filled with smoke and gas. His thin scrawny frame wasn't helping him now. He wasn't aware of what was going on around him. He was dreaming, but his dreams were more like a nightmare. His dreams were of the day he changed, the day he trusted Team Rocket.

It was a hot summer day, the sun was hot enough to cook an egg on the sidewalk. Brian was in the park walking with his pokemon, his sylveon had its ribbons wrapped around his arm as they walked. He bumped into someone who was running past. The man fell, spilling papers out of his overly-stuffed briefcase. "Watch where you're goin' runt" said the man, "I'm sorry" Brian said even though it was clearly the man's fault. "What are you doin' anyway?" the man replied "you that close to yer pokemon?" he grinned wickedly. "Why don't you come with me so I can make up for crashin' into ya?" "I can make you understand yer pokemon." "really??" Brian said excitedly. He followed the man, then the dream shifted.
He was standing in a room, two men laid on the floor, dead. Fire still burned on their equipment and their clothing. Brian stood horified, staring at his hands which burned brighter than the sun. He screamed, a terrible, gut-wrenching noise escaping his throat. Fire engulfed the room throwing whatever grunts were currently attacking him into the walls and melting the remainder of the equipment that was left from the experiment.

He started to wake up as he reached the part of his memory that he couldn't remember clearly. Colors blurred as he opened his eyes, he only saw brown. He must be dreaming still, he thought. As his view came into focus he realised that the brown was a tail, an eevee tail. "Hello" he said reaching out to pet the pokemon's head. He had made it to Haven. At least one good thing happened.

Lydia

After everyone else got through the portal, Lydia entered and returned to the Haven. Aerith had relocated next to Lydia's home so they were right outside of the vine covered door. Before she could relax, Deacon used his Pokeballs to recall his Pokemon right in front on one of the guardians. Lydia's eyes grew big with shock as she watched the ignorant Deacon continue on as if he had done nothing wrong. Glancing at the little stream she could see the water level already rising as Masumi approached and she had no doubt Arnara would be here soon as well. Her face twisted into a stern look as she walked over toward Deacon holding out her hand as her voice was filled with an iron resolve as she said so everyone could hear, "Deacon you violated the sanity of the Haven. You have two options at this point: hand over your Pokeballs so I may release the Pokemon inside them and destroy the devices, or exile from the Haven."

Looking into Deacon's eyes her voice entered his mind alone as she softly said to him, "I am sorry I was not able to cover the rules of the Haven to you before you arrived due to the circumstances. However there are no exceptions, I hate the human obsession of forcing Pokémon into servitude as much as the Guardians, but I wanted the choice to abandon such barbaric actions willingly not forcefully. If you choose Exile I will place you somewhere safe and let the others know where to find you."

As Lydia spoke to Deacon a larger than average Samurott marched in a regal manner down the stream. Once he was close to the group his right front paw gripped the blade found of his left front leg as he stared down his nose at Deacon. His armor showed the evidence of many battles and his eyes showed strength as he looked at the Hybrid. A Ninetails also appeared from the woods with three Vulpixes of various ages following her. She sat further away from the group as her nine beautiful tails waving back and forth as she waited to see what would happen.

Harvey Scott

Harvey's watched as the Hybrids resisted. They began to fight back turning their fake criminal records into real ones. Sadly this meant they would not be easily captured, but Scott could turn this situation in his favor. "Now let us turn the world against you…" whispered the man as he lifted a glass of bourbon to his lips. Now he just needed to make some calls and insure this story made the headlines. If anything, he would reduce the spots they could hide, which would make it easier to walk them into a trap…

Shadow:

After everyone was through the portal, Shadow unleashed blue flare and exploded through the front of the house, burning, but not killing those who treated them as criminals. Shadow no longer cared. The world already treated them like criminals. In time they would be the world's saviors, but for now if they wanted to treat them like criminals, then they would start acting like one from time to time. A Hydreigon had brought Shadow back through the portal. Which was a bit annoying, but it couldn't be helped.

Tulip was now there, probably teleporting with Gardevoir as pokemon could freely go in and out with out problems. It was the bond in which lead them to each other. Noivern was able to sense Shadow and Tulip was able to sense the group. Everyone was now in the Haven other than Val and Gray and whoever else Gray had met.

"You may have been able to handle yourselves, but as long as I am around, I will help regardless unless otherwise told." Shadow announced.

Shadow walked outside and to the creek. He had went against everything he had said. He sat near the creek and looked at the water as it flowed by. Every now and then he would see a baby fish pokemon or two that fit in the water. Down the stream, a poliwag played with a poliwhirl

Is it a good idea to be a voice of reason? Everytime I have tried to work through things with peace, it comes back to bite me in the ass. Shadow thought.

"No... I have to stick with what I think is right... I can't become violent... I just can't... Some... someone has to be the voice of reason." Shadow said out loud, not meaning to. He was nearing his limit of patience.

Eevee came running across to Shadow and hopped in its lap. Shadow looked at the time, 1:00 PM. Shadow need to head to the Ice Cave soon, but he still hadn't had a chance to say anything. HE had become annoyed at the events that were taking place, and with that thought, the stream started to rise. Shadow quickly jumped up to avoid getting wet. One thing he hated was that he could not enjoy water like he used to yet. He had not figured out how to prevent water from hurting him and neutralizing his powers. He wasn't sure if he could. Currently the only way he thought would help was if he somehow became part ice, water, or grass. But it was unsure how to forcefully become a new type. He needed info from the Rockets. Even if that meant working with them. He didn't want to though. If he had to, he would steal info. However, he knew their had to be another way to become balanced without becoming a different type. However, that was in the complete back of his mind.

"Deacon you violated the sanity of the Haven. You have two options at this point: hand over your Pokeballs so I may release the Pokemon inside them and destroy the devices, or exile from the Haven." Lydia's voice entered his mind.

Shadow started to become angry at this point, however, this time. He could do nothing. There had to be safety for the group. But he didn't want to let Deacon be thrown out of the Haven. Deacon or Lydia either had to convince them that it was a mistake or Deacon would have to do something that was asked of him.

Shadow moved out of the way as a massive Samurott marched passed him. The massive pokemon gripped a sword at its side. Shadow looked around as a Ninetails with 3 Vulpix appeared, but sat away from the group. Shadow wasn't sure what to do... If they were like family.... he couldn't allow Deacon to be exiled. But he didn't want Deacon to be forced to leave... Shadow was torn... So so torn... he wanted to so badly just hope on Noivern and run away from leadership. He looked at Lydia... Deacon... the new kid... Rex... Orchird... Tulip... and then he eyes fell on Arryn, Shadow's eyes pleading for help.

Arryn... please.... I.... I don't know what to do... I am so confused right now that I can't think straight.... All I want to do is leave everything behind for now. Shadow thought as he looked at Arryn.

Arryn; Ice & Dark

Just ignore her, Arryn cautions herself as Orchid makes comments. Just the sound of her voice is enough to stir violent thoughts.

Instead, Arryn focused on the Haven Lydia had taken the group to. She follows her and Shadow around from the back, observing quietly and registering the information given. It's not a bad place to stay for the time being, at least until things quiet down, but there was one issue -

"Deacon you violated the sanity of the Haven. You have two options at this point: hand over your Pokeballs so I may release the Pokemon inside them and destroy the devices, or exile from the Haven."Lydia firmly stood her ground, face twisted in anger as her beliefs are being tested in her own Haven.

Shadow's panicked eyes find hers and she steps forward, stretching a hand out between Lydia and Deacon to diffuse the situation before it became too much to handle.

"Lydia, I understand your beliefs but right now, we need to be together... as a group." Being divided when their worst enemy is out there, hunting them down, is the worst situation they can be in. Even if Deacon was moved somewhere else safe that the group had access to, tensions among them would rise and it's just not worth it.

"Reconsider, please," she hates to plead, really hates to, but the group needs to be kept together no matter what.

Rex Dart

Before Rex even has a clue what's going on, Lydia creates another portal, Shadow appears, creating more fire, Brian summons pink mist, and Deacon and his dragons haul Rex through the portal.

Rex isn't used to being pushed around like that. His immense size and strength make it hard for anyone to move him if he doesn't want to. And the teleportation just throws him completely off balance. So it is he finds himself in a sylvan glen: Dazed, confused.

Angry.

Lydia's damn psychic voice just makes him angrier, especially when some Samurott strolls up like he iwns the place and threatens Rex's friends with a sword. Rex roars in frustration, charging the Samurott. With his strength boosted to his maximum, the water type stands little chance, but Rex doesn't want to fight. He just wants the oversized otter to back off.

So he grabs it by its arms, hoisting it over his head. "Storm..." He spins, throwing the Samurott headfirst into the ground by Ninetales. "THROW!" He places himself between the guardians and his friends.

"Enough! This is supposed to be a place of safety! I should not be greeted by threats and displays of intimidation! Especially not from some hypocritical rodent." He glares at Samurott, arms raised and fists clenched. "How about this, 'Guardian'? I'll leave your friends alone, and you leave mine alone. Including their Pokemon partners."

Rex is fully aware that he's angered the guardians, but they've angered him as well.

Spoiler:

Brian stood up, his throat still sore from inhaling the smoke and gas. When he looked around he was stunned. It was beautiful. He was standing next to what looked like a vine doorway. The whole place was wonderful, however the sunlight was a bit blinding. He took a few wobbly steps struggling as he had not yet recovered from the events of earlier in the day. He thought he spotted Deacon and headed in his direction. Just as he started walking towards Deacon he heard a commotion coming from in his direction, so he sped up his pace stumbling a few times. He could just make out the conversation.
"Deacon you violated the sanity of the Haven. You have two options at this point: hand over your Pokeballs so I may release the Pokemon inside them and destroy the devices, or exile from the Haven."
What? Were pokeballs not allowed in haven? He decided against speeking up, he was in terrable shape and feared if a fight broke out he couldn't defend himself. He just hoped they could work the issue out themselves, after all Deacon knew these people better than he did. And it looked like the others were just as concerned as Brian was about the situation.
"Lydia, I understand your beliefs but right now, we need to be together... as a group." "Reconsider, please," Said a girl who he hadn't met yet.
Then Rex tried to intimidate some pokemon, who Brian assumed are the guards of the haven, throwing one at another.
"Enough! This is supposed to be a place of safety! I should not be greeted by threats and displays of intimidation! Especially not from some hypocritical rodent." He glared at the Samurott, his arms raised and fists clenched. "How about this, 'Guardian'? I'll leave your friends alone, and you leave mine alone. Including their Pokemon partners."
Brian realized that Rex didn't want to fight, if he did those pokemon would be knocked out by now. He decided to speak up and try to calm everyone down. "I know none of you know me yet," Brian started "But I don't think using pokeballs is a bad thing, I believe they help to protect your pokemon friends from harm while you are uncertain about what lies ahead. I probably won't change your mind, but I needed to say my opinion. After all, he did save my life." Brian coughed after that last part, he had exhausted his voice and most of his strength to say that. He sat down leaning against his fennekin while his sylveon hugged him with his ribbons. He had drained a significant amount of his energy when he had used his abilities, not knowing how to use them properly had caused them to do a lot of harm to his body. Brian wondered if that was enough. If he had to, he would stick by his new friend even if it meant leaving this place. Deacon had not only saved his life but had also calmed him down and helped to give him confidence when he needed it most. Brian wished he knew what to do.

Deacon Masterson

Just as Deacon had made it through the portal and saved his friends, returning his Pokemon when Lydia walked up to him. "I am sorry I was not able to cover the rules of the Haven to you before you arrived due to the circumstances. However there are no exceptions, I hate the human obsession of forcing Pokémon into servitude as much as the Guardians, but I wanted the choice to abandon such barbaric actions willingly not forcefully. If you choose Exile I will place you somewhere safe and let the others know where to find you." Deacon then waited as the water level rose in the area and a large Samurott with a sword came up to Deacon, facing him imposingly.

"So, Pokeballs aren't allowed here.. Huh... Okay then. Have it your way." Deacon said. Then he did something that would surprise everyone around him. "Go, Dragalge! Go, Altaria! Go, Salamence! Go, Hydreigon! Go, Garchomp! Go, Goodra!" Deacon said as he one by one threw his pokeballs into the air and released his six Dragon Pokemon around him in The Haven. Then, while the six pokeballs were in the air Deacon shifted his hand lightning fast and sent a Dragon Pulse at all six of them, destroying them completely. Though Deacon's Pokemon weren't bound to him by Pokeballs anymore and were free, all six of them stood beside him and glared at the Samurott and Ninetails, growling fiercely.

"I have no problem with them not being bound to me by balls. I have raised them all from their basic forms and wrestled with them since they were babies. They are all loyal to me, even without Pokeballs they will still follow me and not leave my side. However, since you have threatened me they don't take kindly to that." Deacon said as he walked up to the Samurott and all six of his Dragon Pokemon followed him. "The way I see it Samurott, you have two choices. You can either try to attack me and all six of my Pokemon will unleash their fury on you and destroy your Haven, or you can swallow your pride and back down now as I have fixed my mistake. You or your guardian friends try to lay one attack on any of my Pokemon, myself, or my friends and things will get very, very ugly for your home very, very quickly. Deacon knew he had won this battle and his Intimidate hybrid ability was working like a charm. Samurott and its guardian friends had no choice but to back down now, as Deacon and all his Pokemon combined covered every side of him and easily outmatched and outnumbered the Haven Pokemon. "Now, what's it going to be?" Deacon said with a stern tone.

Lydia

Everything happened so fast there was no controlling the situation. Once Rex attacked the Samurott there was no return for the group. They were guests, now they were intruders. Turning her head toward Aerith as the Ninetails and Samurott prepared to attack she knew what action she had to take. Summoning forth a vast amount of energy she suddenly teleported the entire group to a far edge of the forest. Exhausted Lydia's legs were shaky from weakness and her breathing was heavy. Tears began to appear in her eyes, and she wanted to lash out at the group.

Instead she stood there for several seconds gathering her thoughts before addressing the others in a weakened hopeless voice, "Why are you all so selfish? We were all tortured and imprisoned for the amusement of others, and I hoped because of that you would have more open minds to the sufferings of others. While you casually use such devices without pain or terrible memories, you forget those very devices brought others suffering much in the same way. How do you feel when you see others proudly wearing the black with red Rs that are a symbol of your tormentors? These devices you use remind many Pokémon of the crimes they were forced to commit, of the times they were force to mate against their will then watch their children get torn away from them, or how their loyalty toward a master was repaid only in pain then rejection. The Haven is a place of healing, but to be so it has to be protected against any source of suffering, including such symbols.

You all were guests so you could rest and recover from your attackers. Had your enemies come for you, the Guardians would have risked their lives to fight them off. Instead, your insensitivity and pride turned you into the enemy that had to be removed. By displaying the willingness to take action Masumi insured Pokemon within the Haven that desire to harm trainers would not act against the offender. He did not draw the blade, thus showing he was willing but not wanting to fight. Yet one of you took it as a reason to attack your host."

Looking around at the other for a second Lydia shook her head and slowly started to walk off, "I need some time alone… I plan to still come with you all, but I am not a member of your group, nor do I want to be. I could never belong to a group who accepts others because of what they are, and not who they are. It is clear you only care that the others around you are Hybrids as you look down on both Pokémon and humans alike, forgetting you are part of both. The group lacks a moral foundation and does not care what its members do… you allow those who have attempted to hurt others without cause to join, because they are Hybrids. You jump to the defense of the group, not because they are doing what is right, but because they are Hybrids. You open your arms to Hybrids without considering their character or heart. I wanted to see your group bring hope in a dark world… but since joining I have only been met with despair and pain."

Lydia then shuffled wearily past Deacon and his dragons and pushed into the forest toward a small spring she knew about. She was tired and her heart was heavy with despair. She approached the small spring and took off her clothes before stepping into the cool water. She began washing off her body, while thinking on what to do next. Suddenly, there was a flash and a small bag appeared on top of a nearby rock. Aerith had sent her the few belongings she had requested sent to her. Three books, an old wooden staff, and her remaining clothes. Looking at her few belongings only made the woman feel worse as she did her best to clean herself.

Spoiler:

Everything was so chaotic that Brian barely noticed when the world around him changed. He must have been teleported by that girl he realized. He looked up at her seeing tears in her eyes. "Why is she crying?" he thought "She was the one being unreasonable." He was about to ask what happened when she started to speak.
"Why are you all so selfish? We were all tortured and imprisoned for the amusement of others, and I hoped because of that you would have more open minds to the sufferings of others. He felt awful. He completely understood her point. He took out his pokeballs and smashed them on a rock. Tears streaming down his face, Brian tried to stand and follow her. He wanted to apologize to her for everything he had done. "If it wasn't for me the attack wouldn't have happened, Deacon and Rex would have been informed of the rules of Haven and none of these issues would have occurred." Brian thought. He stumbled and fell to the ground, tripping over a tree root. "uhhhh" He groaned "How long does it take to recover from being turned into a mutant, chased for miles, attacked, and hit with sleeping gas?" He said aloud, not meaning to.

Deacon Masterson

Deacon looked nonchalantly on and then grimaced at what he had heard. He then followed Lydia to where she was going and stood a good distance away but within hearing range for her. "Lydia... This is Deacon. First I am truly sorry for what happened, but if I remembered correctly it wasn't my fault as I hadn't heard what the rules were for the Haven. Then, after I obliged to the rules and destroyed my Pokeballs, the guardians of The Haven, your home, still didn't accept that I fixed my mistake or forgive myself or even my friends, and in my opinion, that in its self is pretty selfish of them, despite what we may or may not have done. They had the choice to forgive us and grow together, but instead chose to exile us and yourself, which I am truly sorry about that as well. You're right though. This group isn't unified, Rex was a wild card when he attacked Samurott, which is ultimately reprehensible, but in the end he was looking out for us. In the end this group isn't unified yet and I think it will be a long time until it is. A random assortment of people and personalities isn't going to be automatically unified days after being formed. I'm afraid it will take much longer than that. And with Gray gone and no true head it's hard to decide who and who shouldn't be in our group. But I will tell you this. There is hope. As time goes on we will define our loyalties to each other and grow as friends, but that will take time. Someone will step up as a true head as Gray obviously hasn't done a good job on that so far, and then we will begin to become more unified. But this separation the guardians of The Haven employed of exile won't solve anything. In fact, is is counter active to draw lines. Just imagine what would of happened if we were never against the police in the first place. The house of that poor family wouldn't have been destroyed and the we wouldn't have come to The Haven in the first place. The police would also have come to understand us over time as well as the general public and fight back with us against Team Rocket's evil tyranny. But since they forced our hand it was their fault. The same goes for The Haven exiling us. You talk as if this separation is what makes our group a mess, but truly it is what divides us and detriments to our safety together. The only way things will get better is if the flow is reversed and our group becomes more accepted by other societies like The Haven and The Police, but only if that happens. Otherwise you are right, this group isn't unified. It's your choice to not join us. I can tell you for sure though that the longer this anxiety between our group and the society of this world deepens, the worse the future of this world will be for people like us. If you don't want to be an added detriment to the flow of unity then you'll stick with us and understand each other, otherwise there's no other way hybrids will ever become accepted. And you are wrong about me and my friends. We don't just let 'any' hybrid into the group because they are like us. We only let those who are of pure heart join us and only if they prove their loyalties. The initial goal for this group is to rebel against Team Rocket and destroy them which would in turn better effect everything else in a ripple-like form. Otherwise it's pointless for any of us to still be together. If you still think that we don't care about each other being true to the heart and caring for each other, then you clearly don't know my friends or myself. Someday if we all start to work together and become more unified, taking in and understanding each other's differences, only then will hybrids become more accepted in the world and only then will we be more unified. I can see it now.... A world in which all hybrids are accepted as commonplace as normal people in society. Now, do you want to work towards a better future with us and make this possible? Or do you want to let your own words bite you and continue this flow of separation. It's your choice, and I will give you time to think about it. Choose wisely. The fate of this group as well as the world may just be riding on it. Thanks for taking the time to read this, and again I am truly sorry and feel guilty that you lost your home. If you ever need someone to vent at or need a place to stay I happen to own a cottage deep in the mountains. I am always willing to lend an ear and help you feel better, despite what some of my friend's intentions might be right now."

Deacon finished his speech to Lydia. He hoped she would see reason that the hybrid group's intentions were good, and hear him out about his apology.

Rex Dart

Great. More teleportation. Rex is starting to get real tired of that. Lydia projects her thoughts into everyone's heads, tears in her eyes, specifically mentioning Rex's actions as the reason for their departure. He growls, angry that she would blame him like that. Didn't she realize he'd saved Deacon?

Or did he? Deacon had destroyed his Pokeballs, and Lydia's words compel Brian to do the same. Rex looks at his sole remaining Pokeball, containing Tyrant. No way he'd smash that. It was the only guaranteed safe place his beloved dinosaur had.

Everyone else is just being sentimental, caught up in all the emotion and drama. Rex is inclined to agree with the voice in his head. He's ready to tell off Lydia, defend his actions, but she walks away, claiming to need some time alone. Rex is about to follow her, but Deacon seems to have a similar idea. Besides, his chest is starting to hurt. Maintaining his full strength is taxing. He takes a deep breath, letting it out in one quick sigh, returning to his normal size as he does.

With the battles over and the danger passed, he has time to think about his actions. Not just today, but since coming to Johto. Everything he's done has been for his friends, to help the group. And all he's gotten in return has been anger, insult, and blame. The only upside to his actions has been a spark of friendship with Deacon and Brian, which then led to more anger, pain, and problems.

He sighs, turning his back to the group. "I'm going for a walk." He mutters, to no one in particular. "I'll catch up with you guys later."

Shadow:

Shadow watched everything unfold. Arryn tried to get everyone to see reason, but she didn't get a chance with everyone acting like they did. Rex attacking the one guardian and then Deacon threatening them when they had done nothing other than wanted to defend what they thought was right.

And became even more annoyed when both the new kid and Deacon crushed their pokeballs. He punched the ground hard with his fist. It wasn't a move, nor did it do any damage to the ground. He was just letting anger out.

Do they not understand what happens in a poke ball? How pokemon can communicate with one another in a poke ball world? How it was like a house for them? Did they not know that? Lucario had told me what it was like. It had sounded much better than the real world in all honesty. Pokemon are given a choice and my pokemon choose to stay. Shadow thought has he clenched his fists.

At that moment, Noivern came flying over with Lucario on its back. Eevee had already been with Shadow. Noivern and Lucario landed beside Shadow. Shadow nodded and all three of his pokemon went back into their own pokemon with no command.

Shadow looked around. Knowing he was failing badly as leader. He knew everyone was probably starting to doubt him. He wanted to leave. He wanted to leave everything behind. Turn his back on everyone he had met and became close to over the last few days. But he knew that was the easy way out. And it wasn't the right thing to do. If he wanted to be a leader with Arryn, he would have to become better. He would have to start doing things that others couldn't. His eyes fell on the new kid who had fallen.

Shadow walked over to the new kid and grabbed his shirt and lifted him up, standing him on his feet.

"No, none of this is your fault. This is my fault for not acting and depending on Arryn to do everything herself.. Your a fire type hybrid aren't you? I can tell because I am as well. What's your name kid? My name is Shadow... I am the leader.... no I am one of the leaders of this group. Don't blame yourself for this. If anything, blame me." Shadow said.

Shadow looked over at two fox like pokemon, a Fennekin and a Sylveon who seemed to be somewhat confused. Shadow squated down and placed a hand on both of them, and started to pet them gently.

"You have to nice pokemon here, but you shouldn't have smashed those pokeballs. There is a whole different world inside those pokeball that no human has ever seen. My Lucario told me. And honestly, it sounded much better than this world." Shadow said, raising to his feet.

He looked at Arryn and mouthed. I am sorry to her.

Shadow wanted his friends to be safe and because of his failure to act, they had been kicked out with him not even doing anything about it.

Arryn; Ice & Dark

Everything went to shit fast.

Rex attacked one of the Guardians, Deacon and the new kid broke their pokeballs followed by Lydia teleporting them all once more to the edge of a forest.

Something stabs at her when Shadow mentions depending on her to handle the situation. I should have... even five days with this group feels like so long given the circumstances. I should have done better. Arryn stays to the side, observing the reactions to Lydia's outburst carefully and decides on a next course of action.

I'm not one for speeches, especially motivational ones, but talking to them all one by one seems like a start.

Rex leaves on his own and she doesn't blame him. Even though it was better to stay together, these people need to cool off first.

"Deacon," Arryn walks over, tentative as she hadn't treated him very welcoming a few hours ago. "You didn't have to release your Pokemon like that." Although she understood Lydia's point of view and found herself questioning her own decisions - if her Pokemon disliked their homes that much, they would make it abundantly clear. She would never keep them in those balls against their will.

"Uh, sorry if I wasn't that... nice earlier. It's been a hectic week and with the new faces popping in, tensions are rising. It isn't your fault, I just reacted instead of acting like a leader." Referring to herself as a leader comes out weird and strained, as if it doesn't belong. "Bear with me, ok? I'll work on getting better at this."

She steps away from him, even mustering up a smile and walking towards the new kid who didn't look a day over twelve. He looks so young!

"Hey kid," she stands beside Shadow. "I'm Arryn."

"I, uh, my names Brian." He said. "I'm a fire and fairy type Hybrid created from my own pokemons' dna, so technically we're family. I just wanted to start treating them like it." Brian wanted so badly to share why he was so afraid, why even before he was a hybrid he was constantly scared of doing something wrong. He thought he could trust them, but he just didn't know. It was better that they didn't know his secrets though. They were secret for a reason.
"I need to know why she was so upset." Brian responded "I want to understand why she lashed out like that, it might help me to understand why I lash out in anger."
He started to walk away but heard a voice and fell backwards towards Shadow,
"Hey kid," "I'm Arryn."
his mind raced. Was Shadow going to catch him? Or would he ignore him and let him get hurt like all the other people in his life?

Shadow instantly became interested in the boy with that line.

Shadow smiled as Arryn came up, "Hey kid, I'm Arryn." She said.

She had already talked to Deacon about what he had done. Shadow was going to try to make up for it soon.

Suddenly Brian fell back toward Shadow and instantly Shadow put a hand behind his back to stop him from falling. Shadow smiled and looked at Arryn and started to laugh.

"Well Brian, you are welcome to stay in the group. It seems Rex and Deacon has already accepted you, so I will as well. I am sorry for the mess we are currently in, but I have a plan to make up for not acting. And just because your pokemon are in their poke balls, doesn't mean you aren't treating them like family. If your pokemon didn't like you, they would make it obvious. I recently just let four of my seven pokemon go. The three that stayed chose to stay." Shadow said .

Pokemon: None
Type: Electric, Fighting
Mood: Irritable

My session with Val has been interrupted by a sudden thud that came from the entrance back to the mountain. On the ground, was a rather awkward looking girl.

"... Ah, So you're the one who's been following me... I noticed you after you knocked down that boulder a ways back." I said to her, no longer being somewhat intimate towards Val.

"I didn't think there would be anybody else but me. Judging by how you followed me, you seem to be familiar with the mountain's interior lay out..."

"I want you to show me where the strongest Pokemon might be... If you fail... I'll have Val handle you." I told her, threatening her to see how she would respond.

I had a fondness for testing people and observing reactions. I wonder myself when did I even start caring about other people.

Deacon Masterson

Deacon walked back to the main group and then sat on a stump with a guilty look on his face. He quickly stood up as Arryn arrived over to him to talk to him. I'll work on getting better at this."

Hearing Arryn talk like this only made Deacon feel more guilty, and right now he wasn't feeling too great. Not only had he upset The Haven but he had upset Lydia as well. He felt sad deep inside, one of the few emotions Deacon did not like to show, or show often, but it was there. He put his hand on Arryn's elbow quickly halfway through her talking. "Stop. It's not your fault, Arryn. If I had known beforehand none of this would have had to happen. I didn't know though, but I didn't have a problem releasing my Pokemon from their balls and still don't as of now. I forgive you. You weren't acting mean earlier, you were just being yourself and it was a tense situation. You will get better over time as being a leader, and I'm sure you'll make a great one for us. Don't be too hard on yourself, all of this is my fault. I think I should go now.. I'll be back soon. You guys can contact me on the C-gear if need be, otherwise I need some thinking time." Deacon said to her and the group in general. Deacon then proceeded to hop onto his Hydreigon and it flew off with Deacon into the air leaving Deacon's other five Pokemon in the care of the group while Deacon fought back his own tears. "I can't do anything right. I can't protect my friends like Darren from getting killed, and I can't stop myself from hurting the ones I care about like Lydia. I am worthless." Deacon thought to himself while soaring through the skies on his Hydreigon.

Arryn; Ice & Dark

"Don't sweat it, Brian," Arryn adds when Shadow finishes comforting the kid and stopping his fall. He seemed entirely to naive and innocent to be joining this group and helping them stop Team Rocket once and for all... but, she might feel worse sending him out to be on his own.

"To set the ground rules: no going off on your own without speaking up," Arryn learned that the hard way. If Shadow hadn't caught her sneaking out that night, her body would be thrown into an unmarked grave by now. "If you have a problem with someone in the group, talk it through. Don't rely on the heat of the moment and your basic impulses."

We're Hybrids; we are wired differently than humans and ignoring that burning desire to settle things with a fight was a must to keep this group functional.

"Lastly, if you have or find any information about Team Rocket then tell us outright." The last 'rule' was mainly to satisfy her own incessant need for knowledge for all that the company stands for. Know thy enemy and all that jazz.

You guys can contact me on the C-gear if need be, otherwise I need some thinking time."

Arryn bites her lip as Deacon takes off on his Hydreigon. She looks at Brian expectantly, "seriously, tell us if you want some time away from everyone."

It was unavoidable. Eventually, this group would split off separately to catch their bearings and figure stuff out. Which unfortunately meant the constant worry that someone was captured, controlled or in Darren's case, killed.

Arryn& Shadow

Shadow and Arryn had both put their hands up to catch Brian at the same time. There fingers touched as they both pushed him slightly forward to stand him straight again.

Shadow looked in the direction of Deacon, only to see him flying away. Shadow sighed as the group was on the brink of oblivion at that moment in time. Shadow knew he had to do something. Something that a leader would do. He looked over in the direction of Lydia who was upset from being thrown out of her home. Shadow felt his heart break. He took a deep breath and took Arryn's hand.

"Excuse us for a moment Brian." Shadow said, slightly pulling Arryn off to the side where no one could hear them. Once he felt like it was a good distance away, he looked into Arryn's eyes.

"Arryn, this probably isn't the best time, but I need to take a trip to the Ice Cave. But it is not to get away from the group... ok maybe slightly... but my main motive is to find an ice stone to evolve Eevee, Eevee should be ready to evolve now." Shadow waited a moment and then continued, "I also have to do something about us getting thrown out. I want to see if I can talk to the Guardians of the Haven to allow us back in. If not us, then at least Lydia. She risked everything to protect us and I did nothing to try to calm the situation. If I hadn't told everyone to do what they wanted, if I had stepped up to the plate and taken control... none of this would have happened. Making Gray leave was also my fault... I have to at least try to do something right for the group. If it means leaving the Haven myself to allow everyone to stay safe... I will do it."

Arryn frowns.

He's leaving and I'm left to lead this broken group on my own... she's upset for a moment and for a selfish second, wishes he could just stay to help her out - but he needs this and by the pure look of desperation in his eyes, Arryn relaxes and squeezes his hand.

"I can handle things here while you're gone." It's hard to say. They've been glued to each other for a large portion of the day and outright telling him to leave was difficult. "Do what you have to do. I'll try and keep the group together."

Even if her attempts are fruitless, Arryn refuses to let him down - and Gray. Imagine the insults I'll get when he comes back and finds I couldn't even make sure that the kid is safe. Then again, his insults always give her a good incentive to put him in his place. That was always fun.

"If you need me for anything, you can get me on the C-Gear." I just have to find a way to charge it up... maybe we can move into town for a bit.

Shadow looks at Arryn, he knows that she must be hurting from what he had just told her. He wanted to stay and help her, but if she went with him, well there would be no one to lead.

"I am sorry Arryn. I would love for you to go with me, but the group needs someone to lead. If anyone can bring the group together it is you. You are the one that started getting everyone in the group anyways aren't you?" Shadow smiled.

He gave her a long hug, "Don't worry. I will be back as soon as possible. Don't worry about me. But if I need something or need to tell you something, I will message you on the C-Gear." Shadow said, as he backed away slightly.

Shadow noticed that she was concerned about the C-Gear, "Hmm... I thought I had told everyone, but the C-Gears also run on solar energy.... I guess that would have helped out a bit for some..." Shadow smiled, squeezing her hand back.

"I might have a surprise for you as well when I get back." Shadow winked.

When he pulled back, she almost stepped with him to prolong the moment. Arryn wasn't sure what the heck was going on but she knew that him leaving for an unmeasurable amount of time was troubling. She already had Gray, Tulip, Rex and Deacon to worry about, along with Lydia and Shadow leaving was the icing on the cake.

"Surprise?" The real surprise was his wink and behaviour. Losing control and regaining it really changed him... "I'll hold you to that." She releases his hand and crosses her arms. "Don't disappoint."

Arryn backs away and returns to the group, finding Brian immediately to make sure he didn't run off. She casts her eyes to the trees above them and searches for a suitable vine to remake her shard into a necklace. It didn't work so well in her bag or pocket. It had to have contact with her skin to really take affect.

Shadow smiled, "Don't worry. I will try my best."

He watched her walk away toward Brian and then he turned to Lydia. Shadow walked over to Lydia now, and put a hand on her shoulder.

"Lydia, I am sorry. If you don't mind, I want to try to fix what has been done wrong. Please teleport me to the Haven so I can talk to the Guardians." Shadow said in a calm voice.
