Not, First of all i don't like the name, but could you just stop spaming about it? Give them some time? I know Gabe is working a it... And Darthatron is Making an über cool "All in one Editor" (Not a mapping Editor)
So please, 4 Las pages of this thread is just spam?
I realy understand that it's hard to wait...
But just one page ago, some guy said "It's been a year, and you only done 2 tools?" Fisrt of all, did i miss some thing, or did Pokespam never promise any one about a lot of tool? They done a lot other stuff then just tool making!
And Secong, Then i think you kind of Forget about Thex4, Horus, GFF and me.. We all made tools for DP hacking, Just because they aint in the first post... That is only telling us that the thread is not getting very updated..

This is great. I hack action replay codes as a hobby, so does anyone know anything about the engine? Do the inner workings work the same, or have changes from the last generation of pokemon games?
I'll help as much as I can.
 
Hey, guys, I'm totaly noob in rom hacking, but I'm learning fast.
The thing is: I'm trying to translate Pokémon D, but I'm having a problem. I unpacked the nds file, uncompressed msg.narc with narctool, learned how to use poketext, edited a file (341.bin, where's the introduction text), reencoded this file and put it into msg.narc again. But now, I can't repack the rom. I mean, I did it, but no$gba says the rom is crashed...
Oh, and there's a weird detail: when I unpack the nds file, the folder created is smaller than the original file. And when I repack it, the final nds file is smaller than the original...

Can somebody help me?! I learned a lot in this forum, but i can't solve that...

Well the smaller file size is normal and is nothing bad, but I don't know. What unpacker are you using? I use DSLazy.
 
I'm using that too...
I guess that I'm not editing the file the wrong way, but here is what I do: Every letter has two bits, where the last one is 01. I saved a printscreen when I was editing. Don't know if will help, but possible I'm doing something wrong:

AFAIK, the file doesn't work with no$gba after unpacking and repacking. It does work with the IDeaS emulator though. If you wanted to, you could make an unmodified unpacked-->repacked .NDS file, and do a comparison with the modified unpacked-->repacked .NDS file. Then find those bytes in the 64MB from the original unpacked-->repacked .NDS file, and replace them with the ones from the modified unpacked-->repacked .NDS file.

Example of a directory:
1-Original
2-Copy of Original
3-Original-->Unpacked-->Repacked
4-Original-->Unpacked-->Modified-->Repacked

Now compare 3 and 4 and find the differences in 4 from 3. Now modify 2 by searching for those original parts in 3, and replacing them with the ones from the same location in 4.

If thats not clear enough let me know and I'll try to go into a little more detail, although this should be good enough to figure it out.

Note: All these steps are just to get it working with no$gba if you're really that desperate. If you don't care, then just repack as normal and use with IDeaS.

I'm using Tahaxan, I've been looking through the files and I haven't found anything
of controling the 3D polygons, I'm trying help as much as I can. ;)

Well, I tried with IDeaS and didn't work too. I don't know if I understood that other method well, but what I did was search every bytes that original_repacked have in common with original. Then, if those bytes were different in the modified_repacked, I should change but I had to stop in a section that doesn't exist in the original file and is totally diferent from original_repacked to modified_repacked.

I figured out another thing: the modified_repacked is bigger, because every bin files extracted from msg.narc are listed in a extra section, that doesn't exists in the original_repacked. I tried delete that section, so both files could be equivallent, but it doesn't works neither...

Considering that, I think the problem is the narc repacking, am I right?!
 
probably not - well mabe thats also a problem but chances are that its not the only one.
when i first hacked the japanese game to be able to dump ram to an m3 type device it would not run brecause ndstool placed some kind of homebrew marker below the header which made the m3 and emulators think it was homebrew. I don't know if that still happens with current ndstool but it might be woth a try fixing this problem was quite simple i quest pasted the data from the old rom there. That way you should be able to get it to boot at least

the narc might be a bit more complicated (if it's a problem) you probably know that natriums narctool is for narc with filenames pokemon uses narc without filenames. so if thats a problem a rewrite is needed. for constant size stuff you could avoid it by just parsing the narc and replacing the data (i do that in pokedspic). poketextds(WIP) will need a full narc implementation though which is one reason why its not released (the other is the fact that i am to lazy to write a crappy gui)
 
Hello I want translate Pokémon Diamond but I can't HEX edit, though I learn very fast.

FDuarte, can you send me your TBL file? Also there's a way to get out more chars from the game, for example accent letters like: ö ü á ó ő ú ű í ? (é too but we got it before)

Any help would be awesome. Thank you very much everyone!
