4th Gen Diamond / Pearl Q&A Thread

Hi, I'm not too sure this post would actually go in this thread but it seems like a good place as any. Anyway I really want to transfer some pokemon from one game to another (both games are pokemon diamond) but I don't have another ds at hand, so is there any other way to accomplish this task? I've all ready tried the GTS, but that thing doesn't really work: my pokemon never appear.

nope unfortunately. What you can do is trade with someone with your first fc and then get them to trade it to the diamond you want your pokemon to be in.

Do you have a Nintendo Wii with Pokemon Ranch? If so, you can use it. Otherwise you need another DS. :/

yeah I forgot about that as well. I guess because it's somewhat downplayed because it's just a storage game. But if I had a wii I'd get it. It would be very useful.

Is there a reason to why people spell Suicune as Suicane >.>

Ranch cannot trade between files. It can only withdraw/deposit pokemon from the same file. If you do a new game, those pokemon are trapped in the Ranch.

Your best bet is finding a nice person and sharing friend codes.

Seriously? Well, that makes it an even more pointless purchase. :/

Migrating Problems

When I try and Migrate the man tells me that I have to stock the game. When I try and migrate it tells me I have all ready stocked the game. What seems to be the problem?

This happened to me too...

In my case the pokemon I was transferring were in Leaf Green. I transferred them, and while they were going over, the leaf green game got bumped. My pokemon were lost in the cyber world place, and now both games don't have them and the man is stuck. No more migrating for me. =(

Happiny Experience

I was just playing my Pearl game and I just came up with something in my head...why does Happiny give you so much experience when battling it? I mean it is awesome but I would really like to know and maybe some other people would like to know too...so do you guys know why Happiny gives you so much experience, when battling it?

Hun did you really just start a thread about it?

On topic. Maybe because its so bulky like its family Chansey and Blissey.

If anything, baby pokemon would give the least amount of experience.
The Chansey line have the largest exp. yield along with Arceus, so they'll give the most experince when defeated in battle.

Thinking about buying .... Opion needed.

Hey guys.
I have a Nintendo DS (Normal not lite)
I wanted to traded it in for a Lite along with some old gamecube games so i can buy either Diamond or Pearl.Im not to sure with the whole Wifi thing but i do have wireless internet at a good connection speed if that helps. I guess what im asking is :

- What should I buy Pokemon Diamond/Pearl or wait for Platinuim to come out in Australia?

- Should I keep my DS normal or get a Lite?

- What Materials I need so I can play online with my DS (Wifi for Pokemon Games)

1. If I were you, I'd wait for Platinum. If you know anyone that owns Platinum and D/P ask them, they can be the best at answering this question. But I'm pretty sure they'll say Platinum anyway.

2. The normal DS and DS Lite do the same thing, really. The only difference is that the Lite can have a brighter screen and is a little smaller than the normal one. So unless you're desperate for it don't buy it. Or you could sell / swap the DS you currently own for a Lite, if you can.

3. I think you need a router or whatever's that called, I have no clue. >_>;

Thanks for that.
Any idea what the router is called?

as long as your current wireless internet router supports 802.11 BG it should be fine and if it has protection, make sure its WEP and not WPA protected.

as for trading in the DSphat for a DSlite, I'd say go for it. I've had my DSlite for almost 2 years now and it still works perfectly. (granted I'm not the heaviest gamer)

definitely wait for platinum, I have english versions of Diamond and Pearl and the Japanese version of Platinum. even without understanding most of what was conversed in the game it still blew D/P out of the water with features.

-Actually, if you are able to, I would suggest importing Platinum once it is released in North America this March. It should still work on your DS regardless of the region.

-Honestly, I personally find the DS Lite to be far superior in terms of longevity, portability, and all-around usefulness. So, if you can afford to do so, I would most certainly suggest upgrading.

-As Gerri Shin pointed out, as long as you are not using WPA protection, you should already have suitable Wi-Fi running inside your home.
