Having the Effort Ribbon means your Pokemon has obtained all 510 EVs, but they can still be reduced and moved around, yes. As long as the Pokemon is not level 100, it's never too late to re-train.

...Of course, this may mean that you'll end up using a LOT of the berries.

Minor note: The EV berries drop the EVs to 100, and then subtract 10 each time. If you wanted to make a Pokémon lose, say, all 212 EVs, it would only take 11 berries.

Yes, otherwise it does nothing (except raise Friendship, but if the Pokemon in question is an Umbreon or another friendship evolution, then that probably won't do anything, either).

Actually you can soft reset for egg shinyness just like for a legendary. It takes some time though but is one of the easier methods.

but u have to sr b4 hatching so if your hatchin something rare like a larvitar good luck
instead i save b4 receiving 1st egg then i fill up my party with eggs then if none of the 5 eggs are shiny I SR but thats just me i guess

once uve planted a berry, with no special soil, do u need to water it straight away?
and is there any way to obtain berries above number 52 in diamond?

Some berries are obtained on event pokemon I think. Also its best to water them often Im no expert on berries.

Naw, that's cool. Of course, you need to be wary of Sleep Clause when using any sleep-inducing moves.
