FATES INTERTWINED within the NEW WORLD
Darkness cannot exist without light. Humans are taught as much in school, and learn through experience over the course of their lives. So why was this world that they had remained in only possess the darkness? How long had it been now? Months? Years? Minutes? From within the darkness, they had temporarily lost a sense of self. What did they look like? What were their names? It didn't matter in that cold darkness. Eventually, though, light. A bright, warm, overpowering light that purged this lifeless realm of the darkness. This was the light that would free them. This light signified the beginning of their journey.
DISCOVERY often leads to FEAR OF THE UNKNOWN
"Um... excuse me? Excuse me, are you alright?" An unfamiliar, high pitched voice disturbed the sleep of the figure draped over a beaten down couch amidst a post-apocalyptic looking street. The figure stirred at the squeaking, her snow white hair pouring out onto the dirty road below the couch, her dainty frame twisting and turning in attempt to find a sleeping position that would allow her to continue her REM sleep. The voice, however, was persistent. "I asked you if you were okay!" This was enough to surprise the girl, and her form rolled off of the couch, hitting the ground with a thud. "Drat, I didn't mean to startle her!" For the first time, the girl opened her eyes, revealing the bright red irises she possessed. First, they opened a little in order to adjust to the light, but when they opened fully, she found herself looking a small, pink rabbit? In boots? With earmuffs and a scarf? "You're a human, aren't you?" It asked, and despite her confusion and grogginess, she nodded. She couldn't find her voice just yet.
Who was she? It took a minute to put her thoughts back together, and the odd animal before her didn't help with anything. She was a human, yes. Last she remembered, she had been playing a game with her younger sister. A virtual game, Tamers. Oh! Maybe that was what happened. Maybe she'd fallen asleep with the VR helmet on! Still lying on her back on the ground, staring up at the rabbit, she reached up to take off the peripheral. Her hands passed her vision for a moment, and she instantly noticed that something was off. Part of her doubted she was just playing a game, and not only because that fall off the couch had hurt. When her hands reached the top of her head, she could find no helmet. She grabbed a chunk of long white hair at first, and eventually found herself gripping onto two bony attachments that clearly didn't belong on the sides of her head.
A panicked expression overtook her face, but still she made no noise. Come to think of it, everything since she had woken up had seemed for too realistic. The audio quality felt like she was there, the feeling of the rock beneath her form was present as well. She could feel a cool breeze blowing through this destroyed city, which she recognized as the starting zone for Tamers after closer expression - albeit one that looked like it had been blown to hell. Pieces were missing from buildings, the streets were destroyed and overgrown with plant life. Just how long had she been out? Her breathing started getting heavy as reality began to sink in, and the pink rabbit before her donned a concerned expression. "My name is Cutemon. Maybe you should follow me back to the community center. You look like you could use some help, and there are other humans we've found back there."
The girl nodded, and struggled to get to her feet. She had yet to bother looking at her form, and did not do so as she followed the rabbit into the city. It was certainly a Digimon, one of those monsters from Tamers, so was she in the game? If so, how was that even possible? Or why?
QUESTIONS don't always have ANSWERS
It took about twenty minutes, the girl estimated, to reach the community center. It was a rundown building on the corner of an intersection that seemed to have been lost to indigenous plants long ago. She was lead through two double oak doors into a lobby-like area, where strange creatures seemed to be moving around and talking. "Cutemon? You found another human?" an almost human-looking creature asked. She said almost human because of it's height. It was only a few feet tall, and while it resembled an old man with it's huge white beard and bushy head of hair, it's humongous feet made her think otherwise of it's identity. Using a staff with a paw on the end, it made it's way over to the girl, looking her over with great detail, causing her to back away about.
"You're scaring it, Jijimon!" Cutemon exclaimed to the old man as it moved in between the two of them. "I know you're the leader of this group, but try not to freak out the humans. Is Zephyr around? I'm sure he'd like to meet another human, and he'll know what to do with it." The girl, naturally, was confused. Zephyr? Was that the name of another human? Weird name. After a quick exchange between Jijimon and Cutemon, she found herself being lead up a flight of stairs to a private room. Apparently the one known as Zephyr had arrived a couple of days before her, and was meeting with other humans like him to help figure out their situation.
FIRST ENCOUNTERS lead to FIRST IMPRESSIONS
"Zephyr, you're in here, right?" Cutemon inquired as it motioned for the girl to open the wooden door before her. She did so, and stepped into the room. It was dark, lit only by the sunlight coming through the giant windows which cast an identity onto the room. It had clearly been used for conferences at one point, with a big table in the middle and lined with chairs. At the opposite end of the table was a young man with black hair. He wore a Gauss-eyepatch over his right eye, and was clad in a black jacket over a hoodie with a black and white diagonal pattern. His one visible eye watched her, apparently unamused. "Please take a seat. We'll start when the others arrive." He said plainly. What was going on? She didn't really understand. Still, with no other leads, she did as she was told. From her seat by the window, she saw more of the room. There were a series of large eggs behind the boy at the end of the table. Just what were they, exactly?
(So basically, you need to get your character to that room to sit with the others. Try to avoid having your character say their name or look at their appearances for now.)
