Disturbing things in pokemon

I know Pokémon is meant to be lighthearted but there are disturbing moments in the franchise.

I found out that in the Pokémon manga some disturbing facts.

1. Trainers are considered adults when they are 10. They are even allowed to marry at that age.

2. Their parents dont care about their children going out into the woods, ocean, and [insert environment]

(In real life if you encountered a Pokémon it would probably kill you. Yes I'm deconstructing Pokémon)

3. A gym leader can lose their job if they lose for three consecutive battles.

There are more disturbing things but their mostly in the manga.

So what do you think are some disturbing things in Pokémon

I don't like very much how the manga can depict Pokemon battling at times.

It can get extreme. I guess theres a good reason I didn't get into the manga much till I got older xD;

But, yeah, battling is a foundation of the pokemon world. Extreme depictions can make it less enjoyable to indulge in o_o;

I still like reading the manga, though. Its still fun. And being older and a bit more mentally strong now, I can handle the disturbingness more now than I probably would of at a younger age. And also grasp that the manga is not really 'the same world' as the anime or the games (which i think are writen to be more tame and overall kid friendly).

As for other disturbing things...hmn.....

Some of the dex entries for sun and moon o_O;;; they can make pokemon feel less of a kid safe zone to me....(which also makes it feel less safe for me, 'cuz i can still be rather sensitive to things that are too dark/extreme regardless of being 28 years old now)

They sneak a lot of pretty... questionable stuff into the Pokédex? The fact that there's at least two Pokémon that just blatantly abduct children, for example:

It is whispered that any child who mistakes Drifloon for a balloon and holds on to it could wind up missing.

It carries a pendulum-like device. There once was an incident in which it took away a child it hypnotized.

...I still have trouble with the fact that Pokemon eat each other, to be honest. x_x I know, I know, that's what animals in real life do, but - it just seems more disturbing with Pokemon, okay?!

Team Rocket is explicitly stated to have killed a Marowak in Gen 1, which makes it more disturbing because they probably do many more similar things that aren't said.

Kadabra:

All Abras are horribly-deformed human children, and when it evolves into Kadabra, it has gone to sleep and awoken a monster.
Every single Kadabra is a human child, who has somehow switched places with Abras, who have taken over the child's human bodies.

Drowzee:

It remembers every dream it eats. It rarely eats the dreams of adults because children's are much tastier.

Haunter:

Its tongue is made of gas. If licked, its victim starts shaking constantly until death eventually comes.

It hides in the dark, planning to take the life of the next living thing that wanders close by.

Phantump:

According to old tales, these Pokémon are stumps possessed by the spirits of children who died while lost in the forest.

Gourgeist:

It enwraps its prey in its hair like arms. It sings joyfully as it observes the suffering of its prey.

Gengar:

It apparently wishes for a traveling companion. Since it was once human itself, it tries to create one by taking the lives of other humans.

Golbat:

Once it strikes, it will not stop draining energy (blood) from its victim even if it becomes too heavy to fly.

However how hard its victim's hide may be, it punctures with sharp fangs and gorges itself with blood.

Kabutops:

With sharp claws, this ferocious ancient Pokémon rips apart prey and sucks their body fluids.

Pinsir:

It grips prey with its pincers until the prey is torn in half. What it can't tear, it tosses far.

Victreebel:

It lures prey with a sweet aroma of honey; swallowed whole, the prey is melted in a day, bones and all.

Actually, I'm pretty sure the Pokedex entry only mentions one boy transforming into a Kadabra:
FireRed: It happened one morning - a boy with extrasensory powers awoke in bed transformed into KADABRA.
Emerald: It is rumored that a boy with psychic abilities suddenly transformed into KADABRA while he was assisting research into extrasensory powers.
Sun: A theory exists that this Pokémon was a young boy who couldn't control his psychic powers and ended up transformed into this Pokémon.
(It's funny how these entries get vaguer and more noncommittal over time)

All these dex entries, yet nobody mentioned the Paras/Parasect line. It's disturbing because the Pokemon has been taken over by the mushroom!

And then realise that it's based on a real-life creature (or creatures, rather). Yup.
