Also the picture used in the vid is from an episode during the Chuunin Exam arc. The second before it Sakura shouts something along the lines of ''Naruto, you actually look kinda cool''. Always wondered if that was the anime staff taking the piddle.

Weird thing about that. I watched my first episode of uncut last night, and lucky enough, it was the fight between Orochimaru and Sasuke. You know...
Spoiler:

That one.

And the funny thing about it is that, despite...that, the animation in their fight is ****ing fantastic. Seriously, I'm not going to say it was on par with Naruto vs. Sasuke, but it looked pretty damn great. Then again, I guess it makes more sense that they would have scenes or frames like...that in an episode like this because of the animation's quality.

The animator of the Oro vs Sasuke fight also did Naruto vs Sasuke. Sadly he'll mostly be known for the gotta go fast Pain moments. He likes his deformation animation, people tend to write that off as QUALITY fairly often.

As for Naruto looking cool, impossible because he wears his forehead protector on his head like a ♥♥♥♥♥♥. Not on his arm, round his neck or on his waist like the cool kids.

Ah, that makes sense, they did remind me of each other.

Yu Yu Hakusho used a very noticeable clean deformation technique in the Hiei vs. Bui fight. May not be the highest quality, but the NaruSasu fight is my favorite part of Naruto/Shippuden.

On that note, they need to get on releasing Naruto on Blu-Ray.

Not sure what my favourite fight would be. I know I'd rate Naruto vs Gaara and Naruto vs Neji ahead of the Sasuke fight though. Gaara one is probably the most meaningful one in the first part, seeing as it was the one which made Sasuke realise how big a ♥♥♥♥♥ he is.

Sasuke fights were pretty fun at the beginning. When the Sharingan was an addition to his style not the style itself, he used wires and pinged kunai around with his feet. Much more interesting than BLUEEEEEEEEEEEGHHHH DARRRRKNESSSS NEWW SHARINGAN POWERRRR UP LOOK IT'S A MASSIVE PURPLE EVIL GIANT FIRING ARROWS NOW™.

Yeah, not really too big a fan of modern Sausages fighting style, either. Makes him pretty boring to play as in games too (made even less fun thanks to Susanoo).

Can't say I understand why you'd put NaruNeji ahead of NaruSasu, though. Have that one on a VHS, and I remember it being a lot of Neji saying "You're lower class", kicks his ass, and then Naruto uses Dig and wins.

Really like the Hyuuga backstory. Really like Neji fights, although he does showcase his ability more vs spiderman of the Sound 4/5/6. Was also nice to see attitudes changing towards Naruto.

As for Natuto vs Sasuke it was kind of pointless. The outcome was never in doubt and neither character really grows. Or did Sasuke go into the fight planning to kill Naruto because his brother said it might be cool or was he always going to do his own thing? I can't remember. If it was the latter I guess Sasuke was did mature a little.

Well in general, I like the Sasuke Retrieval arc. From Seishun Kyousoukyoku to the fights to the general atmosphere, it's always been a season that I could look at and say was pretty memorable regardless of whatever feelings I had for the show at the time.

But in regards to the Narusasu fight specifically, I think the fight itself was pretty awesome. It looked great and, thanks to a complete lack of reused frames and the attacks, tactics, and visual effects relying on practically nothing else in the fight or prior to it, it just feels fresh and exciting. And it does leave this feeling of "what's going to happen?", even when the fight really can't happen any other way.

In terms of the fight's significance...the fight between the two, even if there were no spoken words (which, for a good bit of it, there wasn't), would have easily conveyed the feelings of hate and conflicting brotherly love that Sasuke felt for Naruto despite his stalwart and dead set determinations to break the bonds that bound them. And, contrastingly, the wave of Naruto's emotions that gradually (and not-so-gradually) change over the course of the fight. From confused to desperate to angry to sad to desperate again, and it handled the transitions between these emotions really well. Then, of course, there were the bits about their childhoods that really set in stone just how determined Sasuke was to break away from the village (and Naruto) either out of desperation to convince himself that he'd be better without them or pure legitimate rage and apathy towards Naruto for simply being (and probably my favorite part about it is that they don't clearly give the viewer an answer as to why, which segues perfectly into his early appearances in Shippuden, leaving lingering questions).

...tl;dr, I just thought it was a fun, well done multi-faceted fight that I felt bookended the arc well.

The arc was very good, yup. Although making it look like everybody had died was a bit much. Neji's pretend death got more love than his real one. lel

Ah, sorry about that. Pretty sure it had been discussed in here before whilst you were present, you must have forgotten or I'm remembering wrongly.

Yeah, I hope it lasts too but it probably won't. If Naruto has the power to Bring back Kakashi's original eye without even knowing how to use his new power I'd hate to think what he could do if he trains. The best result of this current arc would be Naruto losing a lot of his recent upgrades. Pretty sure his fox chakra could run out and this reincarnation thing is a bit silly, he should bugger off.

It's fine, It'll be a good while before I'll have a medium that shows it, so I'm fine with spoilers and the like.

But yeah, from what I've heard and seen, the powers of characters seem to be scaling way too fast. It has to climax at some point or it'll just become a mess (assuming things aren't already bat**** crazy and hard to follow). And, and this may just be snippets of things I've seen, but a lot of abilities lately seem to be pretty...godlike. Even moreso than the jutsu actually based off of Gods like Izanami and Susanoo. I'd imagine it'd either have to end or scale back at some point soon.

But this is coming from a mostly casual follower whose source medium is just after the Kage vs. Madara fight.

124. Naruto sounds like he has hax powers.

Oh? What else do you watch on there.

From open to close:

SnK - Watch
Bleach - Don't Watch (Fell too far behind at one point pretty early on in its Adult Swim run and haven't felt like catching up)
Dandy - Watch (Been a fun ride.)
Shippuden - Watch (It's been alright.)
One Piece - Watch (only been watching since the start of the Water 7 arc)
Blue Exorcist - Watch (Kinda cringey when it tries to do the cutesy high school student scenes, primarily because it's too damn predictable in those moments. Action's not bad, though.)
Beware the Batman - Watch (Plots kind of seem all over the place at the start, but it eventually makes sense.)
Black Lagoon - Watch (Rock is best girl.)
Naruto - Watch (Kind of annoyed that they restarted the run after 50 or 60 episodes)
FMA: Brotherhood - Don't Watch (Already finished, using the time saved by not watching it to watch other stuff I haven't seen yet).
Bebop- Don't Watch (Already finished probably two times)
SW: TCW - Don't Watch (Ew, Star Wars)
Samurai Jack - Don't Watch (Couldn't be bothered to add more series to my watchlist when it started. Might catch it if it gets a second run on Toonami, though.)

Was watching Sym-Bionic Titan before it finished its re-air about a week ago, and I'm glad it's over.

If it's anime and I haven't already watched it before it's hit Toonami in the past two years, I've probably watched it through Toonami.

I just checked the yesterday's Toonami program.

They're all finished series? Is Toonami for the late adopters? Or are all TV channels like that? I don't get it.

It's easier for them to cut deals for finished series, and 99% of what gets licensed for English dubbing by studios like Funimation is already finished airing in Japan anyway (English studios want something proven, unless it's something that's got top-level talent that's got a good track record in the west and it's got a concept that'll be well received by the west, a la Space Dandy). Besides, to make money from advertisers, they have to cater to the 18-45 year old male demographic, since that's what demographic advertisers pay to market to via Toonami/Adult Swim.

It also acts as a gateway into anime for those who are not very into it, or want a way to enjoy stuff without being shouted down by the "SUBS ARE SUPERIOR TO DUBS DESU YO!!!!" types (and yes, sub elitists who will shout down anyone who even says anything remotely positive about English dubs do exist, especially among the whitest kids you know who are into anime).

Naruto's final power up should have been the perfect form using Kuruma's fox juice. Even without that he was the strongest 'good' character a long time ago. Not stronger than the Hashirama and Tobirama but seemingly stronger than the next 3 Hokage.

AOTS – Anime Of This Summer

First of all, thanks for the donations. We've invested in some additional hardware to hopefully speed things up. We'll also be resuming ripping M3 since we figured out a way to rip from Daisuki (after a year or so!).

Back to the main point: this season is pretty good. The only show that stood out last season was No Game No Life. The rest were meh. This season, however, have multiple shows that I deem worthwhile to watch:

Aldnoah.Zero – Despite being an SAO fanboy, I have to say Aldnoah is the best show this season. It's rare that I actually look forward to the day this show comes out. You should definitely check this out. The characters, the setting, and the score are all very refreshing.
Sword Art Online II – Well, it's SAO.
Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun - This parody of the shoujo genre is hilarious. If you enjoy good anime comedy, check this out.
Ao Haru Ride – Your typical shoujo, but a really good one. The manga is extremely popular in Japan.
Zankyou no Terror - Watanabe-sensei's (Cowboy Bebop, Sakamichi no Apollon, etc) work. The setting and art seems really good. However, if you live in the US, you might want to stay away from this show. You don't want the FBI counter-terrorism unit to show up at your door!
Tokyo Ghoul – Blah blah blah. Hype???
Barakamon – Heard this is really good.
Akame ga Kill!/Hanayamata/Locodol - Your moe shows of this seas– wait, maybe I'm wrong.

tl;dr Watch Aldnoah.Zero.
