    Do you people actually laugh when you say lol?
     
    When I say lol? No. I Dont ever say lol. I type lol, and half the time, yeah, a smile or a laugh accompanies it :)

    I do sometimes.
    If I'm actually laughing in real life, I tend to say, "rofl". Then again... I don't really use internet speak too often. :)
     
    I use a generic "XD" or "lol" if something is amusing, but not really making me laugh. If I'm smiling or laughing, I'll upgrade it to a "LOL" sometimes. Usually if I find things hilarious, though, you'll know if you're talking to me online. I'll skldfhdsf on the keyboard and whatnot until I've gotten ahold of myself well enough to formulate a proper sentence. :'D I guess it's my way of showing that I'm laughing to hard to talk but... online.
     
    I don't like using "lol"... :/

    I just use "XD". Only about 50% of the times I use it are times that I'm actually laughing...
     
    "lol" just looks like part of a sentance of here so I always go for xD, and Its 90% of the time something I find funny.
     
    I usually only use 'lol' in a sarcastic way, or if something is like 'ha ha' funny.

    If I'm actually laughing out loud I'll say LMFAO or something like that.
     
    I'd usually use 'lol' when I find something mildly amusing. But I also use it if I really find it funny enough to be laughed at. Either that, or 'XD', yup.
     
    When I say "lol" or "lawl" I pass no more than a silent chuckle. I use "XD" quite a lot at the end of my sentences when I'm casually talking to someone, but it doesn't signify whatsoever that I'm actually laughing. Now if I were to put more emphasis on it (i.e. "Omg. XD;" or anything of the relative) then I'd probably be either giggling or in the midst of a laughing fit.
     
    Sometimes. xDDD I actually don't laugh very often, so it more signifies where I might be giggling -- yes, I'm a horrible little giggly girl man inside XD -- if I did laugh. I usually say when it made me laugh because it's quite the accomplishment!

    But its getting really bad where I'm writing stories and I'm just forcing myself not to write "xD" xDDDD

    Never. I might chuckle a bit, but rarely ever laugh when I say "lol". Same for "Lawlz", but I usually use that when I find something more amusing than a simple "lol" worthy comment. I remember a particularly good month or so at PC, when everything seemed to amuse me. As a result, a couple members profiles were covered in "Lawlz" and "xD"'s for a while. Yes, I abuse the ever so comical "xD", too. Seriously; it's pretty bad. xDD; <--- o_o;;
     
    I used to use 'lol', now if I ever use it, I just sound stupid and noobish. :< If something is silly, I use 'XD'. If something is actually funny, I use "XDD". And if I'm laughing really hard about something, I don't use either, I just tell the person in the conversation that it was really funny. XD I occasionally may slip out a 'lawlipop'. But that's only when I'm in a rare mood. I never use lol, and the times when I did use 'lol', no, I wasn't actually laughing out loud.
