I download my Anime including BW. :3.
Watchanimenow, they did have it till the user removed the video for some reason.

DC is taking a break this week so Aoyama can do some research.

/needs to finish CLANNAD if anything.

11

I can see why he'd need to do that ^^; /thank god fantasy mangakas don't need to do as much research

And I'll still keep to my word about continuing DC after finishing Shaman King/catching up in Gintama. I might just do one and then resume DC.

Not to mention it takes place in Japan, doesn't it?

In Rave and FT, Mashima pretty much does (or did in the case of Rave) what he wants.

Also, "Ice Edge Swirling" (FT) comes up on iTunes when Horohoro's attacking Yoh in Shaman King. /decided to kill that off

Yeah. During his commentary after the end of one of the mangas, be mentioned that he was in Osaka taking pictures of one of the buildings he was going to use for the case. So I'm assuming when DC is taking a break, Aoyama is out somewhere getting historical infor, or researching a building so he can draw it.

/can just imagine how much research he did for the case in London.

..... That's so ironic, seeing as HoroHoro is ice. /can see why you killed that off. xD

And I suppose Mashima did need to research various forms of dragons for the Dragonslayers. Along with the constellations for Lucy's Stellar Spirit magic. And then the names of the characters I'm sure aren't entirely random. Lucy came from the Beatles' "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds", Natsu was to continue his naming the heroes after seasons (plus, "summer" is hot, and Natsu is a Salamander...), Happy was from the bluebird of happiness (blue cat who can fly, anyone?), Laxus I'm sure came from the Latin word for "light" (Laxus used lacrima to make himself an Electric Dragonslayer)...

What's interesting about his two main works is that both heroes are cliché in terms of their ability/weapon/etc., but Mashima twisted such and made them both unique. Haru, for example, is a kid who fights with a giant sword. But the sword can change into different forms, each with their own special ability. Then there's Natsu, who's magic is fire. But it isn't just normal fire (look at Totomaru of Phantom Lord's Element 4 for that), it's Dragonslayer fire. To top it off, he can eat fire that isn't his own and replenish energy from it.

I still have so many chapters in Shaman King to go. But it's a bit less than where Gintama's at, not to mention Gintama's still being published.

I'm sure that for all mangas, the mangaka have done their research for the names and everything like that. :3

I still need to read Shaman King myself, haaaa. XD;

Though I'm sure for slice-of-life series, the names didn't need to be that creative *points to CLANNAD, AB!, Kanon, etc.* Same with series like Higurashi and Umineko (although there are quite a few English names in there).

The first Shaman fight is now over. I knew who'd win, but still.

20.

Yeah. I would guess that some would require less research than others. /knows Aoyama did a lot of research on his names. Most of the characters' names have some sort of origin. xD

XDD /really needs to read it so her sister can stop saying 'i can't talk to you about this because it's a spoiler'

21

Conan - Gee, I wonder where that came from? |D

Pfffft, Yoh. "Horohoro, I never knew we were victims of the same fate!" /in response to Horohoro's sister telling him that he was gonna resume his "training from hell"

22.

Aye. xD The origin of Edogawa Conan is simple, because you actually see him make up the name, and I think later one someone mentions about the origins as well. /doesn't quite remember.

XDDD Oh Yoh.

24.

They would have to have had skipped the first few chapters, and even then they had to have known the origin of 'Conan'. XD If not... the yeah... I'd really have to wonder.

/nodnod~
