English is the most confusing. You have the Great Vowel Shift, not to mention it comes from many different types of languages. Celtic, Romance, Germanic...

So yeah. Those are the three major types of languages that the English language stole from.

No, Old Norse is influenced by Germanic, and helped develop the Celtic langauges.

So if Norse helped develop the Celtic language, then it indirectly contributed to our language.
