Ok so far I have had trouble with the elite four, I'm not sure what team I need to have, type wise and the info I looked up so far was kinda helpful but when I look at other site's info I get advice that tells me not to have the same typing which is ok. My problem is that I have no clue what types would be effective for the hybrids that are included in the elite four pokemon that won't hurt me rather then help me

I found the biggest threat to be Kahili and considering she's a user of Flying-types you're going to want something to counter that such as a Rock or Electric-type. As for the others, I'd say they're pretty challenging if you are just on their level, but so long as you have types to counter each of them then you should be good. I'd recommend getting a few levels above theirs and because they use Fighting, Rock, Ghost, and Flying-types, you should just get Pokémon that cover each of those.

For type specifics, if you aim for having a Psychic, Grass, Dark, and Electric or Ice-type Pokémon on your team then you've probably got the best chance of succeeding. Good luck!

honestly i struggled a little too but i just kept pushing my team through the door until we won LOL
i think i lost 3 times but eventually we made it thanks to being a several of levels over + many revives and hyper potions

    it is what it is

i wouldn't suggest completely starting over with a team, just keep trying

    Hala: Psychic or Flying
    Olivia: Fighting or Ground
    Kahili: Electric or Rock
    Acerola: Dark

They usually have the best match ups. Just be aware of coverage moves. The only Z-Crystal you should be going after would be the Psychic or Flying ones, the rest you can obtain ingame.

Normally I blitz it with Tapu Koko now, but my first playthrough had Incineroar (Acerola), Greninja (Acerola and Olivia), Passimian (Olivia), Mudsdale (Olivia), Vikavolt (Kahili and Hala), Shiinotic (Hala and Olivia). Had a lot of Rock moves and Ice Beam on Greninja to compensate for Kahili.

The Elite Four weren't that much of a challenge...

    ...but Kukui was.

The E4 felt about average tbh, I was kinda underlevelled when I took it on simply cause there's no real good places to grind before - that I could find anyway- but most of the Pokemon you catch throughout your journey should match up well, I suggest just keep taking them on until you're a high enough level, or just grind in the grass before the Pokemon League, it's a long method, but it'll work eventually.

You just gotta know your team's limits, and always play to your strengths! And yeah, just remember the type weaknesses: Fighting is weak to Psychic and Flying, Ghost is weak to Dark, Flying is weak to electricity, ice and rock, and Rock is weak to water, grass, and fighting. Don't be afraid on grinding up a little too, if you're having some trouble.

Personally, I didn't have too much trouble against them; only defending the Champion's title against Kukui was the only deep challenge, but still, there's really no trouble as long as you remember type advantages.
