Eternal Nightmare - [PG-16]

Lucifer didn't expect him to counter with the flamethrower, but he could dodge it with ease by tilting his head. When Lucifer saw the Houndoom countering his Flash Cannon with Sacred Fire, he did a backflip and held his bone before him, blocking the flying debris from the explosion. Lucifer, still calm as ever, was about to attack with his full force, but then the Houndoom started to retreat. It was the right thing to do, even though Lucifer knew his brothers won't fight him even if he lost the battle, since it's a fair battle, there was still a tiny chance for that.

Lucifer placed his paws together and his bone disappeared. There was a wound, created by the Houndoom's crunch, but it was going to recover pretty quickly. But Lucifer had nothing to worry, his speed was much higher than the Houndoom, and he was prepared if he was going to attack again.

Lucifer turned to Silver and his mate, realised the mistake he had done, and nodded solemnly, "Julie, I'm sorry." He was rather disgusted, he wasn't gonna apologize to anyone else...

(OOC: I shall try to keep up with this fast-paced RP as I've never been in one so incredibly fast, I mean 3 pages in like 2 hours! :O Oh and miley810, it's Volk not Volt. xD I purposely made his name to be like Volt cos he's electric type. Yah xD)

Volk had a few hours of peaceful sleep but woke up to a long trail of loud knocks on his door. By the time he got there, they(whoever they were) were gone and left a note. It was written by his neighbour, Julie the Ampharos. It said that they were recruiting more members for the rebellion against Darkrai. Darkrai... The name made Volk shudder. He wondered what they were all doing right now. Julie mentioned in her note about other people with them. Her mate, of course, it didn't surprise the Joltik that they were always together like bread and butter. Then it was a Lucifer or something, never heard of that guy. His name sounded creepy. He shivered again, partially due to the wind from the opened window.

Volk crawled to the windows and shut them before bringing the piece of paper with him to the table. As he sucked on his honey apples, he reread the message and made a mental list of what to pack in his bag for the journey to.....somebody's castle. He hated saying or thinking that name, it made him so cowardly and that's why he disliked it so much. He finished his meal within a few minutes and hurried to gather his belongings. He strapped his little bag over his abdomen and with his 4 legs, scampered out of the house and making sure his house was secure, lest he get robbed or vandalized. Several people in Paranoia City were aggressive and were hostile to privileged Pokemon who had electricity. He was one of the targeted Pokemon so Volk had to take precautions. Especially when there was a mad Houndoom living just down the road.

After turning down the windy bend that led past the Houndoom's living quarters of darkness, Volk began to tremble and his footsteps began softer with wariness. He heard stories of the Houndoom attacking people just because he lived without light. Volk had to be extra careful when nearing that part of the city, he wasn't usually intimidated by other Pokemon who tried to accuse him for his ability. It's not like he chose to be a Joltik when he was born, why should he be ostracized for his innate powers? All of a sudden from nowhere, an explosion illuminated the nightly surroundings ahead of the yellow spider and he saw a Lucario and the Houndoom battling outside the latter's residence. "Oh my.... This is bad..." The Joltik scurried behind a deserted alley and spied the situation. Apparently, a Flash Cannon and Sacred Fire had been fused into an epic blast and shattered the windows of the Houndoom's house. It was clearly infuriated but the Lucario seemed calm and not the least bit angry. And he looked like Silver, but he wasn't. Who is he?? Volk trembled in anticipation behind the trash bin he was hiding and watched carefully if anything else was about to happen. Then, the Lucario apologized to somebody else. it was Julie, Volk noticed, she was with Silver at a safe distance from the warring two. The Joltik sighed before he recognized a Cubone with the couple. This was when he finally inhaled the odor from the trash bin and he let out an audible "EEW!" He swiftly closed his mouth and nose as he did not want to give himself away.

Stupid Volk....stupid! Now they'll get you, and they're all meanies! You had to let that out, did you Volk? Scoldings reverberated in his head as dearly wished no one heard him.

Lucifer looked around to see if the coward Houndoom was still nearby, fortunately, he was gone. Lucifer sighed in relief as he didn't have to fight again, but he didn't have to worry much since he was ready. Silver was overprotecting his mate, but Lucifer had no rights to say anything about it. He was also overprotecting his own brother, so he kept his mouth shut. He massaged his wound and relaxed a little, since the battle was over, but he was still alert in case something attacked from behind. He was always alert, no matter what. Suddenly he heard something strange, like a scream, but it was like a screech or something...he didn't know what, but it sounded funny. His long ears twitched as he looked around. The voice was coming from a trash bin, strange. A spy from that blasted Darkrai? Or was it the Houndoom, planning his revenge? He couldn't take any chances and walked towards the bin and he nearly puked, what was that horrible smell? It smelt like dead bodies, corpses even. It was rather normal...people were dying in the city...not enough food and water...not to mention there wasn't enough sleep. He was about to walk away but then his eyes widened as he could see something moving, or breathing inside the trash bin. A great hiding spot, he thought and rolled his eyes. With one kick, he kicked the trash bin and watched as it rolled towards the wall with a large bang. Then he grabbed the bin and held it upside down, so the spy could fall out.

"Who goes there!" Lucifer shouted firmly as he banged the bottom of the metal bin, creating deafening sounds.

Before he knew, Volk's trash bin was flung off the ground into the air and he felt himself move upside-down. The bin rolled to the side with a loud bang and somebody was whacking the base, making the Joltik near-deaf. He fell out of the trash bin with a cry of help and pain and landed at the foot of a scary-looking Lucario who moments ago, he was spying at.

"Who goes there!" The Lucario demanded roughly!

"Uhh....d-don't...hurt me-e-e....please!" Volk cowered in fear and he curled up into a tight ball of insect fur. He braced himself for any hit or attack, his body vibrating strongly as if he was in the midst of an Earthquake.

Lucifer watched as the little yellow Pokemon fell out of the stinky trash bin and smirked, but he had to admit, the Joltik was pretty cute. The Joltik curled into a small ball and started to shiver in fear as Lucifer stared at him, with his red eyes glowing in the night. It wasn't the Houndoom, that's for sure, but what was he doing here?

"Why are you spying!?" Lucifer kicked the furball with his foot, watching it bounce against a wall, and landed right before his feet again. He grabbed the Joltik with his left hand and aimed a red aura sphere at him with his right hands, "TELL ME! Who are you working for!"

Lucifer growled, he had the guts to kill the little Joltik, but he wanted to hear his side of the story first.

He half-expected it to come. A strong kick knocked him off the ground and he crashed back to the same spot. Then, as swiftly as the kick came, Volk was grabbed by the Lucario and he was yelled in the face. "TELL ME! Who are you working for!"

"Who? I'm not working for anyone?" The Joltik was getting fed up. How could he be accused of something out of this world?! And who does this Lucario expect him to be working for? Darkrai? Hell no!

"Now, see here. I was just looking for my friend Julie who sent me a note to rebel against Darkrai, but it's not like you're in these things so whatever. And then I saw you and the Houndoom messing around like little kids showing off who's better. Like really, tell me does your parents know that you're misbehaving in public? Are you allowed to go gallivanting in the night and disturb every soul out there? Huh?"

Then he noticed the charged Aura Sphere, luminous red in the dark alley. Oh he wouldn't dare......would he? His abdomen started to vibrate mildly as static grew around the edges of his tips and Volk's eyes glinted in the darkness of the surroundings.

Lucifer grabbed him and waited for an answer, but the answer was rather unexpected, and pretty disturbing, even if he was half-right about disturbing every soul. That Houndoom had gone too far, that's all, and he was defending his brother.

Huh?"

He stated out, and his abdomen started to vibrate, generating a little static. At first Lucifer was about to let go, but when he talked about the 'parent know that you're misbehaving in public' he growled. His parents. A rather sensitive subject. Lucifer roared and pushed the Aura Sphere towards the Joltik, blasting him at close range. The Sphere wasn't strong enough to kill him in one go, since Lucifer adjusted the power before throwing it, but it was absolutely strong enough to knock one unconscious.

The Aura Sphere flew at him, knocking him unconscious but in a split second, the Joltik was up on his feet. "Lesson 1: I'm part Bug, Fighting-types don't hurt me much." Volk made a cheeky face before continuing his lecture, "Second lesson, get this down student. I know how to paralyze you."

His abdomen let out a string of sticky electricity in the shape of a spider web and it wrapped tightly around the Lucario's body. Then Volk clamped his tiny thorn-like fangs onto what looked like a recent wound. He started sucking and retaining static electricity from the air and from the frictional moving particles of energy ions around the Lucario's tough and sturdy physique. Soon, he drank all the energy at once and focused it into the wound of the Lucario, creating a half Electro Ball and half Bug Bite move. That would keep him good for a while as he ran off to find Julie. The Lucario went limp and immediately the yellow bug went scurrying to where Julie was.

"Help! Oh hi there, Julie...and Silver!! Ye-yeah-ah, I was delayed from my sleep and uh....some Lucario that looked like Silver attacked me. I think he's a Darkrai supporter, looks mean. But I knocked him out with my trusty Electroweb. But I can't really tell, I mean once he fell to the floor, I ran all the way here since he's part Stell and my Electric moves do not much to him and paralysis is a thin scale...." He quickly shut his mouth, seeing that he had been rattling and stammering all along since the start of the conversation.

(OOC: Cue to.....someone in that area? XP P.S. Sorry Lucifer, it was a nervous reaction of electric spiders xD)

(I understand)

Before he could react, he fell limp onto the ground, paralysed. He growled and tried moving, but failed to do anything. But fortunately the paralysis was rather weak, and he was resistant against bug types. He slowly turned his head, fighting the paralysis as he looked at the Joltik with murderous eyes. A bone of yellow aura appeared in his right hands without moving, and he spun his hands, throwing the bone towards the pest like a boomerang. If the bone missed, it was going to turn and hit the enemy again like a boomerang. He could slowly move again, and he slowly got up to his feet...

"Help! Oh hi there, Julie...and Silver!! Ye-yeah-ah, I was delayed from my sleep and uh....some Lucario that looked like Silver attacked me. I think he's a Darkrai supporter, looks mean." he said.

Being mean doesn't mean I'm a Darkrai supporter, boy. He sent the thought into the joltik's mind. Don't make me fight you.

(SILVER PLEASE SLOW DOWN!!!)

Whoa! Where did that come from? Well, Darkrai is mean and you look mean. He retorted in his mind.

Don't make me fight you.

Is that a threat?!
Volk caught eye of a yellow bone flying towards him and instinctively he jumped behind the big-sized Ampharos. "Boomerang!" He yelled. The bone flew over the Ampharos but before he knew it, Volk was clocked from behind. "Hey, ouch!"

The Lucario slowly stood up. Volk stuck his tongue out playfully. Somehow or rather, he didn't seem to be afraid of the Lucario anymore, but more like some playmate. "Catch me if you can!" The Joltik chirped enthusiastically, and run around Julie and Silver in circles. He did a totally random and silly dance that required him to waggle his abdomen and waved his forelimbs. "He he he!" He then hid in a trash bin in another alley.

Are you good at hide and seek? He laughed in that thought.

"If you wanna stop them Sahpyre be my guest, but those to would end up murdering either of us."Julie said

(after the battle finished)

"Lucifer!Don't attack him!"Julie said as she ran next to Volk."He's not a enemy! He's my next door neighbor Volk genius! Are you okay Volk?"

Julie looked at Lucifer with a bitter look then looked back at Volk.

"Bad idea Volk, don't mess with Lucifer, you could get murdered..."Julie yelled after Volk.

(What? Me? Slow down? I R teh fastest tho! :o )

Silver smiled as Lucifer apologized.

"Good."

He pulled Lucifer into a three-person hug. Then glanced up as Lucifer dumped a spider out of the trash and started beating it.

"B-brother!!"

Silver facepalmed.

Typical Lucifer I guess...

His ears lowered a bit at the 'parents' comment, and there was an eerie silnce for a few seconds. His scar glowed once more, straight norizontally across his muzzle. Perhaps 'parents' and 'muzzle scar' were related? He held Julie closer, sad now. He hasn't even told her. Only the brothers know. Buthe felt like he needed her support.

Silver shuddered at the Joltik as it ran up to them.

Spiders, ugh...

Silver hated spiders. He had to stop himself from laughing as the Joltik began to turn it into a game, and took off into an alley.

Uh-oh... Very bad idea, toying with Lucifer...

(Slow down,him,me?Your dreaming.)

Julie shook her head at Volk and began to hug Silver,

"Your broher really does scare me."Julie said with a quivering wisper to Silver.

"Don't murder him Lucifer,I beg of you don't murder him!"Julie yelled towards Lucifer."And Volk if you must, don't do it around us,we prefer being alive."

Saphyre looked at Julie and then back at the fighting Houndoom and Lucifer. She was probally right, if anyone tried to stop them they'd just turn on them. So Saphyre just stood there, watching them beat the snot out of each other.

Saphyre was surprised when the Houndoom walked away. It seemed like their fight would have been to the death. Though, she glad it wasn't. No use in someone or more people dying because of a silly fight.

"Lucifer! Don't beat Volk!! He's just a child!" She yelled as Lucifer unmercifulessly beat on Volk. Saphyre bit her lip to keep from laughing as Volk did his little dance. The last thing she wanted was Lucifer attacking her.

Julie suddenly broke out in a run and picked up Volk getting hit the last time my Lucifer but appearing not to notice,or care. She ran back to Silver and Saphyre.

"You okay Volk?"She asked again.

She suddenly felt pain in her left arm and dropped Volk on accedent and grabbed it.It was delayed pain from what Lucifer did.She stopped grabbing it and grabbed Silver not wanting him to react.

Silver frowned.

"Why did you do that??"

He made her sit down with him as he began to tend to her shoulder, being gentle as his eyes matched his care.

"Volk, you should know better than to antagonize brother..."

He sighed. Why does everyone fight so much? It's all pointless...

"I didn't want Volk hurt."Julie said as Silver tended to her shoulder.

Julie looked at Lucifer nerveously then looked at the ground.Did Lucifer hate her?It wasn't the attack that made her think this, she'd thought this for a while.Maybe it was because they used to do a lot together and now Julie seemed to be taking Silver away?Lucifer couldn't be mad about that, could he?Julie felt tears whell up in her eyes, and she felt one fall,so she shut her eyes tight where she couldn't cry.

Silver sighed and held her close.

"He can't hate you, because he knows I love you, and he loves me, so he won't try to hurt you... He knows it makes me happy when he's nice to you..."

He smiled and rubbed cheeks with her.

"He even apologized because I asked him to! Mind you, he never apologizes."

Julie smiled and hugged Silver tightly. She laughed when he said that Lucifer never apoligises, its true.

"So anyways,Volk, are you in or out, coming or not?"Julie asked.

Donas stared blankly ahead, watching the bushes and trees pass him by uneventfully and in the dark. What time was it now? He didn't know, he didn't care. What did it matter? He would be awake day or night and the sun would never rise whatever the time would be. The eternal night was slowly becoming his only sense of comfort. He was beginning to set into the role of night dweller. This was his place, his natural habitat. The darkness was made to form how he wanted it to be. Light is unnecessary. The thought would flutter in an out of his mind at intervals and every time it passed he would slowly become more and more convinced.

What was the function of the sun? To comfort them with rays of light? To help them see in the darkness? To drive away the fear, the unfamiliar life in the shadows? To keep them happy? He didn't need the comfort of the sun, and neither did anyone else. Some pokemon didn't appreciate it anyhow. Some had taken the time to complain about life, forgetting the gifts they get for free when the sun rose every morning. Donas had been one of these pokemon. When the sun had gone it was like a drug that he needed to survive. It was devastating. The first week of sleeplessness had been draining. Fatigue gripped him like a disease. He was still tired. Now, he was just used to it.

Donas tripped over a tree root, cursing under his breath as he stumbled forward and collided inevitably into the ground. He lay there for a while, not feeling the urge to stand up or containing the drive to try if he had. Momentary pain stung his numbed body. Maybe... Maybe if he lay here a while eh would sleep. Slowly the poor Cranidos closed his eyes, trying to sink into the darkness of subconsciousness. He had seen pokemon that could sleep. Fidgeting and fighting whatever they saw in their dreams. Some would wake up screaming. Others would still think the dream was real, seeing the images that had hidden behind their eyelids in the physical world. In the midst of their night terrors they would injure other or themselves. He remembered it happening to a Pachirisu in particular. The pokemon had gotten so scared that it had run off into the woods down here. Donas and others had tried to help, venturing in here to see if they could find the little rodent. So far there was no success. Some quit. Others didn't even leave the forest. Donas himself would come in here daily, sometimes spending uncountable amount of time.

His eyes shot open suddenly, red eyes darting two and fro from the sound of jingling. He had heard this sound before. Before him the source of the sound came into view, sliding from a tree in front of him like a dead traveler. Misdreavous it was. He had seen that pokemon on and off, coming near him time and time again. Like it always did it turned towards him, expressive eyes twinkling with recognition and mouth forming into a smile.

"Come on...!" It said, its voice like a hum in his ears. It always did this. Telling him to come on, but where? Mechanically Donas stood, legs unsteady under him. Come on! The voice echoed in his head over and over, but the Misdreavous never moved. He couldn't tell if it was talking to him or not. Seeing him comply the Misdreavous flipped around and cruised away from him. "Come on...!" Automatically he followed. First as a trot and then into a full out run. Where was it going? He couldn't even tell. The path always seemed the same, however. Straight until it started to disappear away from him. Is it real? Donas asked himself the question every time he saw it. Was this pokemon reality or another hallucination? He had to know and he didn't think he would know until he finally caught up. Even now the image of the Misdreavous was getting smaller as it dwindled into the night. Slow down! He screamed in his mind.

Donas ran faster, trying to keep up with the lighting-fast pokemon. It didn't matter how long they'd been here. That Misdreavous was just so energetic, ready to play chase every time it saw him. However, he was tired, so very tired. The strain of running put a toll on his body, making his breathing seem labored and his legs protest from movement. Only his determination kept him going. He would catch that pokemon. Now, or later. He would catch it. Donas' heart fell, finally seeing the pokemon leave his sight. No! Not again! Wait! He ran as fast as he could. Ignoring the thudding of his heart, the sounding of his breathing in his ears, and the pulse of the headache coming on. In moments that felt too long Donas burst through the bushes, finally out of the forest. Ahead of him the city showed itself. He looked around wildly, trying to find the pesky Misdreavous, but it was gone... Gone as it always was. Always from his sight.

"Where did you go..?" He whispered, unable to put together the mystery. Automatically he looked up, seeing the castle of Darkrai, looming above them all like a powerful force. There? He could imagine the pokemon in the sky, that smile on its face, speeding towards the castle. Maybe that's where it wanted him to go. Oh, he could always imagine why. The castle, dark as it looked, maybe him think of paradise. A realm of beds, of comfort. Like another world that would bring him to sleep as soon as he stepped through the doors. How that would be wonderful. A small smile came upon his lips. Oh, how he wished to be up there. In comfort. In paradise.

---

Donas yawned, walking through the depths of the city. He searched for the homes of his friends, trying to find out if they had found any news of that Pachirisu, but as always, his memory failed him. Where had they lived before? Remembering was such hard work. He shook his head, chasing away the blurry images of their faces. It didn't matter. He needed to find a place to rest for a while. Maybe... Yes.

His aimless wondering brought him in a automatic path. He knew where to step, which way to turn, but he had no idea where he was going. As he traveled, his ears eventually picked up the sounds of a violent altercation. Misdreavous? Maybe it had gotten caught up in something. He sprinted towards the sound. Eager for it to be the body of the pokemon he was most familiar with. He came upon a home, but it didn't lead him to the ghost pokemon. Instead, it brought him into a brawl between a Joltik and some Lucario. There were a couple other pokemon around as well. Donas groaned, unhappy.

"What are you guys doing?" He asked in an irritable tone to the group. Unhappy with the fact that they weren't Misdreavous.

OOC: I assume that they're still at the house. I've been half reading this thing. XD And yes, stupid reply is stupid.
