OK there was a recent HDD failure on the server.. we had to replace it and in doing so, we loat all account data.. We did back up stuff before the HDD swap and OS reload but there may be posts missing or other errors due to limitations in the backup/restore scripts and very large databases..

    A) I wanted you all to know this so there isn't 1000 new threads asking about what happened.. and,

    B) to tell you all to be on the look out for broken stuff.. images, garbled threads or bad links, etc.. and report them here.

Hah, well I'll mention it: Your sig is unavailable =p or at least I think so =p

yeah still waiting on the backup for the site the image is hosted on to upload.. x.x

WOW...for a second there I thought PC was coming to END...I wouldn't know what to do if that happened, honestly I might have been crushed!!! but I'm glad to see it is back up again!!!

btw, do u think all those database errors PC was having might have caused this???

yay! PC's back! sorry to hear we lost some stuff, but I'm still glad we have all of those back-ups! thanks for the info steve.

    Finally, the great PokéCommunity returns!
    Freaking hard drive...
Let's hope this never happens again.

more likely the other way around.. a lot of those errors were caused by the bad drive (along with too much traffic)

Oh good. I thought my computer was crapping out on me. I need my daily fix of PC, see, and if I can't I go berserk =p

But seriously, hopefully there won't be any more (or at least there will be fewer) errors. My suggestion for the other problem =p: *Headshot*

Yeah, I noticed that too. When I was checking the site feverishly every five seconds to see if you guys got it back up, I saw that I had two new notifications. It seems to me that those notifications, as well as an entire conversation made over the previous week, is mysteriously gone. Is that basically "you're never going to get this back" kind of information?

Man PC has more HDD issues than I have.

Is there some kind of warranty on that the ones you buy? (more importantly what brand are they so I know not to buy one.)

So it was the hard drive? Wow that is lovely. I am so glad you got PC up and running again, Steve. I was mostly in LiveJournal, lol. Hopefully that will be it for Database Errors. I don't think I lost that many VM's though. I think I pretty much the same. And I don't see any errors yet. When I do, I will let you know. ^^ Thanks again, you rock!
