Fake Pokemon, Fake Regions, Fake Gym Leaders, Fake etc. A no-no in fan fiction or something that could be interesting?
My fic has a fake region and, of course, fake Gym Leaders to go along with it (but really, those two go hand in hand). I don't do fakemon since my fakemon ideas suck (Meet Towncarius, the Lincoln Town Car Pokemon XD) but I don't mind fics with them.

I should note however that all cars in my fic are real, even if some of them haven't been made since 1984 XD

In the original version of "Nothing, Everything," I have it set at a fake region because of the many places I would like to put in. However, after playing Diamond I rewrote the story and have it set in Sinnoh instead...and with that I still added a few new buildings and such. XD

Like everyone else, I don't mind fake regions nor fake gym leaders if protrayed well, and that goes the same with fake Pokemon.

It could be interesting as long as they are described well enough. I mean, this isn't the familiar canon regions/Pokemon we're talking about, so more information about them needs to be given.

Chinese water torture by chaining them to a chair and forcing them to watch the entirety of the dubbed version of the Johto arc for over 78 hours straight. If the crappy storylines for the majority of the arc don't do it, the fact that they've gone at least a day without food, water, sleep, movement, or bathroom breaks on top of having to endure the crappy storylines by the time they hit "Spring Fever" should.

Also, to Astinus, yeah. That was some wild night. Or at least the video tape of it makes it seem like such.

Do you plan your endings for your stories? If so, do you stick by it? Also, do you think an ending would affect your overall impression of the fic you're reading, whether good or bad?

The reason I asked is because I always seem to change my endings for my fics. I know I've already mention a thousand times of how I've changed the ending of "Nothing, Everything" a few times, but it always bugs me to wonder if if in the end I did the story justice and I'm scared of some people thinking the ending will be rushed. >.> At the moment I'm still not exactly happy of the ending yet.

I don't really plan out the endings to my own fic. I let the story take itself where it wants to. The only exception that I have is my Digimon AU, but that's because the fic ends the same place the show did, but the path to get there is different. And long. Really long. *shifty eyes at thirty-page long chapters that aren't done yet*

A lot of the fics that I followed aren't done yet. *shifty eyes at Shrike* But I know that my favorite author tends to rush his endings for my favorite book series. *shifty eyes at Andy before fangirl!glomping him* That's my least favorite part about the series.

So I can say that my least favorite thing about endings is when they're rushed. Or when they're pulled out of nowhere by the author who wants to finish the story in some way.

All fics are posted in the main forum; it's up to Astinus to decide whether it stays there, though. Isn't that right? *Pokes Astinus* C'moooon...back me up for once! You always leave these questions for poor ol' me to answer, even though you know I have a grueling stint in the service of the Finnish military to serve and x amount of fanfics to review/RP posts to write/children's card games to win, you callous modding person, you. The least you could do is FEEL SORRY FOR ME! ;; *Whineth*

Oh yeah, all the time, but seeing as how I've altered pretty much everything in my plot - including the main villain, the protagonist's gender and starter, the region it takes place, and goodness knows what else - I see no reason to believe that the ending would be any different in that regard. As far as I'm concerned, it's still up in the air.

Wow, I haven't logged on in five days? O.O

When it comes to Pokemon learning new moves, do you go strictly by game canon or do your own thing?

Mostly I stick to canon, but my Pokemon learn more than four moves in my fics and sometimes they learn moves not in their natural movesets. I don't put in moves of my own creation, though.

When you complete a fic, how does it feel?

I've only finished two things other than one-shots, and they gave me a sense of satisfaction. Or, in one case, a strong feeling of love and despair that I would no longer be able to work with the character I'd fallen in love with. This problem was solved with several one-shots and the addition of a temporary extra in Visions Of Fate.

How do you go by having your fic known before and after the thread is posted? Do you tell it to others, links, banners, preview threads, etc.?

I occasionally mention it accidentally-on-purpose in other people's threads, or suggest it directly to people if I think they'll enjoy it. And I almost always advertise it in my sig. *Points down to sig* I'd love a banner, but I failed at making one and messed up horribly when someone supplied me with one, so now I refuse to use them.

Haven't any of you ever reviewed or started up a conversation partially just to let people know you are there and to generate a little bit of interest in your work?

I have suggested my own fic in clubs and reviews of other people's fics... but not often. I just mostly like to lurk and I post if there's anything important I need to say. I almost always review only to say what I like and what can be improved in a chapter/one-shot.

I avoid that stuff personally, but I know other people like it, and it can be good if it's done well. I've only seen one example of this.

I have part of an ending planned, but even I don't pretend to know what my characters will do. Once on the paper/computer screen, they're out of my control. I can only influence them. I think the ending can make a huge difference to a fic, like how I badly messed up the ending for one of my fics and am so glad I never got to post it.

Yes. I normally think of and ending and then figure out how the characters get to that point in the story(because it's normally depressing...shut up) to have it end like that. And yes, I stick by it. The only thing that may change is how we get to it. That, and in Face Down it was originally set to be ViridianShipping, but I thought it was more suit for FeelingShipping, so I changed it.

Yes. It does. Just the other day I was reading Oni Flygon's What Are Friends For? and it was going good...until...at the end...Yellow and Green named their daughter...

A flash of blinding light was seen and heard and the screaming stopped. Two bodies crumpled to the floor, lifeless. A man with blue spiky hair in his twenties walked over to the bodies.

"Dispose of them" he smiled as he said this

Two men came and grabbed the bodies, accompanied by two Pokemon they dragged the bodies away, their legs helpless in the hands of the men. They got to a quiet place in the woods and got their two dog Pokemon, Houndoom, to bear their teeth, they stared at their prey and dug in.


15 years into the future, a boy just awoken from a terrible dream.
