I decided to post after lurking around this thread for a number of days watching odd events unfold.
Just because I'm dyslexic doesn't mean you get to make fun of me. ;_; I mean, look at how far dyslexics have gotten in this world! *motions to the White House*
Jax, m'dear, I know you've made a lot of brilliant posts related to fan fiction and that you've made a lot of amazing posts in which you absolutely shredded someone else, but this is your best post of all time.
AAHHH
-sheilds eyes-
NOOOOOOO
-runs away faster than Wheel Kirby-
You guys are scary!
We need a more serious mod, like Christos
If we did have a more serious mod in this section and you became a regular, in a couple of days or weeks you wouldn't be the type of member that frequents this forum anymore.
Oh, I could be serious and infract all of you right now for going off-topic in this thread. And there will be a new infraction for each off-topic post that does not have the topic in the post. Then I can delete all those posts. Or I could just close this thread, and make it so that no one can relax here.
Plus, I'll think I'll add to the rules that each chapter must have no typos, and be at least ten pages long. Short stories that go over the character limit will be closed, because short stories should only be 3000 words or under, and the writer will be infracted.
Next, I'll ask for the forum to be put on moderation, which means that I must approve all posts and threads. And if I feel like being a lazy person, then no threads/posts for you. If I'm feeling particularly mean, I'll deny the thread under the pretense that I just don't like you.
Lastly, if your post contains a grammar error of any kind, you are automatically permanently banned from the forum. Or if I don't like what it is that you said.
So, in summary: I can be serious if you want me to be. But I don't think you want that.
Was that an instant improvisation? If that was, well, Astinus, if you didn't already have my undying respect, you would have it now.
Well, if you WERE serious, this thread wouldn't BE so off topic!
You're
the main a contributor in the off topic talking!
Well, I should leave you
old big people alone to do your stuff...
-walks off whistling-
PS.
If you infracted everyone who posted off-topically for every off-topic post, half the people in the Fan Fiction section would be banned (including you!)
You people never understand when not to post.
GUYS. I FOUND IT. THE FANFICTION ORGY!!!!!!!!!!! -shot-
Jaxxxy (three x') x Oni x Scythey x Asty x Phany x Thesis and his many blasphemic names x Alter ego x The stupid Gummy bear x this random silver person x Baybaybaybaybaybay x Turtleking x Lashy (ogod) x mewthree(random fandom!) x Saff x Sike x Jaxxy (owait, already said him xD) x bobandbill (mirror b!!) x DP479 x this luphinid person x DP-Chan x fanfiction x Guest x parody one-shot x John Paul x Andy x Angel
Those were the days. I never managed to get round to
writing posting that Fan Fiction Lounge parody one-shot, which is a shame.
I think I managed to prove my point, whatever it was.
And I'm the one that never makes sense?
I would have liked more wank, but the forums weren't cooperating with me on that point. (It took me forever to even get this far.)
Good to know, good to know.
I come to PC because it's fun. I can talk to my friends that I can't talk to anywhere else. And if we do that in a thread where we've had plenty of laughs before, then I would like to think that it's fine.
Think? Hanako (if you'll excuse me for using your old name), the only reason I'm on any forum is if I can get laughs from it. If I had to go with loads of strict rules, why would I bother staying? In real life, people say and do random things, and have a good time with their friends. Just because it's a forum doesn't mean that we all have to turn into robots.
But there's always those that want to ruin the fun that others have. I'm sure that in a few days, the "off-topic" posts in this thread would die off and we would all go back to talking about fanfiction. But for now, let those who enjoy it have their chance to have a little fun.
E.g., as soon as I post, but whatever works for you guys.
If you don't like it, don't comment on it. Just ignore it.
If we were talking about bullying right now I would laugh at that advice.
This thread's back open because I proved my point at how boring this section is and how wide-spread your comments can become. You don't just hurt the person that you direct the comment towards, but others as well.
In all fairness, it was the comments of someone who really didn't know what he/she was saying, but it did indeed travel as fast as the news that John Lennon had been murdered. Not that I was there at the time or anything, just that I fugured the news would have gone round pretty fast.
Now if you don't mind, I want things to go back to what they were last night. And if things continue the way that they did a few hours ago... Well, I came to the decision that if I can't come here to relax with friends, then I would step down as moderator years before I actually want to. I feel it would be better to remove myself from the rest of you than it would be better for myself.
Ahaha. Hanako Tabris not being a moderator. That is a sight in the very distant future, nowhere near present day, I can assure you. Mostly because if you were to do that, everyone else that frequents this forum would bug you to reclaim your moderator hood 25 4/7. Well, I would, anyways.
ARK...nooo....xD
Long emotional speeches sway me a lot...xD
Shut up. Now.
So do I. I think, to tell you the sad truth, I have more friends on here. So really, I don't want to see this thread locked again, or...
I don't want this thread locked. I know I don't post here as much as I could, or have, or should, but I do know that these days when I click on it, it won't be filled with essay-long speeches about why everyone hates OT fics, but that there'll always be a joke that'll make me chuckle.
Chuckle. What a word.
I'd also like to say a thanks to Astinus for reopening the thread and for taking the time to say all of that about the Fanfiction Lounge. And I do agree completely with Silver in saying that PC is a place to have fun and that the last thing I'd like to see in this forum is you stepping down.
It's incredibly relaxing here, having a near-guarantee for freedom of speech, even if it doesn't have to do with fanfiction. I know that if I want to make a comment here, I won't get smacked the way I would in other forums or other boards, and that's a comfort in that I feel that I can open up to people here more than on most other places (except LiveJournal) without having to look over my shoulder if I say something that could even be misconstrued as off-topic. In that sense, I connect with other writers and other people who share my interests freely and without worry, which means in that sense the Fanfiction Lounge serves its purpose.
After all, I don't know. Maybe I'm just misinterpreting the point of this thread, but I never, even before I started in on the "off-topic" parts, felt it was so much a place where we went on and on about fanfiction so much as it was a place for writers to mingle. No fanfiction in that definition or anything. Just a socialization thread. Maybe that's what you're both saying about it, but I don't know if we're the only ones (or if I'm the only one) with that interpretation.
See, the reason why people just say they agree with you so much is because they can't phrase what you've said any better.
