We all have reasons why we still love Pokemon! What is your favorite aspect?

    -The General Storyline
    -Battling
    -Trading
    -Breeding
    -Challenges
    -Other (Please State)

    And Explain why!

My favorite aspect is definitely doing Challenges. It just makes me feel like I always have some set goal that I have to do, so that I can play a game over and over, rather than playing the same story line every time.

My favorite thing about pokemon is experiencing the new creatures. There's always a sense of wonder when I run into a pokemon I've never seen before.

I've always loved the story of the games, and being able to explore for new Pokemon, hidden items, etc. I don't do any sort of competitive battling or breeding, but I always like to train my Pokemon up as well- even if they'd probably get creamed by a lot of people.

And while this is a poll question, since it's one that only deals with the games rather than an encompassing favorite aspect of Pokemon, I'll move this over to Pokemon Gaming Central for you.

    MOVED.

I love the aspect of catching Pokemon in general. I love discovering new Pokemon and learning which ones are good battlers and which aren't. Some Pokemon really surprise me me when I see how cool or strong they actually are. I didn't love Scrafty as much as I do until I gave it a try and seeing how strong it is.

Probably the incredible amount of Pokemon to chose from, raise and battle with.
Its great that you can replay a game as many time as you want, and using a new party every time!

Discovering for yourself how each new species fares in battle provides a ton of replay value to the games. Also, and I know I'm in the minority here, I love seeing what kind of villain plot Game Freak attaches to each new generation of games.

I just love to discover new Pokémon when new games are introduced; one way or another, they always make me go "whoa." XD;; Aside from that, I also look forward to the story of games. It's one of the main reasons why I buy them.

Battling. Pokemon's battling system is what brings me to like Pokemon. There's some battles that really make you think what you're going to have to do next, and give you a challenge.
Of course, there's other good battling systems such as Final Fantasy's many different ones, but Pokemon's is still my favorite.

I mainly love catching the Pokemon, I always want to catch as many of the new Pokemon every time I play a new generation for the first time. It's always nice discovering and catching new Pokemon everywhere you visit.

    Nowadays, there are two:

    1. Collecting. I don't battle competitively, but I still like to breed and collect stuff with good IVs just because, which I can not only keep for collective purposes, but play around with in stuff like the Battle Frontier/Subway/Maison/PWT. It's fun getting them.

    2. Challenges. Since there are so many Pokémon to use, you can use new teams and have different experiences each time. Nuzlockes, Wedlockes, Monotypes and such are the ones that really stand out for me. (And Mono-Color nowadays, also.)

When I was a kid I was all about battling with the strongest pokemon, but now I'm all about the story and side quests in the games. When it comes to the whole franchise, what got me into it was the idea of these small, cute creatures having the potential to become extremely powerful; even some of the weakest pokemon can cause devastation yet these creatures could also be you're best friend.

The new Pokemon, and new ideas related to them! Every game brings something new to this aspect. Like how Gen V brought the DNA Splicers and Black/White Kyurem, and Gen IV gave us new evolutions for existing Pokemon (Electivire, Magmortar, etc), Gen VI brought us Vivillon. This showcased what Game Freak were capable of, when you give them a new game, with new features. So many forms. @_@

On top of that, Mega Evolutions. When they were announced, so many people (I included) thought it was Game Freak running out of ideas, but when they were released, I was dead wrong. Sure it seemed it, but it was really a way to give both fan favourites and underrated Pokemon a boost.

I love finding the new Pokemon in each game, and training them a while to see what kinds of cool moves they have access to. Battling is the name of the game. A good story always helps, but I often find myself speeding through the text "blah blah blah" Blastoise, use Hydro Pump!

The fact that Pokemon is so customizable with the large variety of Pokemon is great to me. It gives us the most options for challenges, some of which are simple and some of which are complex. That's a part of why I love challenges so much. There are a ton of possibilities! It's exciting to see what myself and others can come up with, and it's a great feeling to say you've beaten the games with these restrictions that challenges pose to you.

I also love collecting things. I finally completed the Pokedex in X and it was pretty great. I love just...hoarding a bunch of Pokemon, really. Playing with them in Amie, EVing them, giving them better moves, and just enjoying my time catching and training them. Trading also plays into this, since without it, my Dex would have never been complete.

So it's challenges, collecting, and trading for me. :)

I just like the feeling of using trained pokemon that are new and I thought were cool, cute, etc. When I finish training a party it's like a breath of fresh air. XD
So I guess I just love the end result of training Pokemon I like.

During my first times in playing Pokemon, I never really cared for battling tbh. I enjoyed mostly the fact that you could go and explore around and talk to everyone. As the years pass, I found myself enjoying battling, contests and finding new Pokemon too. I can't really say I have a favorite aspect; I love them all equally and without one of these aspects, it feels like one of the game is incomplete. If I really had to choose, I would pick the Pokemon themselves as an aspect. How you can do lots of stuff with them, battling, even communicating with them in a way. :)

Basically, the adventure. It sums up everything people have said on previous posts. Meeting new Pokemon, discovering new places, even that feeling when you talk to a NPC and something completely unexpected happen (free items, trade, mission, etc). It's mainly the adventure for me, story + all of the above.

That's a tough one because there are so many aspects of these games that I love. I think my favorite would have to be that there are so many different ways to play the game, especially these days with all of the hacks all over the internet. When I started playing as a kid, I'd literally spend days in my room raising different combinations and different teams. For example, one of the things I love to do is use a team full of rare, but difficult to raise pokemon. It makes it challenging but also really fun because some of my favorites are quite hard to raise. Smeargle for example gets to be a challenge if you're raising it from the start.
