Throughout Johto there are a few side-quests. Delivering Kenya to the guy near Violet City, healing Miltank, and catching the biggest Magikarp to name a few. I'm sure there are more then that, but I can't think of them. What was your favorite side-quest?

My favorite was finishing the Unknown Report, well, trying to finish it. Lol.
(I spent around 2 hours catching all 26 unknown, only to find out that I needed to have Ho-Oh to get ! and ?)

Healing the sick Miltank is my favorite side-quest. The reward is actually good (the seal case).

Not to mention that you can also buy MooMoo Milk out of doing that side-quest too. That was a rather nostalgic sidequest for me to do, that one, so that ranks higher for me due to that as well.

The get-highest-scores for the Pokeathlon is another entertaining 'sidequest' to do I suppose due to all the minigames and entertainment value. =)

Of course! How could I forget the Pokeathlon!? Lol. I love doing the minigames there.

I liked completing the national pokedex in this game the most cause it was the perfect level of difficulty it was not impossible but it was still fun and difficult. But if you dont classify that as a side quest i liked getting the gym leaders numbers and the pokethalon

I'd say the Dex completion counts as a side-quest. I mean its not required, so yeah. Lol. I have never once, in any Pokemon game, ever, completed the National Dex xD

Arceus event! (Well, it looked like a "small" quest for me). I felt goosebumps watching the cut-scene. <3

But of course, Miltank made it so nostalgic that I loved it. So I rank Heal the Miltank at # 1. :D

The whole Arceus event was amazing! Lol. I never expected real pictures in a Pokemon game; and yeah, healing Miltank has lots of nostalgia to it.

Not started my Heart Gold game yet but my favourite on Gold and Silver was to try and beat Cooltrainer Nick in the bug catching contest :)

    becoming the pokeathalon champion

    Re: FEvorete Johto Side-Quest

You remember the guy from the Goldenrod City gate? The one that gives you a SPEAROW that is holding mail. Yea, that guy.

I like this side-quest because you are not obligated to give the SPEAROW to the guy on Route 31. All you need to do to "steal" the SPEAROW is remove and dispose of the Mail that it is holding. Who needs Pokeballs!? Just Steal a SPEAROW! Mu ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!

I don't care if you think that is dishonest, that SPEAROW when it is Level 100 will be worth FAR MORE than the stupid TM you get for completing the side-quest.

I liked the spearow quest because you can just take it but i chose to get the TM. Too much time wasted if i go and finish the Unown report after it took me 2 hours in Platinum.

My personal favs are the spearow thing and the miltank healing. I got the spearow, and battled with it, it went up a level *WHOOP, POOF!!*, I got a fearow!! So I ended up not giving it to that guy :D.

The miltank thing, well... I did get a good reward.

    Definetely the Pokeathlon.
I spent quite a few hours beating records then trying to re-beat the records set by me haha.
However I like the Catch the Biggest Magikarp one as well, don't know why but I enjoy it *shrugs*

Definitely being the Pokeathlon Champion. I love it when I pwn people in SS since I can't even win at contest back in the days of Emerald and D/P/Pt.

Does completeling in the Pokealthon count as a sidequest?

Because if so, that would be my favorite. Although the competition that was hard was Snow Throw, I still manage to beat all 10 events and earned a star on my trainers card for it =]
