favorite starter?

Hard to say. Torchic was my first ever starter but while I loved it a lot in the past years, I don't hold the same attachment anymore. I guess it's Treecko now (I really like Sceptile a lot). Keep in mind I still Torchic, just not to the same level, same with Cyndaquil and Froakie.

Hoenn: Mudkip / Treecko (can't choose, I've used both extensively)
Sinnoh: Turtwig
Unova: Snivy
Kalos: Chespin

Haven't played gen 7 & 8 yet. And other than Charmander and Snivy I don't have any strong preferences, they're all great.

Gotta be Treecko. Besides the fact Mega Sceptile just might be my absolute favorite, Charmander gets edged out because Charizard kinda needs the Charizardite X to give him that extra needed boost in the right places.

Overall I'd have to say the Torchic line just because I love Blaziken and used it countless times during the RSE days. Venusaur is a close runner up.

Fennekin, of course! The only time I didn't have to trade away or deposit my starter since I started specializing in Psychic types.
