My top three: Grass, Poison, and Normal

Also, it has some of my favorite moves in it. And a lot of cool pokemon that make it into my top 50.

I love water types most. Second would be fire types.

Bug - Because there are a lot of cool Bug-types like Yanmega, Heracross, Ariados, etc.
Ground - Because it's got Gliscor, Rhyperior, Hippowdon, and bunch of my other favorites.
Fighting - Machamp, Hitmontop, Breloom, Poliwrath...many others, I'm sure I've forgotten some...
Flying - Gliscor, Togekiss, Yanmega, without even thinking...

Gee whistles, tough decij. I picked grass for whatever reason, even though I tend to favor electric/poison/psychic/ice types in battle. :/

I seem to notice that there aren't many fire/ghost types and there are no pure Flying types.

Definitely grass. I always pick a grass starter and those are usually the ones I end up training and fighting with.
