No one wants an FFV remake? Most unappreciated game in the series.

Listen! In my view why do it for PS3?(were in the credit crunch people!)
Like if i want it and i have like £20 per day in the summer holidays and PS3's are like £369.99 plus £29.99 game!
and i could be better on DS or PSP!
*Hides*(better keep my opinions to my self, huh?)

Actually, I HATE the unappreciative aspect a lot of people have on XII. I love that game, and find pleasure in proving FFXII-haters wrong. :3 I'll stick up for any FF game though. I liked both V and II, they were both a lot of fun, though I haven't beaten V...

Actually, the story of II was much more detailed than III was, then it went back up in IV. I love III as well though. As long as you open your mind up sometimes, they are all extremely appreciative games.

FFXII isn't one of my favourites. I just didn't like the battle system as much as in previous ones, was a good story though.

I don't want any new FF games on PS3 till FFXIII comes out. I am strapped for cash as it is and although I already own a PS3 I have no where near enough money to pay for a new game on PS3 and driving. Would like to see some more on DS, although still have to complete III, I been procrastinating on that one.

It's okay with me Razer, as long as you don't DIS or insult FFXII, I have no problem whatsoever. Glad you liked the story though!

Am I the only one who uses the FFIII DS Item Multiplication Glitch here or do others know of it too?

Better on the PsP system, but well it's my opinion though.

I would like to see another action style on PSP like Chrisis Core. Loved that Game. I think ones done with turns and such should be on the DS as I feel it works better on their.

I think it did sell well, but that's just from me and my home forum's reaction to it. I have no real proof really. :P

I personally want the V and VI FF's on the PSP. I prefer more scenes being voice acted and special CG scenes as specials rather than no voice acting and voice acted scenes as specials.

Yeah, CC was a brilliant game. They need to do that with other FF's.

Don't forget also that Nintendo helds the license for the first sixth games, that's another fact. (I know about the 20th anniversary ''remakes'' of FFI-FFII for the PsP, but that was a merely update XD.)
Well, at least I hope to see an FFV and FFVI remakes for the Ds, if that the case, but only one question? The FFIV remake sold well? someone has the info? Hope yes, if not I doubt we'll see more remakes.
Contrary to popular belief, Nintendo does not hold the license for any game in the Final Fantasy series. Neither does Sony, which I have to add because a guy at GameStop told me Sony owned the rights to Cloud, to explain why he wasn't used in Mario Hoops 3-on-3. I don't know why her brought that up. Its a common misconception that these companies own the rights because at one time it seemed as though Nintendo did, see Final Fantasy, Castlevania, MegaMan, and others non-Nintendo series in Captain N the Game Master. Rest assured that Square-Enix owns the rights to each and every game series, and every game in the series, that it has created. Thus, they can make games and re-release games on any platform they want. Here's a fun fact, Nintendo actually barred Square-Enix from re-releasing FFs I-VI on its GameBoy Advance handheld system long before they actually did, possibly because of them switching to Sony. As we all know though, Nintendo eventually changed their minds and allowed the re-releases to be made, except III, although that may have been SE's decision.

Remember that each Final Fantasy, bar III, was remade for PlayStation for three FF Collections on the system, which HD remakes of Final Fantasy I & II for the PSP. The reason that III & IV were remade for the DS is most likely because its easier to program for and has sold more units, which translates into more potential sales.

True fact.

Very interesting didn't know that details, and FFIV remake sold well then?
As of July 9, 2008, Final Fantasy IV DS sold 612,044 copies in Japan. Worldwide it has sold 1,074,108 copies. I'd have to say it sold well. ^.^

Final Fantasy III sold well too, having sold 500,000 units within the first week in Japan, beating Square Enix's original prediction that they would only sell 350,000. As of August 6, 2007, the game sold 990,000 units in Japan and 460,000 units in North America. As of August 8, 2008, it sold 480,000 units in Europe.

Yay, then I can expect an FFV DS or PSP. I'm hoping for a PSP release, because then the graphics for a full FF game(Crisis Core was short, more graphics, more memory to do so) but since this is a full FF game, maybe the graphics could be on par with Dissidia and FFX. That wouldn't be bad at all.

Not that I'm saying I wouldn't play it if it were on the DS. Either way it has potential to make really good sales and it will be an awesome remake either way.

I've been wondering in Dissidia, why Luneth wasn't included. I know he wasn't an original character, just inserted along with the other three, but don't you think he'd be referenced? Instead they created a whole nother personality for the Onion Knight. That will surely confuse Western gamers, no? xD

But then again, since when has Square never stopped the confusion? xD It all started then they made that horrible decision to name FFIV FFII in the States... still, I guess I can't blame them.

Another thing I noticed, Cecil's DS version of Darkness was scrapped, returning to the wavy area attack of the first games. I guess they're trying to keep to original games as much as possible.

New characters are confirmed for the US Dissidia release, not to play as(aw) but extra scenes and stuff(yay). Quite possibly we may see a Gilgamesh, Genesis, Seymour, Vayne, Doctor Cid...? in some scenes? Here's hoping!

No such Dissidia II is planned UNLESS the game sells well in the US and other Western/EU areas. If they do, the directors have confirmed they will definitely consider making a sequel. However, I'm guessing they'd wait till around FFXIV-FFXVI era is around. Unless they don't want fresh characters.

As long as SOME hero from FFXII is present in the next one(hoping it's Ashe, not Vaan, but I'll take it if I have to) then I'm happy. ^_^

Okay, yeah that's true. :P

God, time flies. I remember going crazy over the Dissidia trailer not too long ago. Now I just beat Cloud's part and since he's my second one, I now have access to the Museum in Dissidia. :3 That means I'll be uploading tons of videos! I'm almost at 100 videos on youtube, yay.

Chances are it would be released on DS since its easier to program than PSP, largely due to not needing to program as sophisticated graphics. I also believe that they wouldn't want to make them as realistic model-wise so as to match the original sprites better. A game on the DS also has better possibilty for sales than a game on the PSP based on the number of sales for each system.

Thanks for answering Crys I'm happy now =)
No problem, my pleasure.

Final Fantasy IV & VI were renamed II & III to maintain the numbering system so fans wouldn't believe that they had missed games since the original FF was the only other one released.

My guess is that they'll be referenced in flashback scenes, but thats speculation. They may, possibly, though unlikely, show up as playable as well.

Oh Dissidia what have you done, now we want to see more characters on it, everyone have an special one, and that's a problem XD.
I'm actually good, I've got my Terra, so I'm happy. I am hoping some of the new character moves mentioned include a few new Melee moves for her though. I will say it needs more girls though, but that goes for most of the FFs considering that there are only two leads in FF, Terra & Lightning, although it could be debated that Ashe is the lead in XII, since it has a similar case to what VI had, no clear main character, at least story-wise.
