Female // 23 // Lincoln, Nebraska // Pillar // Wind // Calm // Boost
Combat: As someone typical of her class would, Allison almost always works from a distance, supporting her teammates from a far. Her weapon of choice from this range is a reuglar re-curve bow, gifted to her by her father. It is a normal weapon, but combined with her precision and skill it's a deadly weapon to be reckoned with and that's not even including her magic. When her arrows are paired with wind magic, the distance and accuracy of her shots are unprecedented. She can't make her arrows magically home in on they're target, but the magic greatly assists her on the battlefield.
Although she prefers to work with as much separation between herself and her targets as she can, there come some times were targets begin to close in on Allie. This is where her throwing knives come into play. As her bow becomes much less effective in close range she uses her throwing knives to at least slow down those that are getting into her comfort zone, and is able to move back quickly.
The only other type of magic that Allie uses heavily, is to boost up the power of her allies' magic, making traps stronger, or shields last longer or be thicker. It's rather befitting of her compassionate, loving personality that she be someone who helps support her allies on the battlefield
Appearance: Standing at exactly five-foot-ten, Allie is rather tall for a woman her age. She has a rather long and slender figure which matches well with her height. However, she's not just skin and bone as she's built up quite a bit of lean muscle from working around the circus and her daily training. Surprisingly enough, her pale white skin has stayed rather unblemished even through the strenuous workloads that she has put it through. She doesn't think too much of her own appearance, but the feature she likes best about herself would be her chestnut colored hair. She it rather short, letting it grow to just about the back of her neck. Most of the time she'll keep her hair down, but when she has to exert herself she ties it back into a ponytail.
Allie's closet makes her look like some sort of hipster
or someone who's trying to look like one with quite a few pairs of Converse, lots of skinny jeans and leggings, multitudes of tank tops, and flannels, lots and lots of flannels. Her favorite outfit is a tank top paired with some skinny jeans, a red and black checkered flannel wrapped around her waist, and a pair of squeaky clean white converses to finish it out.
Personality: Going about her days with an almost everlasting grin on her face, Allison Hughes possess a personality so bright and cheery one might go blind if looking at her too long. Ever since she was a small child she's been an extremely kindhearted and compassionate individual, invariably considerate of others. She always has a cool head about her and is often the peacemaker in any sort of conflict that arises around her. Her almost motherly sort of attitude makes her a rather likable person, and over the years as she traveled with the family circus, she made quite a number of friends in different places.
As expected with her eternally friendly attitude, Allie has a positive outlook on everything and can find the bright side of things in circumstances that may otherwise have been devastating. Because of her bright outlook on the world, she's very trusting and is often willing to give strangers the benefit of the doubt, as she believes all people are inherently good. Despite her views, Allie isn't a bumbling airhead as they may imply. She's rather intelligent and when she puts her mind to something she'll put her all into it, such as when she started learning archery and how to throw knives.
History: Born in a train car on its way from Des Moines, Iowa to Lincoln, Nebraska, it's a miracle that Allison's birth went smoothly. The Hughes Bro Circus had just wrapped up its last showing in Des Moines and were hightailing it back to Lincoln where the rest of the Hughes family resided. No one really knows why Allison's mother, the circus' prized trapeze artist, was still travelling with the spectacle as she seemed ready to pop any day, but it was because of that decision to be with the circus that Allie was born two cars down from some elephants.
The Hughes Bro Circus was run by Allison's father and uncle. Who had inherited it from their father and uncle, as they had from their's. It was a strange heirloom, but the family took pride in running the Midwest's biggest spectacle year round. The senior Hughes was a kindly man who had fallen in love with the show's best trapeze artist, soon the feeling became mutual and they got hitched and along came Allie.
From the day of her birth, Allie was a part of the circus. Her father would bring her out when announcing the different acts, and her mother would always kiss her forehead as good luck before going out to swing on the ropes. She sat on the shoulders of clowns as they practiced on their unicycles, and threw peanuts for the elephants when they learned a new trick. She was constantly surrounded by the hustle and bustle of the show that her parents ran, and while their jobs were quite hectic her parents loved their daughter dearly and did all that they could for her.
As she grew older Allie wanted to be a part of the show. By now she had been quite well known as the sweet young girl who helped out with everything, but she wanted more than that. She wanted to be in the circus. Her first choice was to learn to go out and swing on the ropes with her mother and while she asked as sincerely as she could, her parents refused to let her learn in the fear she might get hurt. Slightly deterred, but not discouraged the young girl went around trying out the different acts. There was no way she could be strong man she found out almost immediately. She loved the elephants, but it became quite clear that they didn't share the same sentiment. And there was no way she wanted to be a clown. Just as she was wondering if there actually was something she could do, she came across the impalement artists at work.
Knives were being flung at people standing still as a board, archers shooting at apples blindfolded. Something about it all felt so thrilling to the young Allie. She asked one of the knife throwers if she could have a try at throwing at the targets. They obliged and on the first three tries she sunk two of the knives into the dead center while the third fell slightly to the side. It had seemed that the girl had found her calling. Allison would spend her days with the impalement artists, working as hard as she could in getting better. It became apparent that she was extremely skilled in both throwing knives and archery.
Soon enough she began performing in front of live audiences and at the age of fourteen became the star of the impalement acts. She was throwing knives at people spinning on tables and would shoot apples off the heads of her friends. It was thanks to the mix of her natural talent and continued hard work that she was able to become one of the best at what she does.
Eventually, Allison's parents wanted her to go off to college. Even if she were to come back to the circus they wanted her to further her education, so after quite a bit of discussion about it she agreed to go to the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. She enrolled at the age of 20, a couple years after the normal freshman, but nonetheless she made quite a few friends and even became an avid member of the archery club on campus.
