• "Same place your going. I need to heal up Hoothoot and Pawniard. Im not going to face the gym leader until i watch someone else battle him. That way i could tell where to improve on." Explained Stephany.
Will agreed with her. That would make sense. He had to come up with a strategy before facing a gym leader. He did that in Sinnoh too. Will was sure one of those other trainers he saw at the lab will challenge the gym leader soon.
"So.....I was wondering.......do you like traveling with anybody or do you like to go by yourself?" She asked him.
Will thought about what to say. He never traveled with someone else before. He didnt want to upset her by saying he liked to travel alone.
"Well... I never actually traveled with anyone before... I mean... I guess i can get lonely..." Will said.
He had no clue what to say. He never really thought about traveleling with other people until now.

• She showed him a faint smile, not wanting to completely smile since they just met. "It's okay, I never traveled with others, which is why I like to travel by myself too. I never tried it though, and I just get nervous a lot with strangers," she said, feeling lazy as they approached the city. "I was just wondering though," she added in.

A random thought pops into her head, yet was interrupted when suddenly Hoothoot landed on her head. An awkward moment took over, Stephany a bit nervous about the pokemon on her head. Hoothoot was nervous as well, yet both grew used to the feeling. Hoothoot was relieved to be relaxing. "Want to train together sometime? I would like to know how you trained your Ambipom that well," she asked him, Pawniard wondering as well. "I can teach you some tricks as well."

Keeno Kabess, Route 1 - Viridian City

Keeno didn't carry many items. He had his computer case and another portfolio for his notebooks and papers. Not really the best travelling kit, so why did he have that? Well, thing was that he lived in Viridian City! He worked for professor Oak in Pallet Town and had a room there since he often worked late and stayed the night there. But many days he went by bicycle between the cities. He didn't live alone, he stayed with his parents in Viridian.

The 19 year old boy, or man if you will, brushed the black hair away from his face and pedaled faster. Even though he went by bike, several trainers might already have reached Viridian since they left before him.

As he biked on, he suddenly saw something flutter behind the trees on his right side. A wild pokémon? He instantly braked and came to a stop. Not really being a fighter, he was careful when large wild pokémon were spotted, but he was still used to it since he'd followed the professor out on field trips now and then.

The shape behind the trees somehow flew up and made the leaves rustle. What was it?

"It's so big..." Keeno thought and swallowed. There weren't supposed to be any very large pokémon in this forest! Unless... "A Pidgeot, of course. It has to be a Pidgeot patrolling it's territory. Fine!"

Content with his guess, he started biking away again. That was when Vibrava shot out out the tree and landed on Keeno in a cheerful greeting. Keeno screamed for his life and pedaled even faster.

Vibrava wondered why Keeno wasn't happy with him greeting the human. Hm, and this human was running really fast. Too fast. He jumped off and took to the air above instead.

The sudden change in weight made Keeno's bike start wobbling and after a few seconds crash into a bush on the roadside. Keeno came up from the bush, furious, and turned to the "wild" pokémon.

"What on earth are you?" he said and pulled out a pokédex from his pocket... yes, he had taken a pokédex from the drawer. A shiny, green one. He knew he wasn't allowed to... but he hadn't dared to ask the professor if he could have one on his journey. They were immensely expensive! So he just took one and hoped that the professor wouldn't notice... which he of course would, eventually. No need to think about that right now though.

The 'dex told him that the pokémon was a Vibrava. It couldn't seem to stand still; it was constantly moving around in the air in front of him. And then it suddenly charged.

"Eeek!" Keeno screamed and dove quickly. Vibrava missed him by an inch.

"What is a wild Vibrava doing out here in Kanto? You don't normally live here. Unless..." Keeno thought hard, laying on the ground. "Unless you're one of the Master Quester's pokémon?"

The Vibrava charged at him again. "Smoochum, Confusion!" Keeno called out, terrified, and one of his pokéballs on the belt opened up. A tiny Smoochum came out and instantly used her attack on the oncoming ground dragon.

It hit, and Vibrava involuntarily turned its aim a little to the side and hit the ground instead of the boy. Or man, if you will. It became rather dizzy, and that gave Keeno and Smoochum time to put some distance between them.

"Now what?" he asked her and himself. "We can't battle a dragon! Even if it looks like a bug... We'll have to..."

What he thought he had to do was to grab his ruffed up bike, put Smoochum on his head and pedal away as fast as he possibly could. It wasn't long though before Vibrava noticed that... and flied after, happy to have something to chase!

Keeno was still almost panicking as he suddenly entered an area with houses around him and pavement under his feet. Viridian City already! Perfect, now if he could just find a trainer... he looked over his shoulder. Yep, Vibrava was still chasing him. It was as if it didn't fly in top speed just to not ruin the fun of chasing someone. Oh, great.

He then spotted two people he actually knew. Stephany and Will! Master Questers. They were chatting, but Keeno now biked up to them and interrupted them.

"Hey! Stephany, Will! It's me, Keeno Kabess from the Oak Lab. I, well, I have a problem on my tail so to speak." He motioned towards the Vibrava, who was now closing in on the trainers. "Is anyone of you strong enough to get that thing to calm down? It's been chasing me!"

"Smoochum!" Smoochum said beggingly from the top of his head, as to emphasize that her trainer was serious.

• "Hey! Stephany, Will! It's me, Keeno Kabess from the Oak Lab. I, well, I have a problem on my tail so to speak." He motioned towards the Vibrava, who was now closing in on them. "Is anyone of you strong enough to get that thing to calm down? It's been chasing me!" he hollered out, grabbing their attention.

"Smoochum!" Smoochum said beggingly from the top of his head, as to emphasize that her trainer was serious. Pawniard grew confident of his abilities, still having some fight left in him. Stephany stepped foward, knowing Will's pokemon were too injured to take the Vibrava on. 'A Vibrava....I love Flygons, great. Now I have to fight against one of my favorite pokemon,' she pouted, yet spoke to the Keeno.

"I c-can battle it if you like?" she asked, a bit shy, not knowing who Keenos really was. Without hesitating, Hoothoot flapped his injured wings as much as he could. Able to fly over Keeno and land on Smoochum, Hoothoot placed his gaze on the incoming Vibrava. His eyes started to glow bright red, his gaze never out of the dragon pokemon. Right when Vibrava was going to close on them, the dragon's pokemon started to grow red as well. In a few seconds, the Vibrava grew weak and tired. Slumping, it suddenly stopped moving its wings and crashed on to the pavement below. It was sleeping. Hoothoot, on the other hand, was quite tired, panting, he slowly walks towards Stephany. She kneels down to grab the poor thing, lifting him up and hugging him as the bird closes his eyes for rest. Gothorita was glad, Hoothoot not caring about trust. He was wanted to sleep.

In one, quick move, Stephany's Hoothoot had put the Vibrava down. And snoring loudly.

"Oh... that was nifty," Keeno admitted. "Hypnosis eh? How come you can't do that?" he asked Smoochum.

"Smooch!" she said, a bit hurt.

"Oh, nevermind. Thank you, Stephany!" Keeno said, turning back to the girl. "I'm not sure if you remember me, but I was the guy who handed you your pokédex back in Oak's lab!"

That reminded him of the pokédex that was poking out of his own trousers pocket... he quickly pushed it further down so that it wasn't visible. Then he looked at the Vibrava. "Maybe we should take it to the pokémon center... I believe it may belong to another one of you Master Questers," he said, walking up to the dragonfly and taking it in his arms. It was heavier than it looked.

"Ugh... so I'll take this to the pokémon center then. What are you guys up to here? Any plans?" he asked Will and Stephany.

• Will and Stephany watched as the Professor picked up the sleeping dragonfly, the girl amazed Hoothoot stood up to the creature. "Why didn't you do that earlier with the Pidgeys...?" she asked the bird. It was sleeping, so it was useless to get an answer.

"I r-rember y-you.....we're going to the P-Pokemon Center," Stephany answered quite shyly, stuttering. Will seems to be petting Ambipom, the two teens wondering why he tried to hide that pokedex. Maybe he got one too? Stephany gulped and took over, not wanting to make Will do it over her being shy. She wanted Will to see she wasn't that shy. "I mean, we aren't going to face the gym leader right away....our pokemon are injured..."

((OOC: Keeno is the professor's assistant, not a professor himself. ))

"Why didn't you do that earlier with the Pidgeys...?" Stephany asked the Hoothoot. It was sleeping, so it was useless to get an answer.

Keeno smiled. "Maybe that's what all trainers will always need to work on... exactly what to do at what moment. You can never be well prepared enough!"

"I r-rember y-you.....we're going to the P-Pokemon Center," Stephany answered quite shyly, stuttering. She seemed to be a rather quiet and careful girl. "I mean, we aren't going to face the gym leader right away....our pokemon are injured..."

"Great, then we can all walk together to the pokémon center!" Keeno said, and then thought about the other thing Stephany said. "The gym leader? You mean Kimuro, the ground type specialist of Viridian City?"

He started walking towards the pokémon center and hoped that the trainers would follow him. "I can't say I know Kimuro well... he's quite the enigmatic and somewhat intimidating man. But I've met him sometimes and I've seen him battling. Come to think of it... it's a bit problematic that he has the gym in Viridian City. You know, most new trainers starting their journeys in these parts of Kanto skip battling Kimuro until much later. Because he's simply too strong. Maybe the strongest gym leader in the whole region..."

Keeno peeked up between the buildings of Viridian. The gym building couldn't be seen behind the other large buildings, as it was a low and wide one store building.

"But well, you aren't rookie trainers. If you're going to challenge him, you should be prepared for a real battle though. Hey, I want to see you battle him! Let's meet at the gym later?"

Soon, Keeno had reached the pokémon center and walked inside. The Vibrava was starting to twitch in his grip. It would wake up soon! He walked up to the counter.

"Hello, nurse?" he said and a lady ((OOC: NOT nurse Joy, please.....) replied behind the counter.

"I'd like to somehow... well, put this pokémon in safe storage... I mean..." How would he do this? Pokémon centers only took in harmed pokémon. "It's hurt! But I don't know how. Look, it's even sleeping! Can you help it?"

"Oh, we'll help it immediately!" the nurse said. "Do you have its pokéball?"

"Uh... no, I lost it."

"Lost it?" the nurse raised an eyebrow. "Well... we should still help it. Chansey!"

Two Chanseys came walking up to Keeno and took the sleeping Vibrava from him, carrying it back to a room in a corridor.

"We'll let you know when it's healthy!" the nurse said, smiling towards Keeno.

"Oh, fine!" Keeno said, relieved that the Vibrava was off his hands. Then he turned to see if Stephany or any other trainer he knew had come here yet.

((OOC: reposting in case someone missed it))

What to do when you reach Viridian City?

Viridian City hasn't changed much. There's the pokemon center, some stores and cafees, as you expect to find in a medium sized city. There's also the pokemon school, where kids from young age are schooled about pokemon to prepare them a little extra for their journey later on. They will want to battle if you approach the kids when they are on a break from classes!

There's also the pokemon gym, with the leader called Kimuro. He is a middle aged strong and sharp man with black greying hair and beard who specializes in ground types. Now though, he hasn't been seen for several days! There are trainers at the gym that you can battle for fun, but they will all be worried about their missing leader. There simply are no clues and you won't find Kimuro even if you go looking for him.

An important thing to do in Viridian City is to load up and prepare for the journey through the dark Viridian Forest... more about that later.

Viridian City

Locating Vibrava with Furret wasn't as easy as it seemed. After Kate had gotten Furret healed up with a potion, she asked him to scour the tall grass for Vibrava. She showed him a picture of Vibrava and let him sniff it just to be sure. Furret was no bloodhound, but it might help with its nice sense of smell. Kate ordered it to come back with Vibrava after it had found it. Meanwhile, Kate had only Marshtomp to take along the route. She decided to avoid most trainers, although she did fight one with a Rattata named Jimmy, who immediately lost, so to speak. And all the while, no Furret or Vibrava.
Then, at the entrance to Viridian City, where she wouild attempt to look for Vibrava next, she met Furret again, who tried to indicate that it had seen Vibrava. "What are you trying to say?" she crouched down to it. "Furr-Furret, Furret!" it pointed towards the city. "Yes, what about Viridian City?" Kate asked it. "Furrret!" it gave up. Kate decided to call both Furret and Marshtomp back to their Pokeballs to explore the city for her lost Vibrava.
Viridian City seemed large enough. There were various houses here and there, but not a skyscraper in sight. "Not a very modern place, huh?" she spoke to herself as she stared at the Victorian-era houses. Kate had always been more of a city gal, growing up in Mauville, so she thought this place rather unfit to be named 'city'. More like town. If Vibrava had entered one of these houses, she would know. Usually when Vibrava got excited, he would dig holes in the gardens of any house he could see. His excited mode was nothing like his regular mode. Kate called them 'modes' because they were nothing like each other. Then, Kate spotted the one thing around here that looke dremotely modern: The gym. She walked up to it, but on the front door was a note. It said: Kimuro is missing. Gym is closed by the authorities until he is found. Wow, so the gym leader was gone. Too bad, Kate had hoped to fight him.

Then, Kate walked up to the next modern-looking building. The Pokemon Center. Perhaps someone had found Vibrava and brought him here? Kate hoped so. It was about time she found that little rascal. Without further thought, Kate entered the Pokemon Center.
The Pokemon Center was very large, it contained a lower level where the counter was, with a nurse ready to serve, it contained an upper level that could be accessed through two flights of stairs, where international Pokemon fighting and trading was taken care of, and it contained a lower level, in which people could go to a sort of fun house known as the Wifi Plaza. Why they called it that, Kate had no idea. Then, standing near the counter, was a familiar face: Keeno. The boy, man if you will, that handed Kate her pokedex. Professor Oak's assistant, if I'm not mistaken, she thought. Maybe he knew where Vibrava was? Or had at least seen him. He looked a little ruffled up, so there was a good chance he'd had an unfortunate encounter with the vibrating bug. "Hello?" Kate walked up to Keeno. "You're porfessor Oak's assistant, Keeno, right? I was wondering if you'd seen this Pokemon." she held up a picture of herself and Vibrava. "It went wild back in Pallet Town and I lost track of it on Route 1."

• Route One

Of course, the Forest in Route One was pretty thick for Kathy to get through. However, that didn't stop her scientific eye -- the roots, the trees, and the grass were all fascinating. That was when she had an idea.

"I believe it is time for an hypothesis," Katharina proclaimed. "I theorize that the soil here is rich, and full of minerals to substantiate any type of a pokemon's growth. Therefore, if say, I were to observe a pokemon that naturally does not come from here, then z'ere would be no problems for it to grow! If that is the case...let the test begin!"

She then took out a pokeball, and threw it in the air. When the pokeball's energy was released, it materialzed into a root-typed pokemon. It was a Lileep. The lileep was quiet at first, as it blinked from coming out into the open world.

"Leeeep?" the lileep cried, as it was sent out.

"Lileep, I would like for you to use Ingrain, right where you are standing, okay?" Katharina said to it. "Do that for about a minute."

"Lileep!" Lileep cried, as it obeyed by planting its roots on the dirt where he was standing. Then, slowly, particles of light started to form near the roots that Lileep planted on. The particles slowly engulfed Lileep, as Lileep seemed to be calm, and relaxed during the procedure. Katharina calmly and quietly watched as the minute was soon over.

"Okay, Lileep!" Katharina called out. "That is enough!"

"Leeeep!" Lileep answered, as it retracted its roots from the dirt. It seemed to have enjoyed the nutrients it gathered during the Ingrain. "Leep! Leep!"

"As I thought!" Katharina smiled. "Okay, Lileep, return!" She then pointed Lileep's pokeball at it, as Lileep was returned into its cozy pokeball with the red beam from it.

Katharina then looked straight at the sky. "If the nutrients on the ground are as rich as Lileep liked, then all sorts of pokemon would be able to live here..." she pondered. "Perhaps pokemon not even discovered...It's far to bad that they are being caught by trainers everyday. A darn shame...but I suppose science has its downsides as well."

"Hello?" a voice said and made Keeno spin around. It was a Master Quest trainer who had just entered the pokémon center. What was her name again? Ah, the one who came late. Kate Brayve.

((OOC: ;p ))

Kate walked up to Keeno. "You're porfessor Oak's assistant, Keeno, right? I was wondering if you'd seen this Pokemon." she held up a picture of herself and Vibrava. "It went wild back in Pallet Town and I lost track of it on Route 1."

"You don't say?" Keeno said, relieved but showing his tiredness. "I met it alright! That giant bug landed on me when I was biking my way back to Viridian City from Pallet. It wouldn't leave me alone so when I reached Viridian, another trainer's Hoothoot put it to sleep. Stephany, if you remember? She's one of the trainers from Unova."

He then gestured towards the pokémon center counter where the nurses were. "I left Vibrava in the care of the pokémon center. I think they'll realize soon that he wasn't really hurt, only asleep from the Hypnosis attack... You should have no trouble getting your pokémon back since they will believe it's yours if it recognizes you when it wakes up."

"Phew," Keeno then added. "I think it's time for me to visit home for a bit... then I'm thinking of visiting the gym. You want to come? Kimuro is quite the nice guy... if you aren't too intimidated of him when you first meet him."

SPECIAL EVENT FOR MISS DORONJO:

Just as Kathy had pondered the thoughts about nutrients and science and wild pokémon... a wild pokémon who was watching her from the treetops had decided that the girl had been in his part of the route for too long. Her strange pokémon had somehow infested the ground as well... this mighty pokémon had seen it. Time to scare the human off.

Feathers spread and a cry was heard from the Pidgeot as it leaped out from the tree closest to the trainer, preparing to scare her and battle if needed, to show who was the strongest!

How will you handle the sudden attack? Pidgeot is completely bunnyable, but not catchable.

Keeno & The Gym

"You don't say?" Keeno said, Kate looked at him, confused. "I met it alright! That giant bug landed on me when I was biking my way back to Viridian City from Pallet." Keeno explained. "Oh no." Kate murmured. Now she just felt plain embarrassed. Then again, it wasn't Vibrava's fault. He could never really control his outbursts. "It wouldn't leave me alone so when I reached Viridian, another trainer's Hoothoot put it to sleep. Stephany, if you remember? She's one of the trainers from Unova." Keeno finished. "Oh dear. I'm so sorry, Vibrava's not usually like this. He just has these outbursts of excitement from time to time." Kate explained. "I'm afraid I got in late because of plane turbulence, so I wouldn't know any of the trainers I'm competing against." Kate said. She was curious of the whereabouts of her old friend-turned-rival, who was suppose to be in this contest too. Curious. "I left Vibrava in the care of the pokémon center. I think they'll realize soon that he wasn't really hurt, only asleep from the Hypnosis attack... You should have no trouble getting your pokémon back since they will believe it's yours if it recognizes you when it wakes up." Keeno added. "Oh, thank you. You really didn't have to. I never meant to cause you or the other trainers any trouble." Kate said. Keeno nodded. "Phew." he said. "I think it's time for me to visit home for a bit... then I'm thinking of visiting the gym. You want to come? Kimuro is quite the nice guy... if you aren't too intimidated of him when you first meet him." Keeno said. "Yes, when Vibrava's feeling better, I'd love to..." Kate trailed off, remembering the note she had seen on the gym. "Oh, wait, I already visited the gym, and there was a note on the front door. Apparently Kimuro's gone missing and the police shut the gym down 'till they can find him. Too bad." Kate said. "Hope he turns up safe."

"Ahem." a voice came from behind Kate. She turned her attention from Keeno to the nurse behind her. "We have your Vibrava as good as new, sir." the nurse said to Keeno. "Actually, miss, he's mine. My friend here just brought him to the Pokemon center for me." Kate explained to the nurse, who turned her gaze to her. "Very well, here you are." two Chansey brought Vibrava back, he was asleep. "He was only put to sleep by a Pokemon move, nothing serious. Although he has a few bruises here and there, he should be fine now." the nurse said. She withdrew from the counter back with her Chanseys. Kate picked Vibrava up, used to his size and weight, and placed him on the ground of the Pokemon Center. It was true, he had a few bruises. Probably from colliding with trees on his excitement spree. "Vibrava. Wake up." Kate shook him a little.

Vibrava got right up, and stared at his surroundings. He was in a Pokemon center, different to the one from Hoenn, but still. The only recognizable people he could see was Kate and that boy on the bike he'd greeted earlier. An old Pokemon saying went "They're more afraid of you than you are of them." and Vibrava figured that's where this boy was coming from.

"Vibrava, I think you have something to say to Keeno here." Kate said, although she wasn't really angry, she thought Keeno deserved an apology. "Vibravaaa." Vibrava slumped, facing Keeno. "He said sorry." Kate smiled, as she held up his Pokeball and returned him to it. "He goes on these rampages when he's excited or nervous, but he's really pretty balanced the rest of the time. I suppose it's what they mean when they say 'Losing your cool'" Kate explained once more.

• "Great, then we can all walk together to the pokémon center!" Keeno said, and then thought about the other thing Stephany said. "The gym leader? You mean Kimuro, the ground type specialist of Viridian City?" Both Will and Stephany followed the man.

"Yeah...that one," she mumbled out loud enough for both males to hear her. Pawniard eyed the Vibrava, trying to remember where he saw it before. They started walking towards the pokémon center, yet he was leading the way as the two walked in front of him..

'Too strong, eh? That means more training for Pawniard....then I might be able to train with Will!' she grew excited, yet didn't show it. Pawniard's hopes rose, able to see future training coming up.

"Yeah, we can," she responded, Will worried for his injured pokemon. Soon, they had reached the pokémon center and walked inside. The Vibrava was starting to twitch in Keeno's grip.

"Hello, nurse?" Keeno said and a lady replied behind the counter. "I'd like to somehow... well, put this pokémon in safe storage... I mean..." How would he do this? Pokémon centers only took in harmed pokémon. "It's hurt! But I don't know how. Look, it's even sleeping! Can you help it?"

"We'll let you know when it's healthy!" the nurse said, smiling towards Keeno.

"Oh, fine!" Keeno said, relieved that the Vibrava was off his hands. Then he turned, Stephany waving at him. He didn't seem to notice, another girl arriving and suddenly starting a chat. It was that Kate.

"Hello?" Kate walked up to Keeno. "You're professor Oak's assistant, Keeno, right? I was wondering if you'd seen this Pokemon." she held up a picture of herself and Vibrava. "It went wild back in Pallet Town and I lost track of it on Route 1."

They started a conversation, Will able to get another nurse to cure both his buizel and ambipom. Sending them to their respective pokeballs, she did the same. Pawniard didn't seem to like it, yet grabbed his pokeball and did it himself. Both Stephany and Will gave their pokemon to the nurse, now watching her leave with the Chansey to cure them. They watched as the Vibrava was given to Keeno and Kate, another chat starting. They were going to the gym. Both Stephany and Will stood there, waiting for the nurse. She couldn't bring herself to start a conversation, nervous and an awkward silence filling them up.

"Wake up lazy butt, I'm getting tired of carrying you." I laughed as I poked Roswell in the face. We were a little ways into Route 1 now, and Roswell had been sleeping since we had left Pallet Town.

"El . . . gyem," Roswell's eyes fluttered open, staring at me in that way an Elgyem stares; difficult to read. He stayed still for a few moments, finally deciding to float next to me as we walked. We were walking rather slowly, taking in the scenery and watching the wild Pokemon. I didn't plan to actually catch anything just yet, but I also didn't feel like rushing straight to Viridian City.

For a while, everything was normal. Rattata and Sentret ran by playfully, some Pidgey and Pidgeotto flew by overhead and there was the occassional Hoothoot or Furret. I found it rather odd when a Vibrava flew right by me, but I payed little attention to it. It was probably a Pokemon that belonged to another Master Quester, and I found it rather amusing that it was just flying around freely. I was up against a bunch of noobs.

"Sentret . . . ?" I turned to see a little brown Pokemon gazing up at me curiously.

"Oh, hey there," I kneeled down in front of the Pokemon, reaching out my hand and allowing it to sniff it, before I placed my hand on its head and began to stroke its fur. It started to purr a little as I pet it, causing me to smile. It was a cute little Pokemon, I had to admit that.

"Elgy!" Roswell floated down next to me, seemingly jealous.

"Aw, come on! Give someone else a chance for once!" I laughed a little more, still stroking the fur of the Sentret. I reached into my bag and pulled out a Pokemon treat. The Sentret opened its eyes and eyed the treat curiously, sniffing it for a few moments before it snatched it out of my hand and devoured it. "Like it?" I asked, still smiling.

"SENTRET~!!" The little Pokemon cheered, standing up on its tail as it seemed to bounce joyfully. I laughed a little more as I stood up, turning back to Roswell. A second later I felt a weight on my back as the Sentret climbed onto my head. As it did so, it prodded at my bag, most likely wondering if there were any more treats.

"Okay, okay. One more," I pulled out a second treat, handed it to the Sentret and set the Pokemon on the ground. The Sentret squeeled with joy as it ran off into the bushes, cradling its new, precious treat.

"Well that was cute," I chuckled as Roswell and I resumed our floating and walking, respectively.

As we walked a little further, I heard a loud cry coming from what sounded to be a Pidgeot. It didn't sound too happy, and I wasn't sure if I really wanted to find out why.

"Shall we?" I asked Roswell, glancing in the direction of the sound.

"Elgy," Roswell shrugged as he displayed a pattern of lights, which I translated to mean something like Sure, why not? I turned, Roswell floating right beside me, and we began to walk in the direction of the noise.

• A strange sound of flapping wings was the next thing Katharina noticed. Perhaps it was the sound of the baby Pidgey resting up from the nest. However, when Katharina looked, the pokemon was way bigger than any pidgey. It was a wild Pidgeot...ready for a brawl.

"PIDGEOT, OT!" It cried loudly, as it started to take flight. Katharina shielded herself from the gusts that Pidgeot made when it flapped its powerful wings. Then, it swooped down, then pulled it self back up, giving Katharina a warning that it was going to strike, should it swoop down once again.

"I must of invaded its habitat..." Katharina said, as she pulled out her pokedex. Indeed, the wild pokemon she is facing is known as a Pidgeot, which if it flap its wings with all its might, then it is able to bend durable trees. "Wait Pidgeot! There must of been some mistake--"

"PIDGEOOOOOT!" it cried, not listening to Kathy's rebuttal. It looked like it was ready to strike at any moments notice should Kathy gave a glimpse of moving.

As Katharina put away her pokedex, she knew that she couldn't outrun it, so she had no choice. "I guess we'll have to battle. Come, Lileep! Come, Anorith!" Katharina threw her two pokeballs in the air, as the energy released from them turned into her Lileep, and her Anorith.

"Sorry, I must ask for your assistance," Katharina said to her two pokemon. "We must fend off this wild pokemon the best we can."

"Anorith!"
"Leeep!"

"PIIIIIIGOOOOOT!" the wild pokemon cried, as it was through playing around; it swooped down, ready for an attack. It retracted its wings to its sides, as it seemed like it was sky diving as it swooped down; it looked like a quick attack.

"Anorith, jump ahead and use Metal Claw!" Kathy ordered, trying to put pressure on the wild pokemon, before more of a fatal hit.

"Anorith!" it obeyed, as it's claws became a glowed metallic silver color, as it jumped, and prepared to counter strike with its metal claw attack. However, Pidgeot was tougher than it looked -- as soon as the two attacks collided, there was a pause: a test of strength, until Pidgeot finally got the upper hand in strength, and managed to knock Anorith away, straight on the ground. Anorith struggled as it got up; it was still injured from the battle against Shun's Ellgym.

The Pidgeot made a U-turn as it was prepared for another attack: it opened and spread its wings as they both glowed, signaling that it was prepared for a Wing Attack.

"Lileep, scare it off with an Acid attack!" Katharina said, prepared for a response for the assault.

"Leeeep!" Lileep responded, as it quickly shot a spray of acid from the core of its body. The acid made Pidgeot weary, and it made it back off from performing its Wing Attack.

"Now, use Constrict to Bind it!" Kathy then said, as her Lileep used its retractable, durable tentacles to wrap around the Pidgeot's wings. Pidgeot was stuck; it could use its wings to fly around and power out for now.

"Now, post haste! Use Confuse Ray!" Kathy then ordered, as Lileep, as instructed, glowed his two oval, black eyes and carefully, yet quickly released a ray that causes confusion. It was at close range, which managed to quickly confuse the wild Pidgeot. Lileep released its Constrict grip, in which the released Pidgeot was so confused that it ran into tree trunks, trying to fly away. However, that only slowed it down for a few seconds. Soon, it was able to recover, and quickly retaliated by a fierce quick attack which knocked Lileep off balance, and into the ground.

"Ergh, my pokemon is outclassed..." Katharina thought, seeing how they odds are greatly stacked against her as her two pokemon couldn't do much to the wild Pidgeot. Her pokemon slowly went back up, trying to stand their ground.

"Leep..."
"Anor...ith!"

"My Pokemon..." Katharina pondered. "Is there...nothing I could do...?"

"Anorith!" Her Anorith cried, trying to push up her spirits. Kathy smiled discreetly, however, she knew that even Anorith and Lileep together couldn't beat the Pidgeot.

That wasn't until...Anorith's pincers glowed. Kathy thought that it was trying to perform Metal Claw at first, but...something was different. She then saw particles of light swarming around Anorith's pincers, as that light materialized into a rocky substance. Katharina's eyes gleamed as the rocky substance became more whole. That was when Kathy knew...Anorith learned a new attack.

"Ancient... Power...!" Kathy gleamed. "A-Ancientpower! EEEEEEEEEE! ITS ANCIENTPOWER! THE POWER IN WHICH THE IMMORTALS USED TO DEFEAT THEIR FOES AT THE BATTLE FOR THE KING'S CROWN!! OOOH, HOW I COVETED THOSE IMMORTALS SCIENCES!! HOW THEY USED THEIR SCIENCE TO DEFINE THE MEANING OF ROCKS, AND OTHER SALTY-TASTING MATERIAL!! FANTASTIC!! OUTSTANDING!! HOW THEY SAY...SMOOTH LIKE A BABY'S BOTTOM--"

"Anorith!!"

"AHHHH! RIGHT!! SORRY ANORITH!!" Kathy apologized, as she stopped giggling. Pidgeot decided to come in for another dive, as Kathy was now ready for a counter-attack. "Lileep, use Confuse Ray to slow it down!"

"Leeeeeeep!" he obeyed, as once again, he glowed his eyes and released a powerful, blinding ray, which may not have effected the Pdgeot, however, Pidgeot slowed down on its speed to try and shield itself from the confusing ray. It was Kathy's chance.

"Its time for your new attack, Anorith!" Kathy gleamed., excitingly. "Uuuuuuuuse AncientPower!"

"Annnnnnnnorith!" she replied, as she concentrated the particles of light, and formed them into a more focused, concentrated point, in which the materialized rock-substance was then released by Anorith, straight towards the Pidgeot, hitting it on the middle of its body. Pidgeot cried in pain as there was then a miniature "bang" from the impact, and as it was flown back towards a nearby tree, hitting against it. Soon after thought, Pidgeot managed to get up, however, it had no more desire to keep attacking. It quickly flew away, giving up, leaving Kathy and her two pokemon behind.

Kathy then sighed from relief as she got out a piece of cloth from her hand bag, and wiped it on her forehead. "Anorith...Lileep..." She then said. "You two are truley...wonderful!"

"Anorith!"
"Leeeeep!"

That was when Kathy saw something through the wood, from a distance: a city building. It was the first city she was planning to visit in her journey: Viridian City. Kathy smiled that finally, she had arrived, and, she was equally excited to check out the finest of technology, and architect that Viridian City had to offer. She returned her injured pokemon back into their pokeballs, as she started walking once more. Viridan City was only a few minutes ahead of her.

• Will waited for his pokemon to be healed with Stephany. Then he remembered something.
"Oh, Stephany! I never answered your question...I think training together would be cool..." Will said.
Will thought about the ground leader Kimuro.
"If he is ground type...then Marina would be a good type matchup." He thought, "But i have to train her alot before she can take on Kimuro."
Nurse joy came back with Wills pokemon and handed them over to Will. Pawniard hadnt seen Marina in awhile.
"Come on out Marina!" Will called out as Marina got out of her pokeball.

• "Oh, Stephany! I never answered your question...I think training together would be cool..." Will said. Stephany smiled at his response, glad to be teaming up with somebody she was now friends with.

"Great!" she let out, suddenly covering her mouth. She accidentally became too excited.

"If he is ground type...then Marina would be a good type matchup." He thought, "But I have to train her alot before she can take on Kimuro." Stephany nodded, thinking about her Pawniard. Gothorita was fine, yet Pawniard's weakness was ground too. That wasn't good at all. Biting her lip, the nurse came back with Wills pokemon and handed them over to Will. Her's came back later on.

"Come on out Marina!" Will called out as Marina got out of her pokeball. What shone out of the dazzling red light soon turned into the female buizel, who stood there in front of Will. She did the same, sending out Pawniard, Hoothoot, and Gothorita.

"Come out guys," she mumbled while doing so, Gothorita the first to materialize. She grew nervous and dashed behind Stephany, sneaking into her white string bag. Hoothoot was second, turning his head in such a strange way. Later he hops over to Stephany's head, the teen girl glad to have Hoothoot now on her side. Pawniard was the last to materialize. Opening his eyes, he grew nervous when he first looked at Mariana. Not expecting this, he turned to glance at Stephany, then the buizel. Gulping, he stretched and then started a small chat with the buizel.

"So....what do you want to do now?" Stephany asked him, also not knowing what to do. There was a lot, but she couldn't think of any at the moment. Training was good, but could Will offer? Gym was too early, and the school they passed by could cause a problem with people around her pokemon.

"Huh, well . . . not too bad," I mumbled after witnessing the battle between Kathy's Lileep, Anorith and a wild Pidgeot. "Gaia could have easily taken it, though."

I turned away from the scene and began to head towards Viridian City once more. We were already rather close to the city, so the walk was fairly short and uneventful. That is, until a wild Raticate leaped out onto the path in front of us. That was . . . unexpected. I didn't really mind though. We attempted to walk around it, but the Raticate simply barred its fangs and growled at us.

"Oh, the hard way, is it? Fine then." I took a few steps back from the Raticate, tossing a red and white Pokeball into the air as I did so. I pressed a button on my headphones that caused Break by Three Days Grace to begin playing, just as Gaia, my behemoth of a Gigalith, appeared. "Gaia, let's eradicate this vermin." I nearly said Raticate instead of vermin, but then I realized that I would have been rhyming. I didn't feel like rhyming.

"Start off with Sand-Attack," I commanded. Gaia dug his foot into the ground, kicking a large mass of sand to fly up and break in the Raticate's face, temporarily blinding it. "Now follow up with Power Gem." A small light appeared in front of Gaia, and it began to grow and glow more brightly until Gaia finally launched it directly at the Raticate, causing the rat Pokemon to stumble back a few feet.

"RATIRT!!!" The Raticate hissed as it shook its head and got back to its feet. It leaped at Gaia as it's fangs illongated with a white glow, and I guessed that it was using Hyper Fang.

"Iron Defense," I told Gaia as I pulled out my Pokedex. I held it up to the Raticate and scanned for its moves, revealing that it knew Tail Whip, Swords Dance, Focus Energy, Quick Attack, Tackle, Bite, Pursuit, Hyper Fang, Sucker Punch and Scary Face. A rather diverse moveset, I supposed, for a wild Pokemon. I looked back up just as the Raticate bit down on Gaia, hardly doing any damage.

"Okay, Rock Blast." Gaia summoned a barrage of rocks that he launched one after another at the Raticate, hitting it multiple times and forcing it back about thirteen feet. "Power Gem, once more."

Before Gaia could do anything, however, the Raticate recovered and feinted Gaia, using Sucker Punch. Gaia wasn't really damaged by the attack, but it was enough to break his concentration.

I was holding one hand to my headphones, still listening to music and not paying very much attention to the Raticate, and with my other hand I replaced the Pokedex into my pocket. "Headbutt and then Rock Slide." Gaia reared his head and slammed it into the Raticate, sending it flying with a shriek of pain. A moment later, Gaia had summoned a barrage of rocks that rained down from the sky above the Raticate, burying it.

"I think we'll leave now, thanks." I recalled Gaia and walked towards Viridian City once more. Thanks to my headphones, I didn't notice the rustling in the bushes near me, nor did I notice the face of a Pokemon watching my every move. All I noticed were the people as I entered the city, whom I ignored anyways.

A while later I was walking out of the Pokemart, having stocked up on supplies for the long walk through Viridian Forest ahead of me. I made sure to get a plethora of Potions, Antidotes, and some Pokeballs. After that, I headed to the Pokemon Center to get my Pokemon healed. I ignored everyone around, but I did see a few familiar faces as I entered the Pokemon Center. I had passed Beeno . . . er, Keeno, and I didn't even think twice as to why he was here. I didn't really care, after all.

• Its time for Kathy's theme!

Having arrived at Viridian City, a few minutes later after the Pidgeot attack, Kathy was fascinated at the soil on the ground where she stood. it seemed rich as the soil in Route One. Very cool. But, there was no time for subtlety; it was time to look for the Pokemon Center. Fortunately for her, she found the nearest Pokemon Center: the building with a red roof. She took interest to the automatic doors inside: A quirk made by the goodness of electricity! She thought as she went inside.

At the pokemon center, she saw it all: escalators leading to the bottom floor, a computer system on where people could trade their pokemon, even worldwide, and finally, the main pokemon center desk, where they healed their pokemon right in the blink of one's eye. Kathy was ecstatic.

"AHHH ELECTRICITY...EEEEE--HOW I LOVE YOU SO!!" Kathy squealed. "ELECTRICAL PHENOMENA HAS BEEN STUDIED SINCE ANTIQUITY! THOUGH ADVANCES IN THE SCIENCE WERE NOT MADE UNTIL THE EIGHTEENTH AND NINETEENTH CENTURIES!! AND TO THINK -- IT HAS GROWN THIS. MUCH! THE COLORFUL LIGHTS...THE SOOTHING SOUNDS...OOOH, IT SOUNDS LIKE A ROBOT DANCING WITH HIS SISTER, YET HIS PARENTS DON'T APPROVE SO THEY DECIDED TO SET HIM UP WITH HIS 12 YEAR OLD COUSIN...!!"

I flinched and I bet my skin paled at the sound of the creature that had just entered the Pokemon Center.

I could only hope that this monstrosity had not yet seen me. If I was lucky I could sneak out of the Pokemon Center, flee Viridian City, board a plane to Unova and live out the rest of my life in the cold, dark dampness of Mistralton Cave. Anything to get away from this!

"Roswell, RUN!!" I whispered to the alien Pokemon. I hurried to the door, trying to avoid Kathy as best as I could. I turned to see Roswell approaching her, and I almost ran back for him, but a little voice inside my head screamed: RUN MAN! IT'S TOO LATE FOR HIM, SAVE YOURSELF!!

I did the stupidest thing that I could ever do, something that I would likely come to regret for the rest of my life. That is, if I didn't commit suicide within the next few moments.

I walked up to Roswell, and by extenstion, Kathy.

• Its time for the Kathy and Shun meeting theme!

Still observing machines, and leveling up her eccentrically, Kathy then noticed something that she had seen before. It was an Elgyem. An elgyem that looked happy to see her. Kathy did recognize the alien pokemon...

"W-what?!" Kathy then said, as she soon faced another familiar face: it was Shun, the boy she battled with at Pallet Town. He seemed to be chasing after his own pokemon. Kathy though, crossed her arms.

"Herr Shun... HOW DARE YOU INTERRUPT THE MARVEL OF OBSERVATION!" Kathy snapped. "WHILE THE CONCEPT OF SCIENCE CAN NOT BE PROVEN BY A SOLE MAN, IT CAN BE EXPLORED! I AM BUSY STUDYING THE MANY, MANY, PROMISES IT HOLDS! YOU, HOWEVER, ARE STILL FLOATING IN YOUR OWN LITTLE...um...how they say...DIVA ROCKET! Well, guess what. THAT ROCKET CAN NOT RIDE WITHOUT INSUFFICIENT FUEL CELLS! YOU WANT TO TALK ABOUT REALITY? LET US TALK ABOUT REALITY! Ah...but I'm getting to far ahead of myself."

Kathy then turned her back at Shun, to address Nurse Joy. "Fräulein Joy, would you be as kind as to treat my two pokemon? They have sustained serious damage, I fear."

"Yes, of...uh...course!" Nursy Joy replied...listening to Kathy's rambling. "Just leave them to me."

"I thank you," Kathy smiled, as she took out Lileep's and Anorith's pokeballs, and place them in front of the desk, for Nurse Joy to take them. Kathy then turned back towards Shun. "Now Herr Shun, what do you have to say for yourself?!"
