A strange sound of flapping wings was the next thing Katharina noticed. Perhaps it was the sound of the baby Pidgey resting up from the nest. However, when Katharina looked, the pokemon was way bigger than any pidgey. It was a wild Pidgeot...ready for a brawl.
"PIDGEOT, OT!" It cried loudly, as it started to take flight. Katharina shielded herself from the gusts that Pidgeot made when it flapped its powerful wings. Then, it swooped down, then pulled it self back up, giving Katharina a warning that it was going to strike, should it swoop down once again.
"I must of invaded its habitat..." Katharina said, as she pulled out her pokedex. Indeed, the wild pokemon she is facing is known as a Pidgeot, which if it flap its wings with all its might, then it is able to bend durable trees. "Wait Pidgeot! There must of been some mistake--"
"PIDGEOOOOOT!" it cried, not listening to Kathy's rebuttal. It looked like it was ready to strike at any moments notice should Kathy gave a glimpse of moving.
As Katharina put away her pokedex, she knew that she couldn't outrun it, so she had no choice. "I guess we'll have to battle. Come, Lileep! Come, Anorith!" Katharina threw her two pokeballs in the air, as the energy released from them turned into her Lileep, and her Anorith.
"Sorry, I must ask for your assistance," Katharina said to her two pokemon. "We must fend off this wild pokemon the best we can."
"Anorith!"
"Leeep!"
"PIIIIIIGOOOOOT!" the wild pokemon cried, as it was through playing around; it swooped down, ready for an attack. It retracted its wings to its sides, as it seemed like it was sky diving as it swooped down; it looked like a quick attack.
"Anorith, jump ahead and use Metal Claw!" Kathy ordered, trying to put pressure on the wild pokemon, before more of a fatal hit.
"Anorith!" it obeyed, as it's claws became a glowed metallic silver color, as it jumped, and prepared to counter strike with its metal claw attack. However, Pidgeot was tougher than it looked -- as soon as the two attacks collided, there was a pause: a test of strength, until Pidgeot finally got the upper hand in strength, and managed to knock Anorith away, straight on the ground. Anorith struggled as it got up; it was still injured from the battle against Shun's Ellgym.
The Pidgeot made a U-turn as it was prepared for another attack: it opened and spread its wings as they both glowed, signaling that it was prepared for a Wing Attack.
"Lileep, scare it off with an Acid attack!" Katharina said, prepared for a response for the assault.
"Leeeep!" Lileep responded, as it quickly shot a spray of acid from the core of its body. The acid made Pidgeot weary, and it made it back off from performing its Wing Attack.
"Now, use Constrict to Bind it!" Kathy then said, as her Lileep used its retractable, durable tentacles to wrap around the Pidgeot's wings. Pidgeot was stuck; it could use its wings to fly around and power out for now.
"Now, post haste! Use Confuse Ray!" Kathy then ordered, as Lileep, as instructed, glowed his two oval, black eyes and carefully, yet quickly released a ray that causes confusion. It was at close range, which managed to quickly confuse the wild Pidgeot. Lileep released its Constrict grip, in which the released Pidgeot was so confused that it ran into tree trunks, trying to fly away. However, that only slowed it down for a few seconds. Soon, it was able to recover, and quickly retaliated by a fierce quick attack which knocked Lileep off balance, and into the ground.
"Ergh, my pokemon is outclassed..." Katharina thought, seeing how they odds are greatly stacked against her as her two pokemon couldn't do much to the wild Pidgeot. Her pokemon slowly went back up, trying to stand their ground.
"Leep..."
"Anor...ith!"
"My Pokemon..." Katharina pondered. "Is there...nothing I could do...?"
"Anorith!" Her Anorith cried, trying to push up her spirits. Kathy smiled discreetly, however, she knew that even Anorith and Lileep together couldn't beat the Pidgeot.
That wasn't until...Anorith's pincers glowed. Kathy thought that it was trying to perform Metal Claw at first, but...something was different. She then saw particles of light swarming around Anorith's pincers, as that light materialized into a rocky substance. Katharina's eyes gleamed as the rocky substance became more whole. That was when Kathy knew...Anorith learned a new attack.
"Ancient... Power...!" Kathy gleamed. "A-Ancientpower! EEEEEEEEEE! ITS ANCIENTPOWER! THE POWER IN WHICH THE IMMORTALS USED TO DEFEAT THEIR FOES AT THE BATTLE FOR THE KING'S CROWN!! OOOH, HOW I COVETED THOSE IMMORTALS SCIENCES!! HOW THEY USED THEIR SCIENCE TO DEFINE THE MEANING OF ROCKS, AND OTHER SALTY-TASTING MATERIAL!! FANTASTIC!! OUTSTANDING!! HOW THEY SAY...SMOOTH LIKE A BABY'S BOTTOM--"
"Anorith!!"
"AHHHH! RIGHT!! SORRY ANORITH!!" Kathy apologized, as she stopped giggling. Pidgeot decided to come in for another dive, as Kathy was now ready for a counter-attack. "Lileep, use Confuse Ray to slow it down!"
"Leeeeeeep!" he obeyed, as once again, he glowed his eyes and released a powerful, blinding ray, which may not have effected the Pdgeot, however, Pidgeot slowed down on its speed to try and shield itself from the confusing ray. It was Kathy's chance.
"Its time for your new attack, Anorith!" Kathy gleamed., excitingly. "Uuuuuuuuse AncientPower!"
"Annnnnnnnorith!" she replied, as she concentrated the particles of light, and formed them into a more focused, concentrated point, in which the materialized rock-substance was then released by Anorith, straight towards the Pidgeot, hitting it on the middle of its body. Pidgeot cried in pain as there was then a miniature "bang" from the impact, and as it was flown back towards a nearby tree, hitting against it. Soon after thought, Pidgeot managed to get up, however, it had no more desire to keep attacking. It quickly flew away, giving up, leaving Kathy and her two pokemon behind.
Kathy then sighed from relief as she got out a piece of cloth from her hand bag, and wiped it on her forehead. "Anorith...Lileep..." She then said. "You two are truley...wonderful!"
"Anorith!"
"Leeeeep!"
That was when Kathy saw something through the wood, from a distance: a city building. It was the first city she was planning to visit in her journey: Viridian City. Kathy smiled that finally, she had arrived, and, she was equally excited to check out the finest of technology, and architect that Viridian City had to offer. She returned her injured pokemon back into their pokeballs, as she started walking once more. Viridan City was only a few minutes ahead of her.
