I don't expect more than a single new Pokémon reveal in this Nintendo Direct. It's embarrassing how minimally GameFreak capitalized on the massive marketing opportunity that was the World Championship preceding the Sun and Moon release when we were all expecting something big out of it. Before X and Y the Mega Kangaskhan reveal happened at Worlds. What a bummer.

X/Y: 1 mega revealed.
S/M: 1 actual pokemon revealed.

Now I like megas, but I think new pokemon are cooler.
 
Is there anything that hasn't been officially revealed yet that is out there in the open that can be revealed in this Nintendo Direct?
 
I only guess there will be at least a mini reveal for S/M during that Direct. I'm excited for news!
 
Well considering it's a 3DS related direct, and the biggest hitter for the 3DS for the next year is SM we'll probably get a good amount of news.
 
Well I heard that this was a 3DS orientated direct. So I find it hard to imagine Pokemon Sun and Moon not having a notable presence.
 
Instead of SM, they're just gonna show that Detective Pikachu game.

Honestly though I do think they'll show something... But I wouldn't get my hopes up over that something being big since SM can and has been getting a lot of reveal videos all to themselves.

If we get big news, awesome. If we get small news, that's fine, let's just enjoy the other game information within the Direct.

Actually yeah lol

Remember that one Direct last year before SM's announcement that Bill Trinen was like, "Here's info on a new Pokémon game. But it's not what you're expecting," and then it was like, Pokémon Picross or something like that? Nintendo knows, man. They know they can reel us in like this. They have a sense of humor and they put it to good use.

Corrected you there, but anyways I am expecting some new Pokemon and maybe more info about what you said because we know nothing about the secret and it would be interesting to find out what it is, especially with so many conflicting rumors floating around.

CoroCoro I think will still do the big info dump as well.
 
I am surprised I have seen nothing from serebii about the Direct. I only just found out about it from a PokeTuber on twitter.

I assume this might be why we haven't gotten a news announcement. Pokemon will probably be in the direct with a few new things. Still hoping they gives us a town name so we can get an idea of what the towns are named after.

Right now fruits seems to be the most 'leaked' which I would love if they were named after fruits.

Nope not at the time of this post at least. Usually they report on Directs even if it isn't known that it is pokemon related.

As others said, I can't see them having a 3DS centered Direct and not have something pokemon related in it. To be honest, I can't really see them having a Direct over anything else at this point in time other than maybe the new Zelda game.
 
Joe has talked about it on his separate Twitter account and does seem to think there's a slight chance of SM stuff showing up. But for the reasons already stated in this thread, he's not going to post about it on his site unless something does come up. Which is understandable, because we don't know for sure right now.

I do find it odd though about that French Nintendo tweet that's hinting at a starter evolution reveal sometime soon, and this was only a few days ago.
 
I'm like 99.9% sure they will cover S/M to a certain extent. These directs usually cover either new info on already revealed games or new games for the upcoming season. Either way, I do think we will get Sun & Moon coverage even if they don't show much new info. Those games are going to be the handhelds highest sellers of the year by a mile.
 
Yes only a day away... as Blue said, Sun & Moon are definitely going to be a 3DS bestseller at this rate, especially with all the "is the NX the successor to the 3DS" speculation floating around. I do feel we'll get a good chunk of Sun & Moon coverage since this Direct focuses on the 3DS, my guess will be a new Pokemon or new Alola Form.

If I also recall during XY pre-release, we had a Direct in September (a month before XY's release) that revealed the Kanto starters' Mega Evolutions. That's why I'm thinking new Pokemon or Alola Form.
 
I'm also guessing there will be a Pokémon/Alola Form reveal. I'm not expecting tons of new information, even though that's what I wanted. I'm getting excited. Especially because we're going to have something to discuss!
 
I'm kinda surprised that people "aren't expecting a ton of information". I mean Pokemon Sun and Moon is by far their biggest 3DS release coming in the next few months. Assuming this direct is only going to cover the rest of the year. I mean what else do they really have to talk about that's going to make an impact?

It's also the 1st of the month, and so far the trailers we've received on those dates have been pretty generous.

Personally I'm expecting:

* Pokemon Sun and Moon trailer
* Ace Attorney: Spirit of Justice trailer (and a note that the demo is out)
* Metroid Prime Federation Force trailer (I think it's already out but they'll probably plug it anyway)
* Wasn't there an RPG they revealed at E3? They might talk about it again...maybe?
* The new Galaxy 3DS will be shown off.
* Probably something related to Amiibo
 
Well, we've got just under 24 hours until we find out and hopefully get some more S/M news! On an unrelated note I'd like to see them reveal GSC for the eShop.
