Question: Game Development Forum

    Hey guys,

I noticed the game development forum and I must say, it has drawn me into playing some of them and even bringing my game to the forums.

Though I do want to ask 2 questions before doing so

    • Is it a Pokemon-Game Dev only forum?
    • Are 16+ games forbidden? (I typically put the age rating in the topic title)

I just want to make sure I don't break any rules.

    Thanks all!
    Tetiro

I suggest you PM Maruno, the moderator of the Game Development section with your query, since he's probably the best person to answer your questions.

All of our Moderators are frequently on and available to ask all and any questions you may have about the boards they look after. If you don't which moderator is in charge of which board, you can go to here and see. Or, if you are still unsure, you are welcome to ask myself or any of the other Higher members of staff. :)

Well that's one question sorted :)

Still need to know about the age rating one. I can't exactly bring a dark-RPG if there's a kid-friendly limitation on the forum

Unless all the kids are from my town and have been playing games rated probably double their age (Seriously who gives a 10 year old Assassin's Creed 3?!)

I'll save you the trouble and answer your questions here.

Game Dev is for any kind of game you make yourself. It's not restricted to Pokémon-only games, although obviously this is a Pokémon forum so the majority of games in there are bound to be Pokémon ones. It's also for anything to do with the process of developing a game, e.g. discussion on level design and all that, so you don't have to be making a game yourself in order to be a part of the section.

As long as the age rating is clearly visible, I'm sure it'd be fine to have mature games in there. The only exception would be if it's a gag game packed with gratuitous swearing and sexual content, made only for the lulz. I think we'd be better off without that kind of game.

I look forward to seeing your game thread. Remember to pack lots of details into it! The rules for that section have a guide on how to structure a game thread if you're unsure what to say.

I can assure you I don't go down the sexy-drugs-non-stop-swearing path. If I do a mature game, it is down tastefully. And all mature themes are done as respectfully as I can address them.

    Expect a topic soon! :D

EDIT: What are the rules for the Game Dev section btw? :)
