I don't know if many of you guys play PU, but Smogon has decided to ban Garbodor from this tier. With its access to Spikes, Toxic Spikes and a very powerful Gunk Shot, Garbodor has proved itself to be too good for PU.

Mega Glalie has been banned due to its absurdly powerful Double-Edge and Explosion, as well as access to Spikes and Taunt.

oh wait mega glalie is banned from NU as well

Mega Glalie I figured would get the boot from NU at some point. Refrigerate is just Pixilate or Aerialate of a different type, and we all know that those abilities did wonders for the Pokemon that got them.

But Garbodor is really too much for PU?Also slightly ironic that a garbage Pokemon had to leave a tier called PU

I played pu a while, garb was p good, didn't expect the ban lol

Mega Glalie banned from both PU and NU? Damn.

Guess it shows how OP it becomes in those low tiers with its ability. Nothing can really take a hit from its Refrigerated Double-Edge, Return or Explosion very well unless if they resisted Ice, and even if it did it would still leave a dent.

As for Garbodor, it does have some interesting tricks like the aforementioned hazards and also having a strong Gunk Shot. The ban was the last thing I was expecting to be honest.

Guess this will shut up all the "Garbodor is trash" jerks :P

But Mega Glalie is one to expect here, as mentioned it has Refrigerate which would let it do massive damage with moves like Explosion and Double-Edge, and it has other utility moves backing that up.

actually i've heard that garbodor was even more ridiculous than m-glalie (in PU), because gunk shot + rocky helmet + aftermath often meant it could take down 2 pokemon, and could find many opportunities to set up due to its typing. on top of that, gunk shot + thunderbolt could handle all the defoggers there, and with pu's lack of rapid spinners (avalugg?), this thing was really hard to stop.

Honestly I don't play PU at all, but it seems to me that garbodor must've been a real threat. I've been playing OU with a little bit of UU, and I wanna start getting into RU and NU, so hopefully I don't run into too many mega glalies. I wonder how garbodor will do in NU. In fact, I might try it seeing as how it was really good in PU according to some people.

Well, buffing accuracy to a high-power move... that could definitely explain everything.

I'd say that even with a 70% accuracy move Garbodor could be too much for PU, considering its main role was to set up hazards, not to break holes in everything. However, you could very well be right. Life Orb Gunk Shot allows Garbodor to break down its counters (on paper at least) and it really appreciates the extra acc boost. Idk if LO Garbodor was good though, since Rocky Helmet was the best item on it and a spikes user really hates taking 10% damage per turn.
