Hmmm...I also had an idea for contest which would be a series of puzzles, codes, riddles and brain benders generally. Would that sort of thing work/go down well? If it would i have ideas for enough puzzles to get started working on it...but might do it as a collab with somebody, if that's allowed

What about a Rom Hacking and Game Development Map-off?
Try and make the best map, considering three factors (Playability, Beauty and Size), which you'll be rated out of ten?

Tried that last year, didn't work out.

Can I ask why it didn't work? There were more than enough entries, that's for sure. It seems to me that the problem lies more with the judges, who never posted the results (I'm looking at you Harry >:| ).

That would be pretty awesome. I'd like to help with you if you'd like.

Can I second this idea?

Or, heck, even a scavenger-hunt-like thing, a la an alternate reality game with puzzles for people to solve every X hour? (And answers to said puzzles leading to other puzzles that eventually get to a dummy account that people would have to PM to complete the game, with the first people to PM being the ones with the top scores? Or is that too complicated? I mean, I wouldn't be surprised if it is -- especially with time constraints and all -- but it'd be kinda fun and potentially doable with multiple people involved in setting it up.)

I would third this, because it sounds like a really fun idea, a good way to get everyone involved.

That's the kind of thing I was thinking, only more awesome :D Like I say, all I've got right now are a few basic puzzles, but I'm hoping to build it up into a big, epic thingy.

That would be really fun C: I third this idea. It does seem a little complicated to get going, however. If it does happen, I'll be there.

A draw off of the generation 5 Pokemon released so far? Like each user has to face another with a selected Pokemon, they draw that, winner advances to next round and eventually in the final round (well obv judged by the artists of PC, or the hosts, depends) the winner is chosen.

"How about... A draw off! Of the new pokemon" - that much of the idea is credit to Siggy, the rest I figured out. XD

I highly second this. <3
This seems like it'd be really fun too. :D

EDIT: Massive Skype convo for the win.

Skype convo would be aweeeeeeeesome. I would actually have a reason for using Skype other than crank calls.

I'ma be soo busy in those three days.

I remember last time my internet bandwidth ran out and stuff so it was hard to do the Get2gether.
Though I loved doing the Trivia. Everyone kept pressing F5 on the page just so they could answer the question first. Although you do need a few people to host it especially since I live in a different timezone to a lot of people, and it's ongoing for the whole 3 days... ahh good times...

Are we gonna need a Staff Member for each event like last time?

How about a slogan naming contest?

I think a staff member for most events would still be needed, to calm any fires that may start up. Because, I bet that there will be some.

There are some events, I think that won't need them. (I.E. The Skype convo, should it ever happen.)

There's already a Brawl event going on right now, though. But hey, I see no reason there can't be another for the get together.

That would be absolutely fantabulously amazing. Can I fifth this? :o

Complicating things make them more awesome, btw.

umm, maybe draw from the project alpha boards and do a collective speedrun of one pokemon game. who is champion first wins. or red if its hg/ss

also, knowing my experience, the skype thingy will be flooded/spammed or conversations being posted so fast you cant reply before like 10 people reply at the same time, stuff like that, itll be chaos. but then again, i dont know much about skype.

Ever heard of an Action Replay? Events need to be something that can be more closely monitored.

Also, for skype, I was moreso assuming that people meant using your mics.

paragraph 1. Ohhhhhh, I would so be in this.

paragraph 2. What I would do is assign a few people as "hosts" who sort of watch over the room and change their status to what the current conversations are about. That way, people can see if they would want to talk about something that is already in discussion.

My stuff: What about a relay team challenge on emulators (with no hacks obviously)? You get on a team with like 4 other people, and each person goes through 2 gyms (the fifth beats the elite four). Each leg would have a specified starting time, and so people could sign up when they know they wouldn't be busy.
