[GT Challenge] • Baton Pass 2.0

10th Segment
My own Fire Red save

Aight chose battling Giovanni over the punks called Elite 4 or the 10 second rival turned champion Blue. Did a few thing in this segment. Never knew earlier that you can choose to first visit Pokemon Centre after gym battle with Blaine instead of simply going with Bill immediately:p cleared the first 3 Sevii Islands, and the routes between Cinnabar, Seafoam and Fuschia. Defeated Giovanni and gotta say- he is so cool, I am glad I chose him for my segment! Like he went out like a G and accepted his defeat while deciding to go back to training, instead of yapping like that karen from Johto :v yah enjoyed this segment basically, and also gave two of my birb friends a visit ;) was gonna visit the third friend too but forgot and fought Giovanni before that :( A lotta screenshots so ain't gonna say anything else!

Save Swap Challenge - Magma Grunt Soleil
Pokemon X - Badge 5
Segment 4 (Route 13 -> Lumiose Gym)

I made my way through the segment up to Clemont, also going back and getting the stuff that my predecessor didn't get around to, like usual. There is no need to explore anything outside Mountain Kalos except to go back and catch stuff, if necessary. I also achieved my second and final Sunny Day gym battle and scored the last of my optional points; further games should go to people who have optional objectives left to fulfill, if possible.

Note: Houndoom was not in my party at the time of the gym battle because I was training a Gallade, (Mob Jr., the son of Mob and Crystal) to take her place. Houndoom's stats are listed below instead, however, because I used her in battle this segment and Gallade isn't strong enough to fight yet.

And another badge down. Fairy type this time! The segment started and I had plenty of psychic or ghost type in my team already - nothing needed to be changed! In fact there are only 2 non-psychic or ghost types present! So skipping my typical journey to the PC I could head straight for the gym after listening to a crazy man in a pub yelling about how he's descended from the king and everyone's ugly or something like that.
I wasn't sure if I could get the task completion done this time but I was able to, the hero of my tasks Durandal swooping into a Swift from Valerie's Sylveon gives me my final task points of the event! It was a fun little challenge to go alongside my others.

Segment: 1/13 Nuvema Town --> Striaton City

Started out this new adventure with Snek the Snivy as my partner. As I made the trek to Striaton City, I caught Princess the Lillipup, KraziRat the Patrat, and MeowMeow the Purrloin. With these four by my side, I easily crushed Chili (ignore the fact it took me four tries and I had to spam potions on the final attempt). wolf and I have traded saves, and I wish him luck on his journey to the next gym.

Segment 8
My OR Save

Time for the Elite Four babyyy! Sidney, Phoebe and Glacia were no problem with (Mega) Blaziken and Absol on the squad. Drake was more challenging but I prepped for his Kingdra yawn strats with chesto berries and made sure Pelipper has Blizzard for his Flygons. Steven did kinda wipe my team because Mega Metagross is an absolute beast but I won in the end (and the game is over now so it's okay that my pokemon can't be used by the next person lol).

I might have dun goofed, I submitted the form before I found someone, not realizing it auto updated the spreadsheet 😅 The person taking this save from me is Magma Nurse.

Anyways,

Immediately left Veilstone City, not thinking to check on and stock up my healing items at any point, oop. Spent some time grinding at the resort on my way to Pastoria, only to blow through all the gym trainers and most of Wake's battle with Pop Rocks the Luxio. Nothing else particularly eventful happened along the way.

Aroma Lady Tour update!
Segment 5/13
Restriction: Only 1 pokémon of each colour!

The land of Unova is quite a new one to me! However this mysterious wasn't going to stop me, my adventure began with exploring the celestial tower where I encountered a funky little alien guy, adding it to my team, I played alot with the different new TMs avaible, the fact that they were now of infinite usage really did help.

Going through a volcanic area afterwards, the amount of cool new pokémon there was super interesting! Be it camerupt, Skorupi or the ever fast Excadrill.
On my way to Opelucid City, I made a strange encounter, one of the Mysterious Pokémon Virizion!

As it challenged me to a fight, I couldn't help but notice how powerful it's move "Sacred Sword" truly was, however, with the help of Weezing, I managed to tame and catch it! While I won't use it in my team, it's still interesting to see such a beautiful creature...

It did surprise me just how far the next gym was, but thankfully, with enough perseverance and by forming a bond with my new team members, I had made it to the Dragon type gym!

Not exactly being too knowledgeable on said type, I went in with my team without really thinking all that much, however, after a well fought fight, the 7th badge of the Unova League was now ours!

Chapter 7 - What Goes Around, Comes Around!​

Gross segment ewwww......

First up, we go sort our Clair Beef in the Dragon Den, proving to her we are just infinitely cooler and better than her, before she strops off and we have to go find her AGAIN to get that Rising Badge.

Then it's a big slog up along and to Victory Road, taking my two E4 fighters through and getting some nice EXP for them. After blitzing through Victory Road, it was time for the E4. The E4 fell incredibly easily, being split 50/50 between Ampharos (Will/Koga) and Feraligatr (Bruno/Karen), before facing Lance himself.

Lance actually wasn't too bad, because I decided to teach Feraligatr Avalanche, so it hit the faster (and lower level??????????????) Dragonites hard. After a few tricky turns near the end, we finally defeat Lance and become the Champion!

Chapter 8 - Flying Free!​

This was quite a speedy segment this one. We had just under 60k to play with and... basically only Super Potions to buy so congrats everyone you have 80 Super Potions to work with!

I decided to beef up some of the team members to try and make things easier a little later, so took Electrike for a nice trip to Slateport via the sea to get some levels, before heading to New Mauville to clear it out. Then we beelined for Fortree City. Where... I forgot Winona's Altaria apparently has Earthquake?! After a lot of shuffling around, ROLL TIME managed to get some lucky Rollouts and beat it, along with the rest of her team, resulting in victory against Winona!

As a result, we obtain one (1) Feather Badge!

I hadn't played my own save since the first segment! It was funny seeing the few pokemon I'd picked up at the start and the other additions to the team throughout. There were some helpful ones for sure. The Elite 4 required a bit of grinding beforehand. My first attempt failed at the champion being swept by Metagross! I levelled up and took them on again this time with much more ease. The champion wasn't that difficult now that I wasn't over 10 levels below him for the most part.

Segment 6/13

[Task Completed]

After a bit of a break, it was time to head back to Sinnoh, with half of the badges within our hand, it was time to continue our colour coded quest!
Route 212 was quite the muddy route, as my clothes got drenched in gunk, atleast I could tell that some of my pokémon were having fun in it, so it was alright overall.

However, having remembered about a certain Team Galactic member, one that looked quite shady as a matter of fact, I went to see him, at which point they started running away!
The chase was a long one, I even got cut off by my Rival who was, in all fairness, rather simple to fight!

Having been given some medecine by Cynthia, I used them on the psyduck which, rather quickly infact, felt way better!, however, the route they were blocking was very hard to see...

Even if I had known them for a little bit of time, me and Golbat got close enough for it to evolve into a Crobat!

The battle with Fantina itself was rather simple, I first try to Make the ghosts vanish with the power of the sun!

11th Segment

Note: yes, this post is supposed to be before the above post from Jbsundown about their Hall of Fame. However, I had to leave immediately after completing my segment and only got a chance to write this just now, so this has been placed afterwards.

Went from Mossdeep to Seafloor cavern, got given a win by my rival Courtney, murdered the other magma members(cuz they weak lmao), went for Groudon and almost murdered Maxie before Steven came around. Then went to Sootopolis, entered cave of origin, masterball cuz I didn't wanna waste time and then straight gym battle

12th Segment
5qwerty's Emerald save

Cleared Mt.Pyre, helped Archie steal the orb. Stole Magma emblem, invaded Mt.Chimney base of those Magmas, murdered everyone there (LOLOL they didn't even have their ultra powerful Courtney), punked Maxie. Helped Archie steal a submarine in Slateport, friendly battle with fellow darling admin Matt and bid farewell to their submarine for underwater operations in our base near Lilycove. Reached Mossdeep, watched TV, infiltrated Space Centre to know Team Magma's next moves and then blitzed Tate and Liza.

Chapter 9 - History repeats itself!​

Oh no... how did we end up revisiting this segment again!!!

This save needed a bit of curating, so I set off back down to Ice Path to catch ourselves a Jynx and then spent quite a while beefing up our party's levels, before setting off along Victory Road, telling our rival TEAMMAG to DO ONE cause they're a loser.

Then it was Johto E4 time once more. This was actually a bit harder than SoulSilver, for some reason Will's Xatus hit REALLY hard? Koga kept switching and spamming Double Team? Karen's Houndoom was being a nightmare???? Lance was actually one of the easiest battles lol, as Jynx managed to mostly just OHKO anything he had, and Sudowoodo cleaned up!

Once that hardship was over, we're promoted to Champion of Johto once again!

Janp's Baton Pass Challenge - Segment 6



For my next segment, I got Devalue's Crystal save again. Again. With the very same team as the last time.

I quickly got rid of Team Rocket in Goldenrod City, leveling up Graveler and Vaporeon.

I got past the Icy Path and challenged Clair. I wanted to complete my Task again, so I started with Viplume and put Clair's Dragonair to sleep. I then switched to Sunkern to set up Sunny Day, followed by Vaporeon's Rain Dance. Vaporeon learnt Aurora Beam during this segment and it made the whole battle a breeze. Except for Kingdra. I kinda run out of healing and Kingdra easily took down hurt Vaporeon, Graveler and Sunkern. So I had to slowly beat it using Vileplume. Whose only usable damaging move is Absorb. So yeah, it was fun.
