[GT Challenge] • Baton Pass 2.0

Just a quick report for another segment completed - Byron in StarstruckFlora's Pearl save!

When I said quick, I really mean quick. All I did was level up Prinplup and Luxio on the various trainers in Route 218 to 221 and inside of Iron Island: Prinplup gained something like 20 levels and evolved into a mighty Empoleon, while Luxio evolved into Luxray and reached a respectable level 34. Riley's Lucario, who was my partner Pokémon throughout most of Iron Island, was continuously decimated by my Empoleon's only nice attacking move - Surf - so it's no wonder that the same happened to Byron's three Steel-types. Badge acquired ♥

Save shared on discord as usual! And now, I have only 4 segments left to play...

Segment 5
This segment went pretty well. I had to grind a little vs. Audino because there's a level jump at Lenora's gym. I finally completed half of my task, thanks to Lillipup learning Take Down early. My strategy vs. Lenora was to spam Work Up 3 times to fulfill my restriction then use Take Down while Herdier is at low health.

Segment 7/13
Restriction: Only 1 pokémon of each colour!

After quite a bit of adventures, it was time to take on my first Elite 4, this one being the Johto one!

Not too too much to say, after having created a team of 6 pokémon, I went on my merry way towards kanto as we defeated all the trainers along the way, our rival tried to halt our progress within victory road, but thanks to our Miltank, things went more than wonderfully!

Bruno did give us a bit of issue, but after using leveling up Raichu enough to outspeed Hitmonlee, a well place Paralysis made our job a whole lot easier!

Our final Team was:
Miltank (Pink)
Delibird (Red)
Raichu (Yellow)
Graveler (Brown)
Rhydon (Grey)
and Tentacruel (Blue)

Segment 8/13
Restriction: Only 1 pokémon of each colour!

Falling in love with the Unova region, I decided to come back to it... even if... things felt a bit different... oh well, must be nothing!

My adventure started with a confrontation against Team Plasma! those weirdos are really starting to freak me out, however, while getting back the Museum's dragon skull, I managed to meet up with quite a cut pokémon, calling it Lucie, it was time to head over to Castelia City.
Capture d'écran 2024-07-25 170805.png
Funnily enough, Castelia City was also the location of the next Gym! I did have to fight Team Plasma once again, but these guys were just spouting nonsense, at least my friend Bianca got one of her Pokémon back.

Capture d'écran 2024-07-25 172027.png The battle against the Gym Leader Burgh himself was quite an easy one! especially thanks to Roggenrola's powerful Rock type moves, as a reward, by the end of the battle, it even got to evolve!
Capture d'écran 2024-07-25 172038.pngCapture d'écran 2024-07-25 172110.png
And so, my adventures within Unova was over once again, hope to see this region again soon!

Segment 9/13
Restriction: Only 1 pokémon of each colour!

Had a bit of Deja vue as I went through a previous iteration of the Hoenn region today! nothing of real note happened, except that I met a really cute looking crawfish that helped me with getting the 6th badge of the Hoenn League!

Team: Magma
Class: Gambler
Restriction: During any Boss Battle, you must use the same move three times with a Pokémon before being able to select another one.
Save: StarstruckFlora's pearl save
Segment: 7/13 Canalave --> Snowpoint

After running around the lakes for story progression purposes, I made my way to snow point city. After talking with some team mates, I determined the best course of action was to train up the ponyta thathad previously been boxed until it got Flare Blitz and Takedown to ensure I had the best chances possible to complete my task of taking out a boss battle pokemon with a move with recoil that took out my own pokemin at the same time. After a lot of grinding (had to grind from level 13 all the way to level 48 while stopping ponyta from evolving levels 40-47). Once I was good and ready, I challanged Candice. My first attempt was a bit of a mess, as a result I failed to complete my task. Since my pokemon were over leveled, I won the battle despite the set backs. Luckily for me, I remember soft resets were allowed, so I saved right before the battle and was able to try again. On my second attempt, not only did I complete my task, I revived Rapidash and completed my task a second time before the battle ended, giving me the 30 challenge points I've been aiming for. I now pass off the save to LeGoldenWolf, who will be taking on the 8th and final gym leader.

Segment 9
DragonEye's White Save

Nothing much worth noting here. I leveled up Petilil and evolved her into Liligant. Also evolved Timburr into Gurdurr. Clay ended up being very easy with quiver dance giga drain Liligant (y)

Segment 10/13
Restriction: Only 1 pokémon of each colour!

Continuing our adventure in the Unova region, we had to make it through Chargestone Cave! the wild encounters in that place were kinda nuts haha, but, we did come across a funny little face, so, I caught it, naming it Specter for its ghostly white appearance!
Capture d'écran 2024-07-27 051043.png
After getting out of it, we received an item called a "Lucky Egg" I believe it'll be super duper useful to help level up some of my other members!
However, after making it through the cave, making it to the top of the tower on Route 7, and maybe getting a concusion
Capture d'écran 2024-07-27 054530.pngowchies...

We managed to defeat Skyla and get our 6th badge! Her swanna would've been a bit tough, but we simply had too many rock types to really find it to be an issue!

Chapter 10 - HEATING UP!

Doctor Rules:
Spoiler:

Oh no... our abandoned Sapphire save...

Thankfully Draco went absolutely ham with the Pickup start. Therefore the 56 (yes, 56) Rare Candies were very much appreciated! We boost up Grovyle, Loudred, Breloom and a newly caught Numel to levels between 35 and 40, evolving Grovyle and Numel in the process. That should set us up quite nicely for the rest of the run.

Then it's a quick detour to beat up Team Aqua (boooooo), before heading to Lavaridge for our next goal. Beating Flannery.

For very obvious reasons, this is a walk in the park. Over 15 levels higher than anything in the Gym, we cruise through the Gym before beating Flannery and getting ourselves the Heat Badge!

And with that, onto the next segment!

Chapter 11 - Cooling down

Doctor Rules:
Spoiler:

Ooooo, new place, exciting!

First thing's first, as always I stock up on them supplies, before the long journey ahead. Firstly our mates want to check out the Poké Ball Factory, so naturally I go with them to make sure no one gets hurt. We clear out Team Flare, before then making our way to Route 17.

Apart from... it's blocked off. Off to the Frost Cavern then! Ignoring all the extra items and stuff, this is actually a breeze. We've a solid team at this point and I've spent this whole segment training up our Gallade, so the team is even stronger.

One Mamoswine trip later and we're at Anistar City, where I hear straight for the Gym. I forgot how the puzzle went which was annoying, but we eventually defeat the Gym Leader!

And with that, so ends Segment 11. Almost done now!

Aroma Lady Tour update!
Segment 11/13
Restriction: Only 1 pokémon of each colour!

The unova region is in peril, hearing some screaming over in dragonspiral, I went to go check them out, only to realize that N has gotten his hands on Reshiram!
Capture d'écran 2024-07-28 050617.png
Whatever was happening, I had to get to the bottom of it, however... I do suppose that the last badge of the league is in the way so, might aswell go get that one!
Iris overall was rather simple, especially thanks to Vanilite's Evolution, Vanilish!

Segment 12/13
Restriction: Only 1 pokémon of each colour!

Having heard about Team Magma's and Aqua's antics, the hoenn region was my next destination... and it is as I feared, by slowly getting my way through Team Aqua's Fortress, I sadly realized that they have awakened Kyogre! mixed with the awakening of Groudon, I do believe that it'll be the end of this world as we know it... unless, unless we follow Wallace's advice and go find an even stronger Pokémon to tell these two to stop fighting!

As we made our way up Sky Pillar, which, in all honesty was far smaller than I remembered, we woke up the Legendary Pokémon Rayquaza and soon enough, everything was alright...
Capture d'écran 2024-07-28 061321.png
A crisis having been averted, it was now time to collect our 6th badge, while Juan did give a bit of issues (afterall, getting confused as a Sword Danced Crawdaunt is never a good way to do things)
We did manage to win and get our final Badge of the Hoenn League!

Save:wolf's emerald save
Segment: 7/13 Fortree City --> Mossdeep City

There was a ton of grinding and story progression. That's all I have to say. I'm tired.

Team: Aqua
Class: Psychic
Restriction: Must have 2 Ghost or Psychic type pokémon in your party at all times.
Save: Explorer of Time's X save
Segment: 12/13 Anistar City -> Snowbelle City

I've never played X or Y before so seeing the story unfold with this random lunatic trying to nuke the world and no body really doing anything about it besides Soleil the protagonist was very strange. After beating him 3 times he blew himself up or something. Then the professor came to me apologising for enabling his behaviour. What a strange story! Anyway, then I headed to Snowbelle to beat the final gym who fell in 4 turns (thanks Carl!) and now I hand the save over for its completion!
A quick note, there's apparently a Dusk Stone somewhere in Terminus Cave but it needs Rock Smash and we don't seem to have that. So if you want to evolve Durandal to an Aegislash, you'll need that I think.

This will likely be my final segment for the event so I want to thank the hosts for the challenge! It's been great fun playing all the different games together and it's ran pretty smoothly I think!

Spoiler:

Bunnelby (our HM slave in the PC) knows Rock Smash.
