FireRed hack: [Hack of the Year 2009] Pokémon: Azure Horizons

I'll take that as a no. I have no right to complain but this is frankly a bit annoying with the addition of gen 4 Pokemon and the PSS.

I guess I just didn't see your post, actually, there are some new moves from the later generations, for example, Fairy-type moves can be learned by many Pokemon. So, many Pokemon from generation 4 still have their gen 4 movepool while some of them have better movepool from the later generations.

That's great but for example, I'm not seeing Machop with the No Guard ability. I'm also wondering if moves like Aura Sphere or Flash Cannon were added. I really appreciate your efforts in any case.

so I've found some bugs:
1.) Staravia doesn't learn any TMs/HMs
2.) Monferno didnt get Mach Punch upon evolution.

I'm playing the 2023 version.

EDIT: Also, for some reason in the midway point of the story Team Tundra loses the Team Magma/Aqua Battle theme and marts loses the Poke Mart theme from RSE.

Sorry for the late reply, I had been busy for a while and couldn't find time to fix this. Now these should be fixed along with some other glitches.

Thanks to Allen Ceedos and Olivia R.'s report, some more glitches were spotted and fixed. What's more, I realized I might have forgotten about fixing the cries, now the Pokemon should have their proper cries, the old link still works:

Update 12/3/2025:
A few more glitches were found and fixed, the music of Team Tundra was corrected, too. The updated version also came with a few more post-game events and some new catchable legendaries. This game should feel more like a complete hack now.

I just realized I had never tested if Phione can be obtainable through breeding Manaphy, but in the end it was proven impossible. So I decided to simply make Manaphy can't be breeded and add Phione's egg as one of the many random rare Pokemon eggs which can be bought in the Polaris Market. This way it can be obtained for sure.
Sorry for the frequent update, but if you don't mind Phione being unobtainable then this update is not too important.

I found a bug; for some reason flash cannon is a water type move and noted as a status move.[PokeCommunity.com] [Hack of the Year 2009] Pokémon: Azure Horizons

Thanks so much for letting me know, I must had overlooked that when testing the game. I've fixed that just now.

The patch was updated a bit thanks to Carmen_Caramel's report. Now the move Flash Cannon should be fixed.

I've found some more bugs/mistakes:

1. In Dordoran City, Grant is regularly referred to as she/Tanya. One example is the lady below.[PokeCommunity.com] [Hack of the Year 2009] Pokémon: Azure Horizons

2. Also in Dordoran City, this one girl changes sprites when she moves.
[PokeCommunity.com] [Hack of the Year 2009] Pokémon: Azure Horizons[PokeCommunity.com] [Hack of the Year 2009] Pokémon: Azure Horizons
3. Larvitar has an empty learnset. It does not seem to learn moves naturally.
[PokeCommunity.com] [Hack of the Year 2009] Pokémon: Azure Horizons
4. On route 806, the repel reusage message causes these two running trainers to freeze. Interacting with them causes the game to freeze.
[PokeCommunity.com] [Hack of the Year 2009] Pokémon: Azure Horizons
5. Torterra evolves at level 36, instead on level 32. I'm not sure if this intentional, but if it is the original creator really hates turtwig considering the first few gyms :').
6. The route house between Galena and Hazel has a Slowpoke that should probably disappear once you've gotten the SS Pass. Now, the route house is a permanent one-way route due to Slowpoke blocking the way east.

Hope you'll be able to fix these, good luck :)

Thanks, these should be fixed by now.
Has anyone figured out how to get to storm island? Who do I talk to for the passport?
You need to beat the admins and the boss of Team Tundra on S. S. Aurora after becoming the champion.

Thanks to jiangzhengwenjzw's help and endrift's fixed rtc code, the day/night system in this should work properly with most emulators now. Also, the wrong dialogue, wrong ow sprites, bw repel system script, Larvitar's movepool and the gatehouse slowpoke glitch should all be fixed by now.

Thank you for your continuous work with this! I loved playing thru this hack when it was 1st updated by you & look forward to trying some more when I finish my other game I'm playing :)

Really a very nice story, one of the best hacks I've played. It's been a long time since I've ventured into a new region and this hack was really exciting.

The only thing I found really difficult is the League, I arrived after the eighth medal with Pokémon at lv 45 but the opponents are almost 20 levels stronger. A big jump.

Anyway, congratulations for all the work on this version!

One more bug I found: Sturdy doesn't work (at least on Magnezone).

Actually, the level curve should be the same as the original FR/LG, the highest level of the elite four should be around Lv55 and the champion should be around Lv60, unless there's a glitch which makes you trigger the post-game team, which is around Lv60 to Lv68, if that's the case, please tell me since that has to be a glitch.

I'm not sure about how it doesn't work since none of the old bilities were changed, if you mean it doesn't make the Pokemon remain 1hp like how it works in B/W then I think it's normal, because it works the same way as how it was in generation 3, if it doesn't even work the same way as the generation 3 games, then I may need to check it out later.
