Definitely an improvement!

From what I can tell: the forehead in the first one looks very big. Maybe lower the height a little? Also the fist could use some work (but I know: drawing hands is difficult)

The second one looks good for the most part. The thing that sticks out is the hair. It could use a little more detail especially as everything else feels a lot more detailed in comparison.

Oh I love this! I like how the colors aren't as saturated, gives a very nice sweet rural feel.
