    Happy Moon Festival!

    Full Moon, Full Hearts

September 15 marks the start of the Mid-Autumn Festival for China, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Korea and by ethnic Chinese and Koreans worldwide. So in this celebration, people celebrate the coming of the night of a full moon. The beauty of the moon is important, as we all celebrate it, even if we're miles and miles apart.

Mooncakes are a common treat during this time too! There are also lantern displays, carnivals, and a fire dragon dance. It's just as important as the Lunar New Year/Chinese New Year. So, in celebration! Allow me to introduce one emblem:

By helping us celebrate this day, on this thread!

This emblem also represents your good nature. You help make people smile with your nature, as well as your empathy and kindness helps anyone in need! Post here if you gave any compliments, or any other great posts to the people you love and admire.

Special thanks for Sun on bringing this celebration to light. ^^

I barely knew anything about this before but I did some reading about it the other day. It seems pretty interesting and fun and I'd love to check it out someday, though currently I seem to be stuck on the wrong side of the world :| Hope those of you who have the day off (or several days off, in a few countries I believe) enjoy the celebrations! Take pictures!

Usually we just get the family together for dinner, but that's mostly my dad's idea and he's away on vacation this week, so my brothers are I are kind of like "eh, we see each other all the time, don't really have to do this if we're busy". My mom and I are honestly pretty sick of traditional mooncakes since they're gifted every year, so we went out to buy some of these "snowskin mooncakes" for ourselves -

    Spoiler:

They come in a variety of flavours (I just ate the strawberry one) and they're really pretty, too!

Growing up, I never celebrated this but I think it's a lovely holiday and would love to start creating traditions with my husband and eventually our little family.

Yeah! Nothing big, usually just a family dinner together. Since it's just my mom and I tonight, we made plans to just sit out on the balcony to look at the moon and finish these mooncakes, haha.

Happy Moon Festival! We celebrated the festival last night by eating moon cake and having our relatives over for dinner. I also went to meet some of my friends that I haven't seen in a while. We went to the Moon Festival celebration our old school was holding. There was a lion dance, a lantern parade and a lot of cool stalls so it was a really good night! It's also become an annual tradition for us since all of us have gone since we were 8 and 9.

I also love the mooncakes! I must have had at least five in the past week at this point. I like the ones that have pure white lotus seed but I know that my dad and sister are huge fans of the ones with egg yolk in them. We also tried out a new mooncake this year that had ham in it but it honestly wasn't that good. The Moon Festival was awesome otherwise, though.

This year it was fantastic. Not only was it my first year celebrating but it's also the first Moon Festival since my Aunt and Uncle brought home their sweet baby girl from China. c: Unfortunately, I didn't get to spend the day with them since I'm living in another state now, but it was awesome getting to see all the pictures from how they celebrated and sending them well wishes and such! It was a really great day and definitely something I'm going to be celebrating from now on! <3

No how am I late seeing this thread :'(

Anyway I love the moon and this is such a cool holiday, I do wish I lived in Asia sometimes to take parts in celebrations like these, English holidays are pretty boring haha. Happy belated Moon Festival everyone!
