Have you ever lied about your age to save money?

My mum did this once so she could use the family rail card...

Yes, I always looked younger than my age really is, so I could easily pretend being 14 or younger for quite some time and buy the children's ticket on trains and not the adult's.
Now, few months before I turn 18, I really don't look like 14 anymore so I probably will not be able to pull this through the next time I drive somewhere by train (the last time has been quite a bit ago)

Yes, i did for a plenty of time. I was encouraged by my parents. I still look younger than my age and can lie, that i am underage sometimes.

I don't really think lying about your age is a big deal. I don't do it myself but a lot of my friends do. Most of the ticket sales are grouped ages anyway e.g. teen is 13-17, so most people have to pay the same price.

No, even though I look far younger than I actually am. That sort of lying makes me uncomfortable. The only time my parents ever lied about my age was making out I was 16 instead of 14 so that I could get in to see Matrix: Reloaded. What a waste of money that was, lol.

Why not? I can often pass for a younger person. There's nothing wrong with saving a few dollars. (We only do it when the price difference is large, though. Most of the time, we just suck it up and pay :P)

One day train tickets, only because I was only going to stay at the destination for like 5 minutes. Don't think it worked tough, the guy was pissed. Still gave me a kid ticket though.

Ahaha...my parents always try doing that with me, but I always feel uncomfortable doing it. xP
Oh yeah, once, there was a restaurant owner that thought I was a high schooler instead of the actual 10 to 12 year old I really was (I was tall for my age then), and my poor parents ended up paying more for me. I was taller than the owner.

I've never done this but I'd be lying if I never thought about it. Every time I'm at the movies and I'm paying at the machines instead of the register, I always think about "Maybe I should buy a child's ticket?". Not sure how they would check such a thing as they always only look a the theater number.

That's pretty much the only time I could get away with lying about my age though.

Oh, yes. I look very young for my age. Though I am turning seventeen in a few weeks, I can still pass for as young as fourteen or fifteen, assuming I act that way. If I act mature, sometimes people end up saying anyway, "You act mature for your age. How old are you, fourteen?"

Once I got asked if I was going into highschool. I had to tell them I was just about to graduate from it :pink_giggle:

Yeah I took the train down to london and I got a child's ticket annnnd I got caught oooppppps :) Yess that was pretty bad; well I did save some money but I don't think I can do it anymore.. :/

Hell yeah. I can't anymore, because places around me are saying for like 10 and under now, unlike 12 and under when I could pass off for that two years ago.

When I was smaller, my parents would about my age, they would tell the cashier that I was nine when I was obviously nine and ten months, to pay lesser money.

My aunt & uncle still does it. My cousins are so small, one is in 5th and the other is in 8th, that they can be passed as nine-year olds. :-|

"Who hasn't lied about age to save money?" would be a more appropriate title. It's only a few dollars saved, but hey, a dollar saved is a dollar earned.

Yeah I lie a lot about my age like to eat at a discount price, go to the theaters and watch PG-13 movies, and last, but not least to buy movies.
