How did you get interested in technology?

    So I want to know.. what are your roots of getting into technology as an interest/hobby? Did you ever think that you would be interested in technology back then? How long have you enjoyed working with technology of any sort?
     
    Technology I'm guessing includes video games as well? Video games were the pivotal point of when I started to gain a real interest in the technology field. There's also the fact that I've been using laptops for 6-7 years. Technology just seemed more appealing to me than going out and shopping like normal girls would do. I'd much rather sit on my behind, game, code or whatever. Web design and development catapulted me into the computer world and I've been doing it on/off for 5-6 years so there's that. Now that I'm in a technology related program, my interest in it has only increased (:
     
    When I was in 3rd grade, my friends all played this game called Runescape online and that's where I really got started. However, I was playing computer games from the age of like 6. I'd play this one called Putt-Putt where you were like a little car that had to do things. Don't remember the exact story.
     
    I've had an interest in computers since before I can remember, and I can remember pretty far back. :P

    I think it started when I was 5 years old, and my mother had received a (then) top-of-the-line Gateway desktop running Windows XP on 1 GB of RAM and an Intel Pentium 4 processor. I was so intimately fascinated with it, and how it worked, and I remember calling my mom downstairs to show her that I could change the icons of folders when I was 6! Around the age of 9 or 10 my family got internet for the first time, which is when I started playing Jagex's famed MMORPG called RuneScape. I played that game for years, and it's where my pseudonym AlexTheRose first spawned. After that, I had already built a vested interest into Pokémon, so naturally the two merged together to become what is now my existence on PC. :)
     
    Well maybe because I was given a computer lol.

    I was given one when I was 7 and started to like playing games that led me to developing some games which utterly failed and them gaming and programming so here I am. >:D
     
    I started when I was 5 yrs. old when my dad bought a computer as a gift for my sis but she is not interested in computer so she gave it to me.I'm using it right now even though it is a very laggy PC :P.
     
    I first got interested in technology because my mom is a huge techie and introduced me to it and found out I have a knack for it. I can do hardware, software, and various other kinds of support. :3
     
    I'm not really interested in computers and electronics. I do use them all the time, but I don't care about how they work. I do love automobiles and heavy machinery. I guess watching too much of Discovery Turbo might have something to do with it.
