As I have just have the most terrible time at Aiports lately I thought I'd do this thread.

the most I have waited was 7 hours at Newark airport due to thunderstorms.

    OHHHHH hate that alot.

The last time it happened was on my last trip. Coming back from perth to Sydney for the last time :(

I was delayed for like 4.5 hours and what's worse it was like 7:30 PM so I was put on the last plane outa there.

At least I stayed in Perth for a bid longer :)

I actually haven't really been delayed that often which is a good thing since I usually have to take more than one plane in order to reach my destination (it being cheaper and everything). Latest one was when out flight was delayed for only an hour, but due to the hour or so delay by the time we go to the airport to board the other plane the other one was already boarding. My sister and I were lucky to have gotten seats next to eachother.

I haven't had a delayed flight, but I have had a cancelled one because of weather, so we ended up staying in DC another night back on our field trip. And I think my mom mentioned a delayed flight when we were on our way home from Disney World, but I didn't know it was delayed at the time so I don't really count it. lol It was apparently 2 hours.

I had a flight delayed for about 15 hours due to "high winds" (This was Chicago; they don't call it the windy city for nothing!) before they finally came and told us it was cancelled. I was so pissed off. :/

I think the longest I've ever waited was between 2 or 4 hours. I imagine if it was much longer, the boredom would be totally imprinted in my memory and I wouldn't be struggling to come up with my answer. :P

Actually, I think a flight was delayed a whole day once due to a snowstorm when my family was coming back from Orlando one year. We got around it by instead flying Orlando->Chicago->Toronto overnight instead of Orlando->Buffalo + driving to Toronto. My parents had to drive down to the Buffalo airport the next day to get the van but I was fine since I got to stay home. :P Not such a bad experience at all.

I think it was 4-5 hours. We were just about ready to board the plane when they said that they encountered engine trouble and everybody would have to wait. Boy, I was mad... probably wouldn't even have been as mad if they didn't let us know at the very last minute that it would be delayed.

Maybe an hour or two. I've only ever flown to and from Japan and on the Japanese side they're pretty damn quick about everything. Since all my American flights were also co-operated by Japanese airlines they were better than average.

I've been on a flight delayed 6 hours. I was going on my senior trip and there were two planes going nonstop from Philadelphia to Orlando, one for the first half of our group and one for the second half. The plane for the second half of my class had some kind of trouble so it ended up being delayed, but then I guess the trouble was bad enough that they couldn't use it at all. It took the other plane 3 hours to get to Orlando, then it turned around and came back to Philly and picked up the second half of the class and flew us there, so we missed the first event of our senior trip and it was obnoxious haha.

I've been delayed several times; it kind of happens if you fly. I can't remember the longest, because it's been a good five years since I've had to fly anywhere.

One time the delay became a cancellation. I was broke and the airline was only giving discount vouchers so I had to sleep in the airport. ;__; The other time my flight was delayed in one city which made me late for my connecting flight in another. That time I thankfully had the money to stay in a hotel, I was not sleeping in an airport again!

I've only ever had one delayed flight from when I was flying from manchester to zakynthos. I don't remember how long I was delayed for, but it was for a goood few hours. I didn't actually get onto the plane till around 10AM when I'd arived at the airport at about 4AM. Even then we had to fly to Athens and then get a ferry to the island which took another few hours.
It wasn't a very good start to the holiday.

I've only been on a plane 3 times my whole life. The second time, there was an engine problem, and I had to stay at Brussels for about 3 hours. I was about 8, and I remember getting into an argument with some kid at the terminal. Oh the joy.

    Fly Emirates!

I had quite the experience flying back from Salt Lake this one time with my family. There was thunderstorms at our final destination (Boston) that was holding us up for 5-7 hrs. But it got better. Just as we were descending, the pilot announced that the storms had rolled back in and we were diverting to Albany, NY. (For those of you who don't know that's a couple hundred miles north of NYC) So after waiting out the storms (which took another 2-3 hrs) We FINALLY got home.

I have never really had a long delay on a flight, probably about 15 minutes? and this was coming back from Majorca.
