So, people love to use hyper offense teams but has anyone ever made a hyper defense team? Here's my take.

    [PokeCommunity.com] Hyper Defense! (Pokebank OU)

    Thorny (Ferrothorn) @ Leftovers
    Ability: Iron Barbs
    EVs: 252 HP / 48 Def / 208 SDef
    Relaxed Nature
    IVs: 0 Spd
    - Spikes
    - Stealth Rock
    - Leech Seed
    - Gyro Ball

This guy is a standard Ferrothorn, meant to get plenty of entry hazards up (this will get more important later), leech seed anyone who dares to set up against it, and gyro ball for some serious damage (and to screw with taunt users).

    [PokeCommunity.com] Hyper Defense! (Pokebank OU)

Humpty Dumpty (Blissey) (F) @ Leftovers
    Ability: Natural Cure
    EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef
    Calm Nature
    - Soft-Boiled
    - Aromatherapy
    - Toxic
    - Seismic Toss

Again, a standard Blissey set meant to eat up special attacks and support my team. It would be nice to have Wish + Protect but I can't give up Aromatherapy as status practically kills my Pokemon and their strategies.

    [PokeCommunity.com] Hyper Defense! (Pokebank OU)

    Pringles (Jellicent) (M) @ Leftovers
    Ability: Cursed Body
    EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SDef
    Bold Nature
    - Will-O-Wisp
    - Taunt
    - Scald
    - Recover

Jellicent is here for two reasons: To screw with setup sweepers and to spinblock. Nothing else to say.

    [PokeCommunity.com] Hyper Defense! (Pokebank OU)

    Titanic (Avalugg) @ Leftovers
    Ability: Sturdy
    EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
    Impish Nature
    - Rapid Spin
    - Recover
    - Avalanche
    - Stone Edge

Avalugg is the opposite of Blissey; He eats up physical hits. Of course I need a rapid spinner, and avalanche does massive damage if it's been hit in that turn. Stone Edge is also there for coverage.

    [PokeCommunity.com] Hyper Defense! (Pokebank OU)

    Charles (Dragonite) @ Leftovers
    Ability: Multiscale
    EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef
    Careful Nature
    - Substitute
    - Thunder Wave
    - Roost
    - Dragon Tail

Here's why entry hazards were so important. This Dragonite is sorta the star of my team, as it makes an amazing shuffler. As long as there are no Fairies stopping it, Dragonite can do lots of work while Thunder Waving and Dragon Tailing behind a Sub.

    [PokeCommunity.com] Hyper Defense! (Pokebank OU)

    Slugger (Gastrodon) @ Leftovers
    Ability: Storm Drain
    EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
    Bold Nature
    - Earth Power
    - Ice Beam
    - Toxic
    - Recover

Gastrodon here makes a great Toxic staller and has some good coverage moves. Enough said.

Soo, that's my hyper defense team. You Like?

Use 4 HP/252 Def/252 SDef to have Blissey take physical hits a bit better.

IMO, having two entry hazards on Ferrothorn isn't good, because it makes it setup bait. If I were you, I'd choose between Stealth Rock or Spikes and replace one of them with Power Whip or Protect.

Para-shuffling with Dragonite isn't as good as it used to be because of Fairies being immune to Dragon Tail. Use something with Whirlwind or Roar instead, though you can give Roar to Avalugg.

Why not replace Blissey with eviolite chansey(keep the moves and stats.)

People do use "hyper defense" teams....they just call 'em stall instead.

But one thing to consider is that since we're in ORAS now you could replace Jellicent with Mega Sableye. It does what Jellicent does but has the bonus of having Prankster in the base form and Magic Bounce (so it can't be statused or Taunted and reflects Stealth Rock and stuff) in the Mega form. It also makes for one less Grass weakness on the team. It does share a Fairy weakness with Dragonite but it's probably best to run with something else in that slot.

So does Chansey @ Landorus even post knock off if you use the superior ev spread of max def and sp.def.

Neither of them beat Gengar with S-Toss and Toxic, he has gastro and nite for Gar anyway.

Oh wait, I don't see Ice Beam on his Blissey. It's mandatory to run it if you want to beat those two assholes.

Though Lando with Knock Off + Focus Miss still deals a lot of damage ...

    0 Atk Life Orb Landorus Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 4 HP / 252+ Def Blissey: 199-235 (30.5 - 36%) -- guaranteed 4HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 SpA Life Orb Sheer Force Landorus Focus Blast vs. 4 HP / 252 SpD Blissey: 260-307 (39.8 - 47%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery
    0 SpA Blissey Ice Beam vs. 0 HP / 0- SpD Landorus: 272-324 (85.2 - 101.5%) -- 87.5% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock

You can run 32 SpA EVs (lol) to get the guaranteed OHKO with Ice Beam after LO recoil (Knock Off).

    As for Gengar:

    252 SpA Life Orb Gengar Focus Blast vs. 4 HP / 252 SpD Blissey: 221-260 (33.8 - 39.8%) -- 31.7% chance to 3HKO after Leftovers recovery
    0 SpA Blissey Ice Beam vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Gengar: 65-77 (25 - 29.7%) -- guaranteed 4HKO

So that's a 4HKO. Of course, watch out for SubSplit variants.

With that said: Ice Beam > Seismic Toss
    Change your Blissey's EV spread to 4 HP / 252 Def / 252 SpD + Bold Nature
