According to Serebii, shows some different IV spreads and Silver bottle caps which raise one stat. It also hinted that there might be gold bottle caps.

What are your opinions on this? do you think there will be a limit to bottle caps?

The way the Bottle Caps work seem solid enough to me. I still hope there is some bottle cap to lower IVs, though, in case you want to run some special sets or something.

Also, I doubt there will be a limit on bottle caps, I don't see why there would be.

I don't think there will be a limit to bottle caps, but it looks asif some will raise a higher number of stats than others. I'm guessing there will be more than silver and gold, each will probably have its own perk.

I don't think a limit would be plausible, since I know there's a lot of people that want to make use of this new feature. What I am curious about is what the Gold Bottle Caps will do, especially in a way that makes them likely very rare.

clbgolden makes a fair point though; sometimes you do want to lower IVs in very special scenarios, so we'll see if Game Freak has an answer to that.

I agree, hopefully we'll get another item that lowers IVs since some people do want IVs to be specific so they can get a certain Hidden Power type, or try and have 0 Speed IVs for a Trick Room user etc.

I'm thinking the Gold bottle caps would either:

    a) Raise a Pokemon's IVs by 2 or 3
    b) Raise multiple IVs by 1.
Isn't that kind of a downgrade from the Siler, though? Unless I'm misunderstanding, a Silver Cap completely maxes out one IV stat.

It looks pretty clear to me that they tested 3 Garchomps, and gave them all max Attack IV's using one silver bottle cap each.

I'm guessing the Gold bottle cap maxes out all the IV's, and they'd be extremely rare like.... one per game or something.
Doesn't Magerna hold a Silver Bottle Cap? Seems like they will be rare too, so it would make sense if they maxed out a stat. There will probably be more bottle caps like normal ones (that go by one and are easy to farm) and hopefully Black bottle caps that reduce a stat.

but the question is, why would a Mythical Pokemon such as Magerna be holding a Silver Bottle Cap if they're common? Maybe they could do that, but I'd prefer another, easy to find Pokemon hold them so we can Thief them from them.

Well that works xD that might just be the case, and I hope so too because there's many Pokemon I'd like to hyper train, and I don't want to be limited.

    Shits and giggles.

Like, that's legitimately my only explanation for that LOL maybe Game Freak just made it hold a bottle cap for no other reason other than it's just something nice for the player for have for having Magerna.

I'm not a fan of overthinking things if it's possible that there's a simpler explanation, instead. :P

I am still confused over why Magearna will be holding a bottle cap when obtained via its upcoming QR Code-scanned event. Maybe Game Freak are trying to use it to introduce players to Hyper Training.

That's why I don't overthink things when there's a possibliity of a much simple explanation, Hikari! It's probably an item to get players started on Hyper Training and is no actual indication of the rarity of the item itself.

You do have a point, since event Pokemon tend to attract players and when they hear about Hyper Training and the bottle caps' purpose they'll eventually learn how it's executed as a mechanic.

Even if they're rare, there's probably going to be a way for people to hack them in with Powersaves. ;c

I hope they have a way to adjust for Hidden Powers and Trick Room sets, though. But I'll take what I can get. If this were around I could have stopped at the 200th Charmander egg instead of over 1000 if I could just fix its IVs.

Wait so they max out all the stat's IVs? If so I guess that means the silver caps max out one stat. Anyways I need to get me one of those guidebooks now lol.
It's also funny how it specifically mentions Togedemaru.

If they're real items and not key items or in the Hyper Training screen only then they'll probably be put on Powersaves and made widely available eventually :x

I hope that they are not super duper rare, though. I mean, we'll need at least 6 for a full team, right? I wonder if it'll mark a Pokemon to show they've had their IVs modified.
