I like him, his team, his training (rough like) but not the way he treats his pokemon. Oh well, he's just like Blue or Green from the manga. You can't change him.

Actually, Green (the Japanese version, Blue in the American) did change. He employed Red's tactics in their big showdown at Indigo and was genuine on his improving outlook. By FR/LG, he and Red were pretty chummy, I think.
 
Silver changed too.

The whole Blue/Green thing confuses me. Which one is the girl again?

And Paul seems to be based on Silver. Although, Silver did appear in the OP for the Crystal Special, so.

Red/Green were the original two games in Japan, then came Blue as an improvement over Green's flawed programming. Thus, Blue was the girl in the Japanese version of Special, as the final, third counterpart. Since there isn't a Green version in America (Green's engine in America would be in Pokemon Blue's), Viz simply switched the names, to match the Red/Blue = Ash/Gary rivalry.

Besides, not many Americans knew of Pokemon Green back then, so Viz downplayed that to avoid complicating matters. Only, later, with the internet boom, it got bemusing as people wanted to know the Japanese terms.

Red:Charmander
Blue(US):Squirtle
Green(US):Bulbasaur
 
I love Paul i love the way he treats Pokemon but i dont like when Ash makes bad comments its his Pokemon.

I just hope there's a connection to Paul and the Galactics in the anime. I'm sick and tired of redemption in media.
 
I bet he ties his pokemon to a tree when they lose a battle, and starts whipping them and shouting never to lose. lol!
 
I wasn't impressed with his character design at all (icky icky icky)... but I did want to punch him in the face so at least he's caught my attention. Maybe he'll liven things up a bit.
