Idea: Tier 6?

Very true.. space is NOT an issues on this current server (we have tons)

well some things I've been thinking of is allowing more blocks / pages in the blog (HTML will NEVER be an option except for staff accessed acp), more album space/limits etc.

not sure about the read receipt thing.. I've not even bothered with it since we turned it off way back when.. It COULD be revisited if it's a wanted feature.

I'm sure we all, including the staff, can come up some neat stuff to offer.. maybe there is a custom plugin or hack we could offer to you or whatever.. point is, it won't be all that big yet will still show that we do appreciate your above and beyond support efforts.
Heh. I'd expected that the HTML idea would get shot down. There's always an inherent security risk to allowing HTML coding in the forums. I think the read receipt system could be useful. I know one of the main reasons it was disabled was because it was annoying to the staff members because it asked if you wanted to acknowledge the request for a 'read' receipt (Perhaps we could add an option that would allow us to globally accept/reject read receipt requests. Maybe even go a step further by allowing the receipt requests to be limited to contacts and moderators only. This option could eliminate the annoyance of the system and prevent it's abuse)

Aurapostle: You misread the intent of my post. I was merely implying that it could not hurt to not only expand the supporters' User CP options, but the staff's as well, on a much greater scale (After all, It would only be fair that staff should always have way more options than the supporters do. And since server capacity is no object, it cant hurt to greatly expand all staff's UserCP abilities, you guys and gals do deserve it after all)

Im dissapointed that people think they need gratification, it makes you no better donating 500 dolllars, the thought that you take your money to benefit a group you love is the concept.

That is the concept and it is true that you can't enjoy something x amount of dollars more. But if someone did donate such a big number they would need some sort of reflection of gratitude because that is huge.

seeing as it appears that I'm currently the only one posting in here who has passed the $60 donation mark and would most likely benefit from any new tiers if they were created, I must reiterate my first point that I made.

I could really not care all that much if there were more perks. Sure they'd be great, but I'm also happy with what we have so far.

As many have said before, Donating isn't all about the perks. Donating should be out of the generosity of your heart to help continue such a great place as PC. That being said, I can pretty much guarantee that I will be donating some more in 2009; not because I want more perks, but because this place means a great deal to me. Many of my friends are on here and I'd like to continue to see PC grow and flourish.

Thank You
as you can see, I'm not asking for recognition, nor am I in dire need of more perks. If they choose to leave it at 5 tiers then so be it. I'm content and thankful with what they have decided to give out. I will not say no if they choose to offer more, but I'm also not asking for more either.

The only reason I can see it as beneficial, is that it may provoke current Tier 5 CSs to donate more, thus helping the community. I'm sure there could be something added as a perk. Signature and Avatar fileszie limits could be increased, although I think SigPics need an increase anyway, they were set when people used Jpeg sigs. (19.5KB :D)

How can anyone say it wouldn't be beneficial? It would encourage more donations and that is ALWAYS a good thing. It's silly to argue any other way. You can get into the nitty gritty and argue about WHY people should donate but that really doesn't matter. All that matters is that people are donating and helping the community. If people wanna donate $100 dollars and would appreciate a little tiny graphic next to their name for that--I think that's totally fine.

For all you people saying "Oh, it's not about the perks, it's about helping out": How would you feel if you had all of your perks stripped away from you and nothing but a "Thanks for the cash."?

I find it really hard to believe that anyone here is that unselfish/wouldn't be upset.

I don't know, we have a few staff that already get all of the benefits, anyway. I know what you mean, though.

The only thing thats remotely sensible that I can see about tier six is only if we allow a bigger signature to compliment the bigger avatar; but the signature limits are already good enough.

What do you really want from Tier 6? To show how heavy your wallet is? To show how generous you are? or to get extra features by (dont kill me) "bribing" the staff... If you want to donate more money, do so... I've already got my sights set on being the highest donater some time in the future but I dont really care about getting special recognition for it...

Even if you donate $1000, I dont think you should get any more then an forum announcement from Steve saying "Thank you."

Just my views :/
