    Somehow, the above question is immensely popular as the first line to me from 90% of all my online friends o_O; After a couple years of handling

    "I'm bored <whines> I'm bored <whines more> borrreeeed"

    I'm honestly out of ideas on what to say ><; It's making far too many 'awkward silence moments' for me because I have no idea how to reply to that. I've always tried telling them to pick up a new hobby, do some work, and try other types of stuff to do, but then the reply is always how all of those stuff are also boring or they are just apathetic about those stuff. Afterward, they continue to nag about being bored...

    Are you somehow fortunate enough to hardly face this scenario?
    If you aren't so lucky like me, what do you say in response to it o.o;

    Well, I sometimes get stuck in this situation when I'm talking to a certain friend of mine... simply because we talk to each other almost every single day, and eventually we end up running out of things to chat about. Because we always act completely random together, that results in some pretty weird messages getting sent back and forth. Example:

    Me: I'm boooored.
    Her: Same here. XD
    Me: XD
    Her: XDD
    Me: XDDDD
    Her: XDDDD
    Me: XD;
    Her: >__>;
    Me: ...
    Her: .......
    Me: ............
    Her: .... I'm bored. XD
    Me: XD Me too.

    Believe it or not, that's actually the kind of stuff that we type. :x Occasionally we'll come up with an interesting subject, though! Like chocolate.

    I'm normally the one who says I'm bored~But rarely if people say that to me I'd just say XD and then not talk to them for a half an hour until something happens for me to inform the other person on.

    About half the people who contact me on MSN probably are.

    Lol, took one look at the thread title, the thread creator.../rolleyes. =x

    I usually just do-

    You: I'm bored.
    Me: Okay.
    You: Unbore me. ;;
    Me: Sure. How?
    You: I don't know. ;;
    Me: Okay.
    You: ...
    You: I'm bored. ;;

    Then again, you might actually be me. >.> Whatever~ xD

    Nah, Lily is more like

    Lily: let's download <some RO server!>
    me: nah
    Lily: DO IT >O
    me: no time
    Lily: OMGosh
    me: o.O;
    Lily: DO YOU THINK I CARE? DL, NOW!
    me: *zzz*
    Lily: ;o;

    yeah XD;

    Hmm, when I'm bored... It usually goes like this:

    Me: WOMG YOSHI-KUNS/DAVI-KUN/SHI-CHAN/NATTI-POO WHARE AAAARRRR JOOOO?!?!
    Me: *Presses nudge button a billion times even though I can't send any nudges because I disabled them*
    Me: *Sends a bunch of sounds to wake people up*
    Me: HAAAAY!!! ARE JOO DERE?!?!?

    (I never type with good grammar on MSN. xDD I usually spell out words the way they sound. 'Intarnet Ecksplorer'. <--- Yoshi-kuns is so awesome.)

    :3 But usually, when it's David, it'll just be...

    Me: I'm bored.
    David: Me too.

    Or

    Me: I'm bored.
    David: oo

    And that's usually the end of the conversation. :3 Usually, when I'm bored, I freak out and go all caps lock happy. I get high on boredom. :x So I get high a lot. <--- That sounds really weird. < <;

    When I bored I get on MSN then find the person I want and say. "Hey" From there I go and say what I bored for.

    WHen somebody say "I'm bored" that when I go "bananna". From there is get something.

    Nah, Lily is more like

    Lily: let's download <some RO server!>

    me: *zzz*
    Lily: ;o;

    yeah XD;

    Did you download it yet?
    /shifty eye
    =x

    Actually, I was thinking of Zaikiro and 22sa more when I made this XD;

    Seems like everyone's solution to this is always to say something totally out of the blue and weird, and hope that the other person will respond with something to say (banana?) What if they also blur out random things though o.o;

    That's me alright.... =x

    I actually find it very easy to think of new things to chat about, but I get bored of chat too, you see.

    It all depends on your interests. I like to play with imagination, so it ain't hard to find something to chat about.... But for the same reason, I also often want things that are out of my reach or can't find other people who'd agree with me to a far extent, and therefore suffer boredom in the long run. :\

    Ya, 22sa, you always come to me and say "I'm boreeeeeeeeeeeed"

    You've done it so many times I can't even remember how I reply.. >.>"

    Oh yes, and someone else ONLY talks to me when (s)he is bored. Wow, what a confidence booster. >O

    Obviously we need to exchange info to prepare ourselves in case of 22sa asking again XD; (and I just had a very short convo with 22sa, and that... died ><; Sigh, 22sa how am I suppose to keep up chats with you, lol)

    Perhaps my path is too obscure..... :P

    Oh well, use your imagination. It ain't hard, but it ain't necessarily worthwhile either, so don't get worried about it. :P

    Those "use your imagination" thing isn't so... easy for everyone. That's why I always think that it's rather unjust of what you say sometimes about other people o.O; Not everyone can be so easily gifted in starting convos (aka, me, and thus why start this topic XD), or be imaginative.

    For example, I can go on and on about how a particular damage calculation formula in a RPG is unfair in x and y amount of ways, but cannot do junk about "I'm bored." Hm?

    It's true. It ain't easy if you don't have a goal. That's why I add the goal of speed posting for normal conversations. Idle conversations shouldn't occur so frequently. Other activities are needed. xD;

    Hmm..when someone says I'm bored,I just respond to them "DO SOMETHING" D:
    My friend usually stop talking than come back at me with a "Jieferiygtrgniryt45ty8" response xDD;; Usually though,I'd be full of pep and energy to start some strange convo though ^^;

    Ugh, people always IM me with stuff like that, and it drives me crazy. I'm horrible at starting or holding convos, so I'll usually not respond for a while, and when I do, it's just with whatever I'm doing online at the time (i.e., go play backgammon, go post on some forum, go play a few flash games). Or I'll suggest we RP if I'm in no particular hurry. If none appeal to them, I'll say I have to leave. >> << >>

    ... Yeah; I fail at entertaining others. XD;

    I have serious problems with the credibility of your anecdote. I just can not believe it.

    I sometimes get into those situations, though. It's strange; there are some people I never have this problem with, and others I can never find anything to talk about with. And I'm not exactly sure why. XD;
