If a large natural disaster, such as the current tornado in America, or the Earthquake in Japan was going to hit your home some time in the next few months, what would you do?

Would you move, or just let it hit you, and hope for the best?

I don't see this to be an option. Why stay if you know that you'll lose everything to a natural disaster by doing so? I'd certainly move on if possible.

You mean, like, if only I knew and no one else? I'd look like a crazy person on the street with one of those signs that say "The end is nigh." But anyway, if I knew exactly when it would happen and how I'd only leave right before hand, otherwise I'd get out immediately. It's one thing living where disasters can happen, but an entirely different thing to have a disaster's epicenter on your house.

OH MAN, ABONDON SHIP, HURRICANE IKE IS COMING BACK FOR ROUND 2, OMGGGGGGGGG. D: This is totally not fabulous~!!
    ...
But yes, I would high tail it out of here. :c Find someplace safe... Trying to get all my family around would be hard, though.

If I knew it was coming, definitely get out of there. Move to Canada or something. I always wanted to live there.

I didn't literally mean right on your house, or that you would magically know exactly when it was going to happen. Just that it was going to definitely be close enough to strongly affect you, and it is inevitably going to happen in the near future.

If my family is getting out of there before the disaster hits, then I'd follow them. If they stay, I stay and pray we won't get hit.

Tbh, I'd just let it hit me. Whatever happens, happens. I'll try to get my family out anyways possible, but I'd stay with my house, since it's precious to me.

Moving on would be a bit of an adventure. I'm always up for an adventure.

Then again, staying behind and braving the disaster would be an adventure as well. I think I'd go with the less suicidal option.

I live near the Sydney city area, so I'm not really prone to disasters.

I had a fire in my unit once, and I though it was the end for me.

I would just move. I don't really see a point unless the disaster magically misses my house. XD

Well, that massive string of tornadoes here in the south managed to miss me and everyone I know, so I could count on luck. On the other hand, if it really was going to wreck everything I hold dear I'd kidnap gather up all my friends and people I care about here and high-tail it out somewhere else, at least till it's over. I live in a top-floor corner apartment - I don't think a closet and the sheer will to live would really do me much good.
