What connection do you have?



Plain and simple really.

What connection do you have where you live? Whether it be dial up, broadband, fibre-optic or some other crazy form of accessing the world of the online people.

I currently have a max 20MB connection with Virgin Media. The minimum I get at peak time [6pm] is 10MB - 12MB, so it is really good and at non-peak times I can hit 20MB, but it is rare.

I have a 1 Mbps DSL connection...
I think the highest in India is 16 Mbps which is quite expensive... And the ISP doesn't provide services here.
Living in VIP areas isn't always good :(

I live far from the exchange, so my ADSL2+ connection only gets about 4Mb/s. That usually equates to download speeds of ~550kB/s.

I hope the bit/byte difference isn't going to through people off, because I've seen it happen before, chatting to a friend.

I believe I have a 4 Mbps cable internet connection, which is run over analog coaxial cable. That's not both ways, though, obviously. Upstream speeds are much slower, at about 0.54 Mbps.

It says 24.01 mb/s download
and 18.65 mb/s upload..

I'm at work.. and using Disney's internet provider.. sooo.. yeah..

Der... Your ISP is pretty good. 60kBs are almost 512kbps...
Unless you didn't realize that recently all ISP's doubled the speeds of all plans in India... Almost nobody has 256 kbps now with MTNL, Airtel etc.

I opted for a broadband connection up to 10MB in speed anyway with Virgin Media, so this is bloody fantastic.

I'm not sure yet, currently from what I've tested I get at least 450-500kB download speed. It's adequate for my needs. I might upgrade to something faster if I can at some point.

I'm pretty sure that's the same speed we have. It's Virgin Media fibre-optic broadband anyways.

I opted for 5mb beacuse that's all I can get here. In reality, about 100kb/s download speeds. Dead serious.

My dad is with Virgin Media though, so that's usually when I can watch my anime, seeing as there is no lag :)
